you should always send 1 item to the surface, even more if it's a MVP one that would end up making you win the run, because if you own it, you can start with it every time

Well, sometimes stuff gets hard so you'll have to make a choice between sending it up right away, or risking death and waiting until you get something potentially good. Of course there is a limited pool of items you can get, so at some point you'll run out of 'bad' items to retrieve, even if you send up the worst unretrieved item you get every run. As for me, I sent up the first few bottles I got and later in the run I got 50% experience... happened like twice. Game is just trolling, not giving me the good stuff until I send up something much worse first since the times I don't send up anything I just get all trash/retrieved items. Not that a bottle is bad, but it doesn't exactly get much better than a 50% necklace.

Omg, I'm sitting here yelling at the screen, over and over again, "turn in an item." It's a permanent damn upgrade, and it was obvious you were gonna die.

A few tips: (SPOILER ALERT!): - Even if you win, you don't get to keep the non retrieved items, meaning you only get your one item per run from the well - For every 10 levels you get a higher upgrade for example with level 30 you get acsess to lvl. IV upgrades - with more done quests you get more expirience and unlock new traits, for example if you get strength lvl V with swordman you can perma unlock more strength as meta progression - You get the possibility for upgrades for abilities with 3 upgrades, meaning if you have lightning strike with 3 upgrades and get a scroll you can get a upgrade - if you have done 750.000 damage with the ability you unlock a new upgrade for the ability for the next runs - so you can get an ability, with 3 lvls in the ability you get your first upgrade and with 6 lvls in the ability you can get another upgrade, so you have for example lvl 6 lightning strike with 2 upgrades in one run

Equipment not Retrieved or Owned need to be sent (1 per run) to the well to be Retrieved. Retrieved items wait indefinitely at the wellkeeper and cost Gold to be Owned. Owned items can be equipped before runs as additional guaranteed power. Some items drastically change or even enable certain synergies to work. Think of them like Powerups you have to unlock in a weird way, but you can't refund the Gold when unlocking them like the Blessings/Powerups.

It still works, especially if he also goes for attack speed, which greatly increases the chance of a crit. The only thing I wonder is if the crits also apply to burning damage.

Doing quests for your characters unlocks both new weapons/items/characters but also can unlock new types of upgrades for that character or certain weapons. Then there's typically more than one build for each main weapon AND you can combo each different build type with a different set of abilities/ability upgrades/item sets.

The exterminator gets Fire Affinity, which makes his flames work better, and he seemed to unlock gear that is fire specific as well, like a set of gloves that causes enemies on fire to shoot out projectiles to hit other enemies, a ring that changes damage type to fire and increases burn chance and my favorite magic ability with is Dragon Breath, which sends out a wide wave of flame in front of you (you might not like directional abilties, but you'll like that one). At higher levels, Transfixtion shoots behind you as well, and those shot slow enemies, so it's better than you think.

When you get any fire or electrical power you get fine affinity or electrical affinity. With summons you get the demonic stuff to power up summons when you unlock that.

You might have noticed this already, but you can turn off performance mode in settings to reduce the pixellation.

Yooo Dex, you made me discover this game and I got addicted to it really fast, so thank you for that! I think that the wind crown is the best hat basically... It's arguable tbh; there are other decent ones, and I have only retrieved something like 80-90% of the items so there might be 1-2 more good hats but yeah, RETRIEEEVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dex: by chance damage is not good, in 1% case when it doesn't work, it will kill you Also Dex: I'm taking crit chance and crit damage always. Even when my flamethrower cannot crit 😂

Flamethrower actually can crit, just that the base crit bonus is an abysmal 20%

​@@swordzanderson5352I upgraded crit rate and crit damage and up dealing tons if damage. It attacks so many times that even a low starting crit bonus ends up doing a lot of damage when you get crit rate up to 25-30% or so.

The abilities have the variations/bonus abilities that you earn after a certain level, but it doesn't change the base ability, it just adds an ability to then, like the shivers of the blades makes then split up after a few seconds once they've been shot out

Not complaining about going pure damage. Later on you'll need other things when your damage is actually sufficient... But some of the later levels will require A LOT of damage to not have to worry about defense. During the prelude the game was also so hard you absolutely needed movement speed to be able to avoid bosses attacks enough to survive too. Cant wait for them to add more difficulty options again. They've got some unique ideas for that in store.

