Erin I love this path you've taken. I grew up with a abusive mother and absent father. When I married my husband wasn't very demonstrative and could seem cold. I had no self esteem and this year I turn 58 and have decided to find Me. I lost 25 lbs last year and have been searching for the colirs, fashion and makeup that makes me happy. I have decided to start a KZbin channel so that others out there with Lupus,Fibromyalgia and other issues will realize that we're still worthwhile people no matter our age. I am constantly told I look 40 and when I pick out clothing or makeup many times I find myself reassuring myself that it is OK to wear because I look younger,LOL. The problem is I belive everyone should wear what they like and that most styles are wonderful on all ages except my little voice comes out telling me "But not for you." I think a lot of women do that to themselves and it's a shame ,so thank you for this help and sincere caring you are showing all of us with this addition to your channel

Hi Erin- Love the inside-out method of dressing with intention. I have practiced this for years. If you haven’t read “Style Statement” by Danielle LaPorte, it proposes a method to deeply refine your individual style expression into two words. Mine are Sacred Sensual. So every new purchase or outfit is run through my inner filter to discern its alignment with my statement. It’s funny, I even use this with something as challenging as being true to my style in scrubs! I’m a 46yr old graduate student of Speech Language Pathology and spent an inordinate amount of time to pick scrub silhouettes/materials that still somehow feel sensual and feminine. On days off, I LOVE to wear exotic prints, faux leather and fur, etc. My growth edge is to feel worthy of investing in genuine designer pieces rather than knock-offs b/c my former career was in non-profit with limited compensation so I became a pro bargain hunter. I’m gonna start with purchasing the actual Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk set instead of an imitation. I’m sure even this small act will help me manifest a future job that provides greater abundance. Love observing you evolve in your process of self discovery and healing as you share it with us!!!

Love to hear about how you approach style, Suzanne! Even in your scrubs. That is great. You should love what you're wearing and you have found a way to do that in every area of life. I also love how you've added feeling worthy of investing in designer items that you love too! That took me many years to feel worthy of. xo

I love this video. I struggled at first to think of a time I felt really beautiful and then I remembered standing in front of a mirror 21 years ago trying my wedding dress on to show my mum who I lost 7 years later. I had a short pixie haircut and she told me I looked like an elf princess. I never forgot her sweet comment. It was a rare time where I felt beautiful, elegant, regal, a bit ethereal but also just a little bit cheeky and mischievous and sweet…. Like a fairy! 😂 I’m now 50 so I’m closer to fairy godmother age 👀 but I will remember her words and how I felt and now that I’m separated from my husband and starting a new life alone I’m going to embrace making myself feel that way again. Thanks Erin 😊❤

I listened to this when it first came out. I WAS driving in my car, so I didn’t do the journaling, but I knew exactly which photo, and every detail of that occasion. I changed my hair color back to a similar tone, I started wearing more eyelashes, and certain jewelry and it’s been amazing! I get the comment, “You always look so cute!” from my friends. That’s because I feel that every day we are alive is a day worth celebrating. There are no days where we want to feel “meh”, so we should never dress “meh”. And that includes those days when you need to wear sweats or work clothes. They can be cute, too! This can be life-changing! We are worth the effort. 😊

Wow Erin, this is getting better and better! This approach to personal style makes total sense, it is empowering and full filling. You have manifested an idea that has spoken to me subconsciously forever, and I didn't realize it until now. My intentions are to express my feelings and emotions through my clothes by selecting special things in my closet to reflect them, and by being more curated/special about my purchases. You are speaking to my soul Erin. 💕

I keep rewatching this - sometimes just listening as I’m on my morning walk. The first time, I was not able to think of a single time when I felt amazing. At the age of 61, that is just sad. 😢 I’ve been paying more attention to how clothes make me feel and I’m starting to understand why I’ve been buying things that I end up not wearing - they don’t make me feel good because they are not “me”! Two weeks ago, I bought some tall, stiletto cowboy boots - in red. 😍 Paired them with some distressed skinny jeans and a simple black top with a crazy sleeve and felt amazing. My boyfriend did a double take but I DID NOT CARE (because you prepared me for comments from loved ones!). I want to feel like this every day!

Erin, this made me cry. My special outfit: I had just had my son, so I'm bloated, I'm nursing, I am sore and tired. He was two weeks old and I had an event with my hubs. Black tie. AND I had to leave my baby with my MIL....lol I wore my hair up, done professionally, bold lip and a sapphire blue gown. That dress was so out of my norm, it was so beautiful and I felt like a queen. I wasn't a wife, a daughter or a mom, I was ME. THANK YOU, for allowing me to remember that night in all its glorious detail.

