I got the 2022 release of bunnahabhain 12 cask strength. One of the best cask strengths out there. Im also big fan of Ardnamurchan. Their cask strength is amazing also. And yes. I drink both neat. I dont need any water on both of them. Cheers.

🫡🥃🥃. Good to know. Will try to get some of the 2022. Happy weekend

It looks like Bunnahabhain 12 CS varies year over year. I got the 2021 release 55.1% abv I think. I am not going to get into 2021 vs 2022 vs 2023 or 2099 for that matter otherwise I will chasing my own tail until I faint. Aside from Bunna, I have always enjoyed Aberlour A'bunadh one of the best sherry bombs over the last 10+ years. There are different fan clubs of annual releases but that does not make me regret getting on with a bottle I have. No need to worry mate, enjoy the bottle you spent big bucks on. Cheers!

Love your attitude mate. Aberlour is great. But this one for me has so much more flavour. Always nice to hear from you. Cheers. Happy weekend.

OMG the 2022 is a little less ABV but one of the biggest sherry bombs out there, even more than the 2023. It's dense, it's raisins, figs, dates and stewed fruits, like a mince pie, but not so much of the vanilla you're talking about 2022. I bet on 2022 for sure.

Bloody hell. Now I have to get some……. Cheers mate. Always nice to hear from you. Happy weekend.

So happy to see that you liked it after my neckpour review of it. I have to admit I had my fingers crossed the whole time waiting for your review of it, I know many people prefer the 2022 but I did really enjoy this one and I’m really glad you did too so I didn’t give you a bad recommendation! 😅 mine has since opened up a little more which is exciting and I agree, it drinks better with a little water, cheers! 🥃

Wonderful recommendation mate. Definitely opened up. I am really enjoying it. Even added a couple of drops of water to help the vibe. Looking forward to try some more. Cheers

Cheers Gert, you're right it does need and reacts well to water. I'm very happy to see this as an option but unfortunately it's not for me.

Definitely for someone that like sweet whisky. Cheers

Just opened this recently. Upon 1st taste I thought : oh my lord this is so HOT! If I had to drink this without water I would not recommend it. That said, once o added water the magic happened. It opened up so much! I would suggest adding more than a little bit of water, teaspoon seems about right. This scotch is spicy. One of the hottest I’ve ever had. However once you add the water it subsides significantly and is very tasty. Although it still bites. Nutty , cinnamon, fine Dark chocolate. Fig. I have two bottles of the 2022. I skipped buying the ‘21 version in favor of that extra ‘22 bottle . Curtesy of the whisky tube community! Btw I rarely buy locally myself as the tariffs have made the variety of bottles disappear and the prices have remained high even though the tariffs have been suspended. Last few times I’ve gone locally to buy I’ve found some cask strength gems. This 23 version, two ‘22’s and also two Port Charlotte OLC 01.

Thank you for your review, you made me pull the trigger and buy the Bunna 12 2023 CS. By the way have you tried ordering from whiskybase? They have a shop in Rotterdam the Netherland and deliver to Belgium? Just saying that they are pretty fast with adding new bottles after they are released

Thanks for the information. I did not know. Will take a look. I ordered this one in Netherlands. Cheers

I still don't understand those who spend more for the cask strength versions and then have to add water to enjoy the dram. I made this mistake once and I will never repeat it, it was a Jack Daniel Single Barrel Barrel Proof, flavors and aromas killed by 64° vol, stuff for alcoholics

@@eymerichinquisitore9022 for me I like high abv whisky. I have more control over the strength on how I want to drink it. Couple of drops water opens it up nicely. But it is a personal preference. If you are happy with 40% then great. Don’t stress it. You drink it the way you like it. Thanks for watching.
