After a year plus owning this coffee brewer I wanted to share my thoughts while learning to use my camera as a video camera. There is definitely a love/hate relationship with the coffee maker.

Thanks for the review! I'm in the market for a US made machine that lasts so I'm considering this one. Two things jumped out at me during your review and I thought it wouldn't hurt to mention. You might be better off with a larger capacity machine than 10 cups to be able to pour without spilling. Our current machine's max is 12 cups and the most we've ever brewed is 8. While the carafe is a terrible design, we've (ha! Speaking for myself *I've) learned to pour slowly and evenly and gotten to the point that it's not terribly hard to pour without spilling it now, but I feel if it were fuller it might still be difficult to manage. As for the filter overflowing, I noticed a mesh basket for sale on Amazon that is larger and supposed to be compatible with the Bunn. Sorry to be so long winded! It has been a while since you filmed this but figured I'd mention in case you're still using it. Take care and thanks again! ☕☺️

Thanks for the info. It’s long gone. Have a percolator now.

Your video came out just fine. We've owned Bunn coffee makers on and off for a few decades. They do change the designs, and I still think they offer various models that look different. For the reusable filter -- call Bunn and request the slower head. They should send it for free. Or try making less than a full pot of coffee.. just slightly less. I'm guessing it is overflowing. Another option is to grind your own beans (you can do it at the grocery store) and try a slightly larger grind setting so the coffee flows through the grinds fast enough. I agree that the warmer light is hard to see. On the first Bunn machines ages ago it was a big bright red switch! It keeps getting smaller and smaller. I would like one that still shuts off.. but maybe after 2 hours. The non-Bunn I have now shuts off after 40 minutes! Or I may just go with a carafe next time.

I didn’t know they had a slower head. Gonna try that.

You must use BUNN paper filters ONLY ! Those mesh filters are for drip style coffee makers that have a much slower flow rate. I just got the BUNN speed brew model GRB on Amazon, and the warmer plate switch is on the top, and lights up red !

I pour my coffee at a slower rate and do not have problems with it dripping. You can look for the old style carafes at thrift stores and maybe that will work better for you and how you pour. I liked those too.

You know nothing about Bunn, why did you not buy a cheap coffee maker machine.

This coffee maker isn't worth the price you pay for it just to have coffee in 4mins. No auto shut off, no clock to program it to auto start, always leaving on just to have hot water ready. My $40 coffee maker has all the bells and whistles and a cleaning mode. Why not save over a $100 and just make the coffee ahead of time, program it to start brewing 15mins before your alarm to wake up? Then you wait ZERO mins for coffee and you don't have to try to remember if you shut it off all day at work? Lol

For the record: my GF bought this coffee maker so I do have experience with it. Lol. I've had this discussion with her and she gets mad cause she doesn't want to admit it wasn't a good deal. Lol

I like the bun. I don’t like grinding my beans ahead of time and leaving them out overnight just to lose the oils. The fast brew ensures it doesn’t get over saturated for too long which is why a lot of home coffee makers have bitter coffee. But what I love about the bun is the reliability. Had it for many years with no trouble when before every Me Coffee or whatever we had last about a year to 2 years
