Keep it. I'm in the UK, and I had a built 400ci '76 manual Trans Am from '96 to '05. Wish I still had it. I love the earlier small rear window bullnose gen 2 cars, but even back then here in the UK they were out of my price range. Folk on earlier videos were saying how being a salt water flood car it was scrap, but I pointed out it's almost 50 years old already. A bit of salt won't see it off now. Rinse & repeat. Then enjoy. Wish it was for sale, as I'd love to own it, but I'd have to manual swap it.

Oh, on mine the shaker was functional all the time. The feed from under the hood was blanked off, so it drew air in from the scoop all the time. It had a mesh grill over it which I had to make sure wasn't blocked by fallen leaves, etc. before I drove it. I miss the Trans Am, but I now have a '88 5.0GT 5 speed manual Mustang with a lot of Eibach suspension bits & B&M quick shift, and a Two Lane Blacktop replica '55 Chevy 150 with a 454 and Muncie 4 speed manual, so they're a fair replacement.

Yes amazing how underrated for performance Pontiac was. With some minor modifications you had a great performance motor. The 455s were torque monsters. Had 1970 GTO 455HO many years ago. Had many 400 GTOs and a few Ram airs and they would wind out like nobody’s business

curious if you guys have ever used the salt be gone product when trying to get the salt flushed out of the body? i have seen it advertised as a solution to use after winter or before rust proofing and wondered if it’s worth it or just using warm water and soap does just as good of a job. love this story whom ever owned this car must have been devastated bet they would feel good to know it got a good home! great videos!

Honestly I don’t remember what one ended up on it. We swapped them out a couple times thinking the gasket was hitting on the butterfly’s. It ended up being the throttle cable arm hitting another linkage on the carb.