That's some..... interesting timing on the video, because i´m right at this moment watching it on my second screen, while playing my (kind of RP-character) "Arson Flameseeker", Charr Engineer that LOVES setting stuff on fire, in a Guild Wars 2 meta-train^^ (yes, his favourite weapon is the Flamethrower)

In this game, the best defense is a great offense so you are always right. Damage always wins as if they are dead, they cannot damage you.

Transfixation and especially ring blades are the 2 most OP secondary attacks when upgraded/evolved. I usually hit 8+ million damage with ring blades. Phantom needle and meteor are also very good. Lightning, arcane splinter, and the orbs are pretty bad. Lightning can be okay when it's upgraded.

I think the replayability in this game is farm and collect the armor and create a build around it for each character and ofcourse farm gold to buy the armor you retreave, also you have a "bag" so you can store things there and retreave one of them before the end of the run so you don't need to replace something you have equiped.

My advice in this game is don't treat it quite so much like Vampire Survivors. Try not to walk on enemies if you don't have to; you can get ridiculously close to them without touching them and slide right past. Always try to send any new item you find that you didn't already send up to the Wellkeeper; each item shows if you've sent it before in case you don't remember when you're at the well. Try every spell type to see how it works before dismissing it. There are a lot of good ones that get revealed if you try them out. Try to rank each one to at least 4 or 5 before making your judgement, as alternate effects usually appear around that point. Each character class has a different playstyle; distribute your skills accordingly. I think each one also unlocks new skills and stats you can invest in, so play with each of them as far as you can to see what you get.

Also... you're playing a guy with a flamethrower. Guess how he 'kills the enemies' (^;10 or so)? BURNING. xD Are you using drugs or what?! xD The direct hits don't do even half the damage of the Exterminator; once his burn chance is high enough, he melts most opponents really quickly.

With the flamethrower you really need to upgrade ota damage because it just can't handle the stronger enemies later on if you don't.

it showed that you had a bag with four slots in your inventory when you were choosing armors in the middle of your run, can you put extra equipment in the bag and switch them with your current equipment to get different builds in one run?

Yes, you can equip and unequip items as you play the run. So if you get offered something you don't want to use, you can go into your inventory and take it off to send it back up.

The main weapons have different stats they scale with. This weapon for example is terrible with crit and can't scale area at all. The abilities are the same where they only scale with certain stats.

There are a bunch more characters you can unlock after this as well. The next one after this I got was the Shield Maiden, who absolutely bodied the boss on the first level, along with everyone else.

You need to finish the first map to even consider going to other maps the real boss in the first map is ridiculous and I recommend atleast 18% movement speed buff Goodluck

Nope. First lord I beat was the lord of the third area. Based on my experience, the difficulty of the lords goes from easiest to most difficult: 3, 1, 2. This, however, is heavily dependent on a number of factors. The second lord might have been a cakewalk for the archer, for example, but was difficult for my sorceress build. Maybe you shouldn't casually state your opinion, without full knowledge of the game, as though it's a fact. Your experience is not every experience.

@@donottouch9110 The lords, the enemies that show up at 30 minutes. I do not have maxed out stats. There are many characters and many ways to build the characters. Hell, then there's personal factors, involving patience and focus. What I said, and you did not, was that I was only relaying my personal experience... someone else, playing a different character with different equipment and different abilities might have a different experience.

@@donottouch9110 I'm with Myth. If you clear the base HP bloat of the 2nd map, it's MUCH easier surviving 30min there than killing the 1st map's Lord. I think it's interesting they consider the 2nd lord the hardest, I killed it quite easily (albeit slowly) my first time doing a healing focused achievement run and I'm about 3 for 4 on killing it, but the 1st Lord is just so aggro I'm like 1 for 5. Haven't even seen the 3rd Lord, the 3rd map is so much tankier than the first 2 maps. I'm in no rush to do so anyway, I'm just focusing achievements that unlock something other than only Gold and trying to retrieve 1 item per run if I can.

@@jaeusa160 To be fair, I might be conflating slowness with difficulty for the second boss. I don't think I was in that much danger, but, damn, did it take a long time. Of course, for me at least, a slow boss can make me try to do riskier things to deal more damage, and thus I die to my own recklessness.
