I started watching your channel when I first saw your video on CNBC make it! I'm Nigerian as well and I loved everything about you. This video REALLY resonated with me. I’m in the same position as you were. Black woman in tech, looking to leave my company, and also just recently failed a Google onsite haha. I’m going to work super hard this next year with leetcode and hopefully when I interview again I’ll have better luck. Whether it’s at Google or somewhere else. :) Thank you for your videos

"If you're a black woman in tech all you need to do is spell HTML and you're guaranteed a job." UGH!! As a white woman in tech I get a lot of the same comments, that people just hand out tech jobs to women because companies want diversity. DEFINTELY NOT TRUE! It took me months of applying/interviewing to get a job. I am so happy that you are making these videos and sharing your amazing experiences. Thank you

I’m so sorry you lost a parent. I just would like to say you are a huge inspiration. And that black girl in tech thing someone said… We’ll I applied for like 100 companies before I got my first opportunity, something like 5 responded, and only two said yes to me.

I really resonated with you when you talked about sacrificing your social life for the sake of trying to get a job. I ended up doing the same thing in an effort to obtain internships that I really wanted, but this year I learned that it’s ok to take the time and enjoy my hobbies instead of working all the time, and I still ended up landing internships at the companies that I wanted :3

i dont work in the tech field but i found this so helpful! i had a similar experience feeling burnt out in a previous role and the pandemic shifted my priorities and made me reconsider the type of work i want to do.

Your channel has been a huge source of inspiration during my job search. I now work as a data scientist for PVH Europe based in Amsterdam, Holland. My job search has really been a struggle but the only thing that kept me going was consistent training in data science (even though I have a masters in Statistics), AI, software development and watching your channel. Putting everything into your job search and giving up other aspects of life is harmful. I learned this several times. The job search is so unpredictable and sometimes demoralizing. You might as well enjoy life while going through it! You are so smart and resilient too. I had no idea it was so hard to get into these companies, even with the experience you have. I'm sorry to hear about you losing your parent. You're amazing for working through that, but I hope you were able to take time to rest and grieve. Thanks for sharing your story, especially including the part about a dream tech job being nonexistent. Omg this is so relatable. I had an interview with Facebook and bombed it! To be honest it was one of my first interviews and I was very new to algorithms so I expected it, but was a good experience :-) .
