Most companies are. Any company that followed dei took a financial loss. It's a great idea in theory but you should never hire a higher percentage of any group than that group is of the population. It just reduces your talent options. Hire people based on their merit. Bungie has burned too many bridges with it's community from the get go with their way too aggressive pricing of DLCs, frequency, quality, REMOVING of content, and locking certain things behind the shop that should never have been. The ship has been on fire and sinking for a while now, and it's almost funny to me that they are only just now noticing it. The removal of DEI employees is a great first step! They may be able to correct course in time, but I don't think they will do what is necessary to do so. I suspect the train will still hit the wall and pile up the cars behind it.

LIke I said, there is an opportunity to turn it around, but it's up to them to do it; and their history doesn't really give me much hope for that, even if they are on the right track. I really don't feel like I'm hating on 'em for laying things out like they are. It's nice to see that they have stopped sunsetting old content, but I was burned bad when they began that practice, both weapons and DLC. Myself and people like me are naturally going to be very cautious about returning to a game that wasted so much of our hard earned money, and time. Coming back isn't out of the question, i'm sure, for many of us, but it's gonna take some more good will to get us there.

That saint 14/Osiris storyline was so unnecessary. It really took away time that couldve been used for the conductor, who almost seems like an afterthought compared to saints mid life crisis/relationship with osirus. Felt like they made that whole storyline to coincide with Pride month

Destiny gunplay and pve is amazing. The story was turned turboqueer. They made it look like there would be a new manly character with lightfall. It's really interesting to see this happen at Bungie, Sony as a whole is one of the most woke companies out there. Bungie did it to themselves by vaulting tons of paid-for content, nerfing most of the abilities and weapons that made Destiny 2 fun, and catering cookie-cutter OP can't-lose buffs/loadouts for streamers that most players find boring and don't want to play. I haven't given bungie a penny since they nerfed Tiran shoulder charge into irrelevance in 2020, and won't until they fix it back to how it was. I was a average 1.5 KDA Crucible player and frequently got slammed by OP team-shooting fireteams that stayed very close together. But I would usually win one round against these type of fireteams by landing a shoulder charge from a flank that would take out the whole team, but this required closing the distance without getting killed which was quite difficult so I earned it. This was easily countered by them moving apart slightly, so NBD for them. But butthurt streamers complain instead of adapting and so Bungie destroyed shoulder charges by making them equal to regular melee hits, so what's even the point of having them? And melee is completely broken where you punch and then the opposing player is randomly repositioned, often behind you. This also needs to be fixed because if you punch someone it should knock them back, which gives you the opportunity to finish them off with a second punch instead of being killed yourself by two melees from behind by the player you punched first. Bungie if you don't want to disappear into irrelevance you need to fix Destiny now while you still have some customers left.

Having Luke Smith and Mark Noseworthy gone and the news that there is no D3 is heartbreaking. I think we all saw the writing on the wall for a while, but one could hope.

Ya know, if they brought back all the cut campaigns and DLC that they removed from Destiny 2, I would probably continue to play the game religiously if I could literally play start to finish on each character I have. I work in retail, and one of the mantras, so to speak, that my store goes by is "Don't sell the product, sell the project". Who would want to play a game that they don't have the full access to? It's like trying to make sense of the alphabet with half the letters missing. Not to mention, as someone who had played Destiny 1, and got Destiny 2 on day 1 of it's release, I'm personally very frustrated at the fact that the game that I paid for has been completely cut, and I just have a bunch of DLC's that I have to pay for crammed in my face in order to even play the game anymore. Also, the game is definitely very confusing and overwhelming for new players in equal measure, which is very disastrous if they are trying to revitalize the game. In my opinion, what they need to work on is re-introducing cut content, in so doing, reconstructing the alphabet, and catering to returning players. Also making the game more user-friendly for new player and enhancing their tutorial system and making different DLC's available only after certain points of a player's progression.

