I've never had much experience with burnout. When I was a kid I just played the games my parents bought my brother when no one was looking mainly NSF games and Forza. The only experience I had with Burnout was playing Burnout Paradise with my brother in the hospital when my sister was there obviously when my parents weren't there.

Not sure Mario Kart and Wipeout can be put in the same category as Arcade racers like Datona, Vrally and such. But hey. Burnout Revenge is my personal fave, the checking is good fun and the visuals and impact moments are top notch. And they say it's a Delorien, it's nothing like a DMC12. ;) Great work again dude.

Burnout Paradise is my favorite for four simple reasons. 1) The game has a very diverse driving area. I can spend hours drifting up and down in the mountains alone. Should I get bored of that I can always drive around the city like a madman, pretend to be a locomotive or get into hot wheels mode and do lots of stunts. 2) The handling of each individual car means you'll get a different playing experience. To me the only car that sucks is the Mesquite,. Every other car has its own unique personality. My top two favorites are the Touge Custom and the Revenge Racer. 3) Custom soundtracks. This is the reason I always come back to this game. Driving around at night with intense / fast paced music in the background is something of a high for me. Metal, Eurobeat, and Dark Trance is what I recommend for the best experience. 4) Lastly the online free mode, if it wasn't for this then the game would get stale pretty quick. Nothing beats having a pissed off player(s) chasing you around half the map.

Burnout Revenge x360 version is my personal fav cuz it was a slightly more polished version of 3 like was said in the review. Revenge has my favorite tracks, car design, soundtrack and aesthetic. I liked the grittier color palette, traffic checking and more closed in tracks w/ timed road rage mode; there was never a dull moment imo. I still get why 3 or paradise can be someone’s fav too because they’re brilliant and might be objectively better, even tho revenge is the sweet spot imo.
@mobilesnapper79

Finally found this one. I have to say the last great burn out was the xbox360 revenge. Being colour blind the open world paradise was too hard to see the corners at that speed where as the track based ones were perfection. Yes I know it indicates when to turn but there wasn t enough difference in the colours on the corners to see the gap for me. It just blended so well at speed it was impossible. Burnout also wreaked every other driving game that doesn't have a boost button as nothing ever felt as fast since. Great video and yes burnout is well worth everyone's time.

Thank you for the unexpected trailer at the end. I didn't know that exists! Albeit, doesn't seem like a complete experience, it has promise! Your video is fantastic, enjoyed the whole thing. I wish there could be a remake of B3:T in the Paradise engine, and for DJ Striker to make a comeback with new (and hopefully less cringe-worthy) quips and comments; and to be able to mix and match tracks, setting up your own routes and playing them in 4-player split-screen. xD

Amen. Loved the original on XBOX, and I thought they progressively went down hill little by little every iteration since, losing the character of the original game and making it into some type of over-the-top arcade racer. Almost like they hired on Michael Bay to destroy our childhood favorite *Burnout*.
@TatsTopVideos
@TatsTopVideos 7 жыл бұрын
Yeah. I have to agree some of the handling of the cars in the original game can be difficult. But I think that was because of the cars you may of been using in the video. Ie the Muscle Dodge Viper, Saloon GT or the Pickup. The other cars like Coupe and Sedan are actually alright and fairly nimble. Bus and Tow Truck can be pretty easy too, cause there's a glitch where you can slam into the back of a car (not truck or bus) and you won't activate the crash cutscene. I also like the feature that you see the silhouettes of the drivers in each car, and they took that out of Burnout Paradise. and I love the replays too of the first game. I covered that in my Top 5 Reasons I Enjoyed Burnout ^w^

true, I do like Burnout Revenge's speed though and sound design. I think it's the fastest Burnout game. I'm planning to put that in my video of Top Fastest Racing Games. along with Burnout 3 Takedown. Nice vid. Burnout nut myself, have pretty much all of them. My fave is Burnout 2 (i played 1 & 2 on my Gamecube) as it's combo system is simple yet very rewarding and i feel that crashing your opponents ('takedown' is such an Americanism) detracted from the nigh on perfect simple gameplay of 2. I suppose the crashing was added for online multiplayer .. I do feel however that Ridge Racer, especially Ridge Racers (PSP) and Ridge Racer 3D (3DS) are my favourite arcade racers ever with special mention to F Zero GX for being flippin fantastic. I did buy Dager Zone the other day to keep the support for Three Fields, fingers crossed they can achieve success with their studio and hopefully make a successor to Burnout.

