Yes, of course. BUT, she is a child. She wasn't bothered by the rest of her face, just her ears. I know she was happy with her results and stuff once it was done, but the thing here is if she wasn't bothered, then it wasn't wrong. And for an adult to say "You know, there are other things wrong with your face that you haven't seen yourself yet" to a child, that doesn't sit well with me.

She is still a child. That's my concern here. She had one problem she wanted to fix and then the doctor pointed out more. I am well aware that it was to balance things out and yadayada, But she is still A CHILD She shouldn't even be thinking about such things at that age.

Great now every bullied child has to get plastic surgery and more people can continue to get bullied since bullies won’t be stopped.
@vineetasjourney80175 жыл бұрын
I think that applies but within reason. There’s a different between vanity obsessed/body dysmorphia and fixing disfigurements such as pinning the ears back or straightening up a nose. If it’s causing the child daily bullying to where it’s destroying their high school experience that they will never get back, where they don’t want to go in to school, self icolate effecting their self esteem and social skills and stopping them focus on their education then thats totally understandable and warranted. I had my ears pinned back and my sister also had a wandering eye where she needed the a muscle tightened in her eye so that her eyes matched. This girl didn’t get plastic surgery because she was obsessed with her vanity but because she had slight disfigurements. If the facilities are there to get things fixed then why not take advantage of it?

When you have a feature that nobody likes you're hated for it but pretty soon before you know it now EVERYONE wants that feature. Its gotten to the point where so many people want plastic surgery and so many people are insecure about their looks. There's a reason that all these models and celebrities wear makeup all the time and get plastic surgery. That's not even how they look like naturally. They want to just put out that huge illusion that they're perfect and it sets trends so that EVERYONE wants to look like them. More people are getting plastic surgery and are setting the unrealistic trend of having features that they never naturally had looking like that in the first place. I'm telling you comparing yourself to other women out there is a MAJOR PROBLEM. Not only are you degrading your self worth but we were never even made to compare each other in the first place!!! Mia, I hope you never get plastic surgery and know how wonderful you look and realize that you don't have to change a thing. Why don’t they just teach children to respect, instead of changing someone’s physical appearance to not be bullied?
@cheifcreekturtle2 жыл бұрын
Because children at young ages arent able to censor themselves and their own natural thoughts nor should they be. You can tell a small child all day to be polite but it’s natural for children to say what they think. Their brains aren’t developed enough to think the way adults do about what’s ok to say and what might hurt someone’s feelings. That’s not something all children can really grasp until they are older. A child is learning about their emvironment and that environment includes other people and noticing the differences in appearances of other people; including skin color, hair texture, missing limbs, additional limbs, face features, body type, etc. you can’t tell a child that they can’t point these things out because sometimes they arent “.being bullies” sometimes they’re just pointing out what they they see the same way they say “sky is blue” and “grass is green” and “ball is round” if a person is round them they point that out too because they are learning. I have a child with a physical abnormality to his ear and I did not make him have surgery to correct it, but if that’s his choice when he is old enough to make that decision he can. However I was not offended when other children pointed it out, because my child would equally point out things on other kids too! It’s what kids do. They observe. Observing isn’t always bullying. This girl in the first grade didn’t meet a bully, she met an observant child: Now if an adult said something that would be different.

vicky M It's not so easy though for someone to do it just for themself depending on factors, such as how bad that someone is being bullied, and what that person being bullied feels they can do to stop/escape the bullying. She likely felt very awful, trapped, and like the only thing that could save her is to change her appearance. Fortunately, this surgery seemed to really help her feel better. Imagine if she didn't have the surgery and consider how painful bullying can be. She might have killed herself because of feeling so shitty from being treated so bad. Some people kill themselves from being treated so bad. It's awful how bad the pain and sadness is that beings can go through due to being treated cruelly, which is why treating others positively and well is so important. Treating others good/positively generally contributes to making Earth better; treating others bad/negative generally contributes to making Earth worse.