As a returning destiny player the games frustrating. You want an exotic your friends and clanmates are running? Vaulted. You want your class item with certain rolls? 1/64 every time and horrible drop rates. On top of that content releases are slow, Patches takes up 4-5 hours almost every Tuesday and just because that's how it's always been doesn't make it acceptable in this day and age. Most games have almost zero downtime other than server restarts unless it's a major major update and even then maybe an hour or two. Overall I feel like Bungie just doesn't care which makes me wonder, why do I?

I'm happy I found this video. My wife and I have been Destiny gamers for over 10 years. We started with the Beta and have bought every single part of Destiny. We were all but ready to ditch Bungie and all of their stuff when they began introducing WOKE and LGBTQ crap into the game and basically forcing us to put up with it. KEEP POLITICS AND OTHER CRAP OUT OF GAMING. Stick with developing the game and no more other crap. BUt, since watching this, I think we'll ride it out and see what happens. Bungie/Sony...thank you very much for cutting the garbage out of the game and sticking to the content we Bungie Veterans have grown to love. HALO was wonderful and it didn't include political/LGBTQ in it. And it's still going strong.

Not trying to place blame, but one of the reasons Destiny and related games lose their player base, is because of "toxic players". These players are everywhere constantly berating the game saying how bad it is, but yet the play all the time getting good gear and weapons. Then during raids or dungeons, they berate other players for not being as good as they are and for not playing they way they want you to play. I have run across so many players and clans built in this that it makes me not want to play with others. With content demanding at least 2 others to get anywhere after the powerful cap, players just go to other games.

One thing I don't get about this whole situation is why everyone keeps perpetuating this "Destiny 3 gets cancelled" shit. Destiny 3 was not being made. They were never going to make Destiny 3, they were always just going to run Destiny 2 in perpetuity. Project Payback wasn't Destiny 3, it was a single player third person action spinoff that by the sound of things was gonna have a set protagonist rather than a player made one. There was never a Destiny 3 to cancel in the first place.

@@lostsoul7345 this KZbinr said that it was because of Sweet Baby Inc but in reality, they started to get a lot of money during the quarantine because people were locked in doors and so Destiny 2 received an influx of players but as we all started to get back out there and everything started to get back to normality, they started to lose money because they spent a lot of it on hiring a bunch of employees to then try to pump out even more games. But as a result, they began to do the absolute bare minimum for Destiny 2 which impacted their sales. Bungie has literally no money, all they’re running on right now is the money that Sony paid them. Which is now being used by the CEO to buy himself collectible cars. They have horrible money management, it wasn’t the woke stuff that has the company in the place that it’s in right now. Again, we’ve seen them over the years hiring so many employees that they couldn’t support in the long run, they bought another studio for said employees and pretty much invested that money into so many other things and ignored/neglected their cash cow to the point that a lot of players have actually stopped playing the game because, like myself, got tired of going through ups and downs over the past decade and we just wanted to see the chapter between light and dark to end.

Hm, I WAS upset about the Bungie lay offs. I love the game, hate the makers of said game. Maybe with a chunk of the activist saboteurs we may get some more neutral, politically, content. When I realized how many "developers" were actually Pro "force DEI down normies throats" I feel much better.

Honestly when I watch Bungie vidocs and releases int he apst, it's very hard to see someone who's just normal. Almost everyone had a quirk to them, until recent year or so. It was very weird to see that, some of those people didn't even look like they were acting in a way that's professional to be on camera.

Bungie lost my support when they started vaulting content in D2 that was paid for originally. Losing out on the story content for no reason. You should never remove content for any reason. Now for the seasons story content is plain stupid to me. Not everyone can be on playing it while some work 40hr jobs . Its gets out of hand when you log in and thrust into something you got no idea what the heck is going on. I brought D2 originally and it wasn't free to play when released. D1 in my opinion is better to this day still at least we had our content still in the game.
