None of my chickens really bully eachother, unless I give them a corn cob. I think the reason why they don’t bully eachother is because uh… idk how but my chickens intelligence is rather…. Low. Even for chickens. Idk if it’s because of the low intelligence that they don’t bicker with eachother or if it’s just that I got lucky and they all get along well

Chickens are actually among the more intelligent species of birds. Not necessarily as smart as ravens or crows, but they are definitely up there too.

The unintelligent is far from true. It is their instinct they are acting out when they bicker it is pecking order. Chickens are intelligent, they have even been proven to have compassion which a little more complex, they even sometimes go against instinct and nurture each other rather than kill. They are prey animals and when one get sick they usually kill that one however many people have seen chickens show mercy . What we call bullying is hierarchy there pecking order, some flocks have birds that fall into line easily and some have more insecure birds that want to make sure no one pushes them lower on the order.

Not all areas allow for roosters. In my city, roosters are illegal, but you can have 4 chickens. Of course I have 6 chickens currently because chicken math, but a lot of areas consider roosters to be a nuisance.

@@chickentales3243 maybe a large guard dog to help protect the chickens? Raise it from a puppy alongside your hens so it will grow close to them and not betray them. Put the dog house right next to the chicken coup too. The dog will protect them from eagles, hawks, coyotes, raccoons, opossums, and even skunks.

I am not sure. May be I am just too used to them. When they were little and we started making their bed with pine shavings, they used to smell like the pine shavings.

If they are given enough range to roam around, no. But they will smell if you restrict them to tiny cages; and You shouldn't do that.