I hate this. Instead of changing the victim change the attacker. The bully will just go to a different target or continue bullying her. Don't change yourself for someone else. Also, it gives the bully in some cases what they want, for the victim to cave in and let them win. In my opinion this was a bad move by the parents for agreeing. Also, the fact the doctor wanted to do more to make her look even "better" makes me want to puke it's gross how people care about their appearance so much. I understand if you grow up and want to wear makeup to feel fancy and stuff, but a doctor saying to change more about yourself and your own parents letting you change yourself to make someone else happy is just sickening to me. She was beautiful before the surgery and did NOT have to change her face was just amazing and just fine they didn't have to do anything to her nose or her ears like she wanted to do from the start. It's just so sad how people can be so rude to people who aren't perfect, but guess what humans aren't perfect and we all know that. I just hope people learn that this was not ok if there was a health issue then that's a different story, but to do this for a bully it's not.

her reaction after she saw her face in the end broke my heart:( Like why in the world would you bother trying to change your daughters appearance when you should be taking action against her bullies! I knew she didn't even like her "new" face one bit. The surgeon doctor needs to get the hell out of here bc he should be making her feel secure, not insecure.
@whitneyball89877 жыл бұрын
I think this video gives out the wrong message. Everyone is so, so beautiful and unique. They shouldn't have to change the way they look for anyone. I can't believe that doctor convinced her to change more.

How about combating bullying instead of recommending plastic surgery?
@ekramer10308 жыл бұрын
***** Yeah actually it does if those in authority take appropriate charge.
@ekramer10308 жыл бұрын
***** Yeah it does. Problem is when the authority figures don't do shit and they don't involve programs to make the kids think and realize that being the solution is far more awesome than being a douche.

I guess it was her choice, but i wouldn't recommend surgery. Cause that might give the bullies another target. In calling her "fake" for having surgery. U should never let anyone order u around. U just gotta stand up for ur self. Im sorry if i sound rude, but i found this ridiculous

True. Some people verbally bully me for my appearances but I work on my self esteem & just don't give a damn. I just ignore them eventhough sometimes I doubt myself. At least, I'm original & I'm happy for that.

I mean, she looked actually fine the way she is. (No offense to ANYONE) but I just thinks that she doesn’t look as good as she used to be even after the surgery. Did you noticed that during 4:29 when the doctor unwrapped her bandages she talked about how she liked the look. But I noticed that (maybe it’s just me) she couldn’t talk that natural.

Nonononono instead of telling the kids that there is something wrong with their face and wanting them to change it, help them learn to love themselves the way they were made. This is the completely wrong way to go about the "issue"
@awesomefacestuff44296 жыл бұрын
It really isn’t as easy as you think it is. It takes a long time to “learn to love yourself the way you are” especially if the bullying constantly reminds you of your ugliness. If the kids themselves aren’t happy with how they look, they should have the right to want to change how they look.
@Swimsalot123MC6 жыл бұрын
Caroline M even if she learns to love herself, the bullies won't. Listen if I was being bullied to that point I wouldn't give a fuck about "loving myself", it's about being able to exist without feeling looked down upon by others
@Melanie-pz1qc6 жыл бұрын
Lets deal with reality! Face is really important in this society
@Swimsalot123MC6 жыл бұрын
That's not true. Accepting herself won't change the bullies' perspective and the bullying will still continue and it will still bother her.
@Swimsalot123MC6 жыл бұрын
That's the biggest load of shit I've ever heard. First off Mr. Highly intelligent its *accept. Now don't you remember that she didn't even notice anything wrong with herself until the bullying started? You must exist in a magical world if you believe that accepting yourself is the way she should have dealt with. Teenagers are extremely sensitive and insecure most of the time, leading to depression and even suicide. It is extremely difficult, nearly impossible to be confident about who and what you are especially when you're being constantly bullied and you're in your teenage years. That's just how life and society works and she could never be really happy as long as the bullying continues so yes, it is about the bullies accepting you. Sorry if I'm sounding hostile I'm not trying to attack you but you have to see what I'm trying to say.
