"Lord High Toad Muglug, King of the Seven Bogs and Master of Muglugville" ...well now I have my newest NPC

I once killed a Bullywug, and his last words were: "Why a sword? Out of all the weapons in the world, why a sword!?"

I once ran a One Shot, set in the swamps, where Bullywugs were ambushing travelers. The party, (about level 6 I believe) had found themselves ambushed in the night by these Bullywugs. And they brought him before The Emerald King, the Poison Prince, He who has overcome the Water Lizard, Bogrot. The Lord of the Great Swamp, was a Banderhobb. (Home brewed to be a touch smarter than the Bullywugs)

Guys, your Dungeoncast is really great, I've listened and re-listened to soooo many shows already. really helpful and entertaining. I like listening while working in my own dungeon workshop on those rainy days!

I'm imagining king Bullywug pulling out the most expensive looking perfume bottle and squirting himself with putrid swamp water to moisten his skin as he sits on his rickety throne.

Brian and will, I've been a longtime listener of. the dungeoncast and like to re listen to all of your guys content when developing new campaign settings, you guys have influenced every game my players have rated as great, all that aside. You guys talking about the superstealth insane hops of these foggy boys and the only thing I can think of is... bullywug shinobi! Great way to ambush a middle to higher level group by throwing a group of level 3 Rouge and monk bullywugs who are jumping and leaping cover to cover overhead in the canopy raining down daggers, smoke bombs. Getting those sneak attacks in hit and run attacks

Another possible synergy is with Troglodytes. After all, the Trogs aren't too bright either and worship Laogzed, the Giant Toad. And Bullywugs are quite good at controlling giant toads, so,...

When you do the slaad episode, I'd be so happy if you call them the "sayins or the super sayins of monsters", because they can have so many forms and transformations.

Another great Cast, guys. I was thinking, if Raminos degenerated over time, what if Bullywugs used to be Slaadi, or very realted, on the material plane, and like Raminos, degenerated over time? I think that would be the kind of lore I'd add in my campaign setting. Oh, and when you do that Bullywug homebrew, shoot me that block! I love giving my players options. A Bullywug Warlock (shaman) with a Froghemoth pact would be amazing! Good game, guys, see ya next week

I think its a great fusion of the lore! And you got it, I will send you the homebrew when I finish it!

The Dungeoncast Dude this is so well done! You actually got me thinking a lot on Bullywugs. I think in my campaign setting, they'll have a culture somewhat like voodoo shamanism. Swamp witches. Give them a homebrewed voodoo priest class and a bit of power to play into the Lord of the Swamps thing they have.

way late to the party on this one, but for some reason, the thought of "what would the Froghemoth fight?" got me thinking...It'd fight a Catoblepas. Which is an equally ridiculous creature, but more mammalian. Still lives in swamps though, so this could really be cannon

Also Froghemoths literally came from space! They are an invasive species that emerged out of a crash landed zoo ship.

Grungs are the "poison dart frog" humanoids (their skin secrets different poisons depending on what color they are, which also determines their caste and rank in their society). Grippli are the "tree frog" humanoids (they have a grapple attack with their tongues and live for over 150 years. They are also the only naturally good frog-folk). Sladi are actually NOT frogs. You would be forgiven for making the mistake of thinking they were though, because they sure do look like them. They grow from tadpoles! (usually) Despite this however, they are beings made of pure chaos, and can therefore take pretty much any form they choose. No one actually knows why the majority choose to look like red or blue frog-like monstrosities, (or why those two types don't seem to get along very well, even though they are supposed to be from the same species... 😅) but they were born from the one of the planes of chaos (I can't remember which off hand) and they themselves are, in fact, little bits of chaos. Soooo... Bullywogs are their own distinct Toad-people humanoids... Just sayin. 🤷🏼♂️

Thanks man! How is the Aboleth campaign going? Also, saw you supported us on Patreon. You are awesome sir!
@jacklopoo45637 жыл бұрын
Had to cut off the campaign early, they never got to the aboleth. mostly because it got too difficult to get like 6 ppl together. So we split the group in two and im gonna DM a group of 3 players through the Out of the Abyss book! i also plan on recording it and making a youtube channel so everyone can see it.
