I currently work as a printer technician and can verify that a lot of the info in this video is accurate. One thing that I wanted to lend expertise on is printing issues. I cannot count the number of calls that I’ve gotten regarding delayed/slow printing. The main culprit is typically the way Windows (10 specifically) installs printers. Most users and quite frankly IT professionals just click on add a printer and let Windows do its thing. While this does technically work, it normally results in slower than expected printing. Please after installing a printer, right click and go to printer properties (middle of the menu). Go to the ports tab across the top and look to see if it is using the printers IP address or a WSD port. The WSD port combined with a Microsoft IPP driver will result in extremely slow printing. Maybe not right away but it WILL happen. This is nothing that will ever be asked on any exams but may save you a ton of time and headaches in the field.

Thanks for the valuable input Wade. Any input like is always great for guys watching this who read the comments since this is the type of stuff they'll only discover once they get into the field.

Hello Could you please seperate the modules by the exam(1001 and 1002) if someone is writing 1001 first which modules should he read and also 1002 which should he read
@BurningIceTech3 жыл бұрын
The modules are already split :) The official course consists of 18 modules of which the first 9 modules is for Core 1 (1001) and the last 9 modules is for Core 2 (1002). The videos I made cover exactly the same topics too so if you watch the 9 videos from module 1 to module 9 you would have covered Core 1 (1001). If you watch the last 9 videos being module 10 to module 18 then you would have covered Core 2 (1002) :) I hope this helps. I do want to give you a tip though or more of a head's up. The two A+ exams do tend to cross pollinate on a lot of things so you would be wise to do all 18 modules before attempting any of the two exams. The 1001 exam will focus mainly on module 1-9 BUT, there are also a lot of things in that exams from the last 9 modules so just be aware of that. The same applies to the 1002 exam, they ask things in the 1002 exam which are from Core 1 so if you did not do all 18 modules, they will catch you by surprise with that :)

@@BurningIceTech thanks for the heads up I thought they do their best to make sure the two exams don’t overlap

I made it to 17!!! Almost at the review of my mountain of notes and then the exam! I wanted to ask you, do you think they will ask anything about the OSI model or CLI? Also, a new exam launched this year, do you think I should also review modules from other people who have content referring to the 1101-1102? Do you know anything about the new ones or what may have changed?
@BurningIceTech2 жыл бұрын
They don't ask about the OSI model yet in the A+ exams otherwise it would have been in their course :) If you intend on doing the N+ though, in that exam you definitely need to know the OSI model. Regarding the new 1100 series exams, the content in this course should still for the most part be good enough to pass the new ones too since I've seen they haven't really changed much between the old series and the new one besides moving things around in the modules. Some stuff that used to be in Core 1 is now in Core 2 and visa versa but in the end, as long as you've gone through it all you still be good since 1 + 1 will still be 2 in the exam. Regarding going through more material, it's never a bad thing to go through extra material if you have the time. I wouldn't say it's compulsory but if you have the time to go through extra material, I'd say do it :) The more material you go through the better. I think Prof Messer covers the new 1100 on his channel if you want to check that out. Not sure who else. If you'd just like a different perspective on some of the content, I'd also recommend checking out "The Bearded IT Dad". You can find his channel featured at the bottom of my channel's homepage. I think he also covered A+ at some point. Not sure what version he covered but even if covered an older version, like I said 1 + 1 will still be 2 so most of the content will still be relevant

@@BurningIceTech Great! Thank you! Depending on how this goes, I am hoping to be back for Network+! Thank you for all of your hard work. I have made videos in the past and know what goes into them. Editing can be a huge bitch! I did have one question, although off-topic. Are you a freelance technician or do you work for a business? Just personal curiosity.

@@RaveenReckoning I currently work at a IT Training Company where I teach IT full time for them. I used to be Head of Department for a IT college where I was in charge of all the IT trainers and where I was the person developing the IT courses to get people ready for the international exams. I eventually left those folks because the hours was starting to burn me out. I then went and worked in the field for a while as a main senior IT engineer. While I was working for those folks, one day I got a call from the company I'm at now that asked if I would please come and train for them and yeah, that's how I ended up there lol
