This is more of the footage from my first “real” ride on the Husky TE250i. Let me just say that the thing rips. This is a great bike. I could own this bike as my primary dirt bike and be just fine. Yes, there are some things that I’ll complain about when I do the full review on this bike after giving it back to Husqvarna, but overall, its a great bike.
Something that I really love about it is just how light and lively it feels. Since the motor runs so clean and free, it almost makes the bike seem lighter for some reason. There will be much more footage coming out of my rides with this bike and I’ll do trip where we ride this bike back to back with the KTM 250 XC-W TPI. During that trip, I will also ride this TE250i back to back with my 2017 KTM 250 XC and see how that compares.

Hey Kyle I'm super stoked about you testing the HUSKY. I'm a HUSKY guy all the way. Currently riding a 2016 TE300 and I also have a 2011 Txc250. Thanks for the great videos and reviews

great review Kyle! Always find the Husky bikes looking so nice! Your rear tire looks worn out on your video pics. Can't wait to see you ride your "vintage" CR250R!! love those cr's! Light, solid and reliable!

For what you like I think you'd probably favor the tx250/300. It's gonna have the same trans as your 17 xc. Unfortunately no efi in the tx yet and we still don't have the te300efi here either.

The gearing is set up for over here in Europe. We don’t have the dry fast low tech trails that you have. If come over here and ride, wet and muddy most events.

Kyle what about the xplor forks? On my 2017 300 exc sixdays in higher speeds the square edged obstacles start kicking unpredictably, so I had to go for Dal Soggio sphere cartridges...

Kyle, regarding your fuel consumption comparison it’s worth noting that the TE250i has a slightly smaller fuel tank thanTyler’s KTM 300XC. They had to make the fuel tanks smaller on the fuel injected 2-strokes to make room for the filler neck of the oil tank.

And he's comparing a bike with 50cc more... All he has to do, is a loop with a friend w the 2017 and 2018 ktm250's to give us a answer. He has both in the stable..It's almost harder for him to understand than people that comment on premix ratio's...lol

Large gas tanks have their own tradeoffs with too much weight, and more importantly, too much surface effect way up front. I'm in the same boat on my thumper. The ultimate solution would be auxiliary rear subframe-tanks. Like the tank for the 701 combined with a conventional tank.
@ZSharkPH

Me too Matt Nicholson.. I'd love to get the range of 100 miles with no more than a 3.2 tank. I love doing long all day loops in the desert. But its so hard to get any answers on these tpi bikes.

Yeah I was thinking big 5 to 7 gallon safari tanks, not an extra half gallon. I wouldn't mind a couple of extra liters over my stock tank.

Only smaller in volume cause of the fuel pump inside the tank nothing to do with the oil filler position

Totally understand your statement about gearing. For some kinds of riding a close ratio transmission will excel. In other kinds of riding a wide ratio trans mission will excel. In either case choosing the right final drive ratio is still critical. I'm one of those people who feel some of your gearing statements have been worded as an unfair overall judgement rather than a fair assessment of the trade-offs for conditions, wide ratio vs close ratio, final drive setup, and rider. Never personal. Keep up the good work. 👍

stop it Kyle ! the hell with "lectron" !!! can't hear that name anymore ! a carb is a carb, no matter how "special" it is or how expensive it is - IT WILL NEVER BE AS GOOD AS AN EFI !!! or TPI in this case of 2strokes . don't you understand you can get other or better behaviour from the TPI ?! you just don't get the option from the factory - cause they must stand in regulations as the bike is'nt a "competition only" bike ! imagine what you could achieve if you had an option and programing softwear for that TPI ;)

eyalcr500 tpi is a bust a carbbed bike is going to have more power and more adjustability plus they weigh less there's really no benefit except"ease of use" for people that don't understand jetting which trust me software tuning a bike is 10x more difficult
@lostinactionable
@lostinactionable 6 жыл бұрын
A carb is not just a carb. If you operate between serious altitude changes, you will never be able to get a Mikuni or Keihin carb working as good as a Lectron, regardless of jetting. Ever. Period.

Matt Nicholson exactly I don't see electronic injection beating our well tuned carbureted bikes anytime in future I have a yfz 450r (quad) and the hondas can easily be made to make more power injection is a huge limitation even with software injectors only spray so much

@ Get Outdoors - No benefit? Thats funny. Where do you get your information? Ive had tons of carb bikes and now I have a TPI (Husky). Its been flawless, and has a great power curve. Especially when Im riding with a few thousand feet of elevation change.