But you know why Burnout 3 is the best one yet? Not only the gameplay plus the maps, but the soundtracks too! I mean, let's face it, listening to rock is pretty damn great in normal days. But in B3, you could literally cause havoc on the road just by listening some heavy rock and pop punk tunes from Ash, MCR, FOB and Jimmy Eat World and so much more!

And I was hooked. Loved the game, loved crash mode (one of the best physics puzzle games ever). fun personal fact. Burnout Revenge introduced me to Nine Inch Nails with The Hand That Feeds. I loved the song and went looking up this band I'd never heard of to see what else they did. My sister was happy to hook me up with her CDs and I was hooked on them, too. Great vid! I do love Paradise the most as well, but all the games are awesome! Paradise just nails everything that I want, the feeling of speed, the precise and satisfying controls, the soundtrack, the ACTUALLY NICELY MADE open world (those feel so empty in most racing games, like NFS, just a few roads and that's all, while in Paradise, there are so many roads! It's so complex, and it's great!). I also like that the game didn't offer any GPS, that made me pretty much memorize the map, I don't have to ever check where's the finish! Oh, and you can actually pick your road in races, there really is more than one method of completing most races!

Thanks for this history tribute to one of my favourite franchises of all time. I was introduced to the original Burnout by a friend via his Sega Saturn, and the Saturn version is clearer and faster. But there is something about the original which was so fun, and just the right balance of skill needed to avoid crashing out. For me Burnout 2 was too easy, Burnout 4 was just a pale imitation of 3, and 5 was just a pale imitation of 4, so the best for my money was Burnout 3. love the DJ, love the gameplay and handling, and still think 3 is the best racing game ever, with Burnout 1 close behind. Never liked any Need for Speed games. Would love to see a history of Katamari some time. :)

Man I forgot how many Burnout games were on PS2. Never played Dominator and only played Revenge on Xbox 360. I really wanted to be on the Burnout Paradise team when I was working QA. It's probably best I wasn't because most of them were let got the moment the game was done. I was working on Battlefield Bad Company and Harry Potter by then. I got to play Paradise early though and loved it. Grabbed it day one and probably played it more than any racing game bar maybe Forza 2. It's nigh on perfect. Plus, you're right, Burnout 3 Takedown can also be regarded as the best for sure. They're different takes on the same idea but both that and Paradise are near perfect. I think they knew that with Paradise they didn't really have anywhere else left to go, which is fair. Would totally go for a PS4 upgraded version of the game though.

they just released a trailer called "danger zone" which from the looks of it is a "burnout" spiritual sequel. but my favorite has to be "revenge" hands down my personal favorite.

Burnout 3 is the best racer ever, it's so damn good, I can't believe EA left burnout in the dust for need for speed, no matter what they did though burnout 3 would always be the best

How about Thrill Drive, an arcade game from Konami? It came long before Burnout series and it has a similiar mechanic like the first Burnout and Burnout 2.

You made a slight mistake - Not all of the DLC released went in The Ultimate Box. Big Surf Island and Cops And Robbers still aren't available on PC, sadly. EA recently put the boost specials, toy collection and legendary cars on Origin, but...I still want to do Road Rage events in a police car in burnout's universe!

I had Burnout 3 for PS2, only one from the series that I actually played through and it is one of the best games in history. Oh the speeeeeeeeeeed you had in the game, mindblowing! So I completely agree with you Dan. Burnout 3 was so well polished and thought out, fit perfectly into the 6th generation console scene. But with Paradise, I disagree. I tried it for one hour, but nothing clicked inside me, that would make me wanna play it more. Maybe my gaming tastes has changed over the years. Being young dude in early 00's, Burnout 3 was like heaven come true. Nowadays I'm just old fart, who can't keep up with these sort of games haha.

The last F1 races were hard, I remember that too. But I managed to play it through couple times anyway. Biggest trouble was the low resolution back in the day, which was issue on the high speeds, because you couldn't properly see the oncoming cars early enough and thus, hit them with the F1 car very often.

That was interesting history of Burnout. The first one I'd played in the series was Burnout 3: Takedown for the Xbox Original which I think is the best game in the series.I had no idea there was another Burnout game coming out. I hope it gets a release on the Nintendo Switch.
