Aftermarket Zenith 24T Carb Review, Are they worth buying?

I saw a Chinese copy of the Zenith 24t Carb as used on the Ferguson tractors on Amazon so I bought one and pulled it apart.

It works well the petrol doesnt seem to worry it at all.

It really is running well with this carb, I am quite supprised but happy there is another option.

its called pattern parts the same but enough changed so it does not infringe rights on the original part like the change in jet position and different screws

Hello sir, great video. I have the same style zenith carb only where you point and show that gauze filter on your carb mine has a brass weep hole that is weeping fuel. About 1 small drip every 15 or so seconds. Do you know what this small brass weep hole is for and why it’s leaking? Does it have to do with the float or needle and seat? Thanks!

Yes your needle and seat is weeping by the sound of it. Open the bowl drain and let fuel run for a cup or so and it may flush any rubbish stick in the needle and seat out.

@@BundyBearsShed yep it was the needle ans seat so I pulled the carb and rebuilt it. Never rebuilt or worked on a zenith carb before so when I saw fuel leaking from that weep hole I figured I’d investigate a bit before I tore it off the forklift. Thanks buddy!

It's good to know that not all Chinese parts are junk. I got a surprise watching you move the throttle lever, mine works in the opposite direction: clockwise (down) to slow it down and anti-clockwise (up) to speed it up. Something installed incorrectly, I suspect. Great video!

My original z24t has 2 alloy washers on the needle/seat and pisses fuel out the gauze filter, thats maybe worth a try for $200Aud or so…. Thanks for vid Lance.

Just clean your needle, they are brass on brass and a nice fit normally, i find it is usually a bit of rubbish that makes them leak.

I found them for 114$ saying it was a kit but its the carby complete. mine is really worn out i put a kit in it 12 years back its badly worn still running for how long i don't know.

I suppose it depends on where in the world you are and what currency, mine is Aussie Dollars. This carb is still on the tractor and still running well.

Those brushes etc are exactly what I received with China made paint spray gun.....

They might be good to clean a passage but air and CRC Brake cleaner seems to work for me.

What weight engine oil do you run in your tractors?

In the petrol tractors they get 20w50 or if it is a really worn one 20w70. In the diesels mostly 15w40 if it is a real old banger it might get mono 40 or mono 50 diesel oil.
