Welcome to my vlog from Bulgaria! I spend a couple of week living as a Digital Nomad in Sofia and absolutely loved it. We did some amazing activities and of course I filmed them for you! We did the Rila Seven Lakes hike, visited Plovdiv for the weekend, checked out a free food tour in Sofia, saw all the main Sofia sights, and (my personal highlight) went to see the Rila Monastery. I created my blog in 2012 when I was living in America. I was thrifting so much that I wanted to start sharing my outfits online and inspiring other people to look in charity shops. Now it's become all about my Digital Nomad journey and what it's like to be a female nomad.

I'm from the South of England but I currently live out of a suitcase travelling all over the world.
↣ Where is your favourite place in the world?
I fell deeply in love with Gili Air when we visited as a paradise getaway, but Chiang Mai is my favourite place to live. Plus of course, there's no place like home (Dorset in England).

So I know this video is from a few years ago, but I have to mention that the amphitheater is an ancient Roman ruin, from about the 1st century, that was discovered in 80's? after a mudslide in Plovdiv unearthed some of the ruins. Upon excavation, it turned out the amphitheater was almost completely intact. So cool!! My hunny and I lived in Sofia for a couple of months. We visited Plovdiv for a weekend and actually got to see Swan Lake performed in the amphitheater...one of my very best memories from our European travels. We have pics of the sunsetting behind the amphitheater that are just ugh *chef's kiss*

There are lots of other places to explore in Bulgaria! Take a hike in Rhodops Mountains 🗻, visit the Devil's bridge, there is a famous Cave called "the womb cave, great views around the mountains, observe the sky and the milky way at night from a peaceful mountain! If you like skiing you can also visit during the winter time as we have very famous ski resorts in South-East Europe. Also in the summer if you like the seaside. Bulgarian East coast is full of great resorts from the northern point to the south! So glad to hear that you had a good time in BG! Hope to see you again there! There is no greek churches in Bulgaria, it's Bulgarian orthodox churches. We have Patriarch, such as greece have one.

I'm really happy that you loved our country. You saw just a little part of our culture and nature but that means that you must come back again and experience more. I highly recommend going to the sea capital of Bulgaria - Varna. There, you can see the oldest gold treasure found in the world so far. You also would love to go around the old capital - Veliko Tarnovo, where you can see Tsarevets. One of the most important and historically significant places for bulgarians is Shipka peak. The view from there is breathtaking. This country has a lot to offer for the curious and adventurous minds. You can hike (mountain trails, ancient and historical monuments , caves, peaceful resorts etc.) or you can just enjoy laying on some of our beautiful beaches (north to south: Durankulak, Yailata, meanwhile you have to see cape Kaliakra - the eastern point of Bulgaria, then there are Balchic with the castle and it's gardens, Albena, Varna, Irakli beach, Historic Nesebar and Sozopol, also Pomorie, Sinemorets and the southernmost point- Rezovo) The list of places to visit while in Bulgaria is almost endless :) Have a wonderful time in our country :)

Very nice to hear all so good reviews about my heart,my soul,my everything my Bulgaria. As you would have noticed from the Rila mountain it is much hidden from your view. If you like to see more of it then you'll need to drive around on nature. Rila monastery and so many other hidden gems. Very happy that you're showing some off the beautiful places. The eyes of God is a think that you would need to visit it is a cave naturally formatted and so on and so on. One other thing you need to see it is the paleontology Musium in Asenovgrad some of the exhibits can be seeing only there in the world.

in the new town or modern shopping area of the city (01:39). there is a meat/deli shop on the main pedestrian walkway through the shopping area, that sells the best sausages i have ever had. get one in a pretzel color looking bread bun. this is a must do if you go to plovdiv.

Thanks for the reminder. I and a pregnant Daniela hiked up (before the days of the lift working in Summer, June of 2000) stayed at the main hut by Dolnoto Ezero. From there we hiked the seven lakes, (somewhere past the summit and the overlook we gathered some stones into a hikers pagoda with 20 stotinki hidden under for luck) and then hiked over the Rila down the south side all the way to the Monastery. It was at least 10 hours from the hut through the lakes and down the other side. Got down to the Monastery maybe 6 in the evening, and spent a night in the youth hostel. Poor Daniela, five months pregnant with our first, Dylan, and wearing the most basic of Keds type sneakers. I was so glad to make it as we only saw a few people on the trail and back then it was not really marked. So quite an adventure. Back then, Panichishte was just another quiet little village, and we hitched a ride up part of the way on a road maintenance truck. Stayed one night below the in an area with very basic cabins and a cold stream running by for bathing. Really. But it was the times and the experience then. Not the case anymore. But you can still get off the beaten path if you look. Thanks again Aglika for lending us your apartment in Sofia. I am sorry we have not kept touch. My loss. Mnogo lobov. Todd

you should have visited the Boyana church, a UNESCO heritage site. there is a lot of hiking to be done on Mt Vitosha too.

Maybe I'm just very unfit!! I thought it was pretty challenging!! But yes there was an amazing mixture of old people, dogs, and people in some very impractical clothes! :) Always a fun adventure

@@digitalnomadgirl I have done the climbing to the Seven Rila's Lakes and it was very challenging for me. I was in much better shape than I am now and it was hard. I felt more or less like a work out especially on the real steep climbing paths. I burned pretty badly too (August month) even though I put sunscreen on.

if you're not patient it will definetly be challenging, since you're supposed to take your time on routes like these if you're not used to climbing