This was very good and empowering suggestions. I’m away on VACA celebrating my anniversary w my husband. I have a beautiful white dress which looks great in me which I will wear to dinner tonight and remember you saying to dress for myself to feel wonderful. I wore it recently and got a ton of compliments but I need to get used to feeling I “should” get compliments! (I know-crazy) the attention is a bit of the struggle for me. Thank you Erin!

Hey Miss Erin! I watched this twice through while I washed dishes because it is SO GOOD. Now that my hands aren’t busy I’m going to go play it again and do the exercises. This is EXACTLY what I need right now. I am struggling to find my identity again because I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for 7.5 years now. I feel like I should be able to do this and still dress with intention, I’ve just let so much self-care slip away. The bit about our bodies being dressed in clothes we don’t like and the water inside of us reacting poorly, really spoke to me. I remember that experiment and it never occurred to me to apply it to my body and what I put on it. Thank you for all your insight and kindness. We are in the same place I think, I also want to stop saying “have to” to myself when it concerns self-care. My best friend and I have decided this is the year to be gentle with ourselves and to be as kind to ourselves as we are to everyone else. Same with my sister, she and I will go above and beyond for other people but never put that same energy into ourselves and we spoke the other day about making this the time we treat ourselves as well as we treat others. Thank you for your videos, you are SO very helpful!!! I’ll be back with intentions :)

I’ve enjoyed this video most of all of yours. You’ve got a look that I feel like I want a little piece of and I feel like I figured it out. I’m not overly frilly or a girlie girl per se, but I like being comfortable in my skin. And I see that in you. You totally pull off the blush tulle gown and that just wouldn’t ever be me. But now I feel like I understand a little better what “me” is (when it comes to fashion).

Yes! I’ve been focusing on how I feel when getting dressed for about a year, and I just want everyone around me to know how impactful it has been on my mood and overall well-being. I love to wear black and white with a pop of color, and THAT is my style. I am going to reorganize my closet and put all of my black and white garments together, and all of my favorite colors together. This will help me to see the gaps in my wardrobe so I know what to add. You’re killing it lately with your videos lately, Erin! ❤

Thank you Erin! I so appreciate your videos. In my previous life I used to be fashionable and I showed up for life and work everyday. Then I became a Mom. I got super busy juggling kids, pets, a husband, in-laws, a yard, a house and activities for my family. I didn’t even consider me. I got my hair done and I have a uniform of black pants and some top and beautiful coats. That’s it. So this year is for me-not selfishly just intensional and only you and who ever reads this will know. I am going to sign up for your course as I own a lot of clothes but have nothing to wear. I am rekindling my creative side and going to put outfits together so that I am not always last on the list when we head out the door. I am starting with a more colorful lip-no longer trying to be invisible. And then tomorrow is my nails. Thank you so much. Even though I don’t know you, I understand your spirit and I am so grateful.

Great video. As a 64 year old,its hard to keep this going. I truly believe this, but when retired, there's not much reason for doing all this. However, I have done much of that thru the years. I have a private Pinterest board, I only wear a bold lip, I have made a note section in my phone of what you talked about. I love dressing up ,but,I'm also a jeans girl ! My color is red as well as black, blue and fuschia. I love lace, silk, cashmere ,and velvets. I like a little shimmer as well. I don't like loud prints as well, mostly solids. I have a Mardi Gras Ball coming up with a garnet red velvet dress, can't wait! Plan on taking pics!

That was one of the most sincerest things I think you could have done for other women , I am 74-year-old widow and I thought back at pictures of myself in my mind ,when I was young and beautiful, and my husband thought I looked sexy, it was black with a slit on the side, but I can't wear things like that now because of my age, I want to be more cheerful, I have depression, and health problems, watching death of my husband and my entire family and losing our home and everything just wore me down, but I want to be like I used to be, and feel more attractive so I do wear makeup for myself, and I found now dressing very womanly makes me feel so much better in my heart and soul, God bless you for bringing this up for me, and all women of all ages, especially mature women! God bless you that was a wonderful help to women to think like we used to! when we were young or if we're young to bring it out! Thank you again xoxo Rose 🌹❤️

It's actually amazing. I did exactly that in November. Decided to clean my wardrobe and keep only clothes that I'm excited to wear, clothes that makes me happy. I also started to take pictures of myself everyday to catalogue and see what I'm actually wearing and how it that looks on me. I discovered, with shock actually, that the colours that look the best on me are not the colours I thought was "mine". I always thought I'm "autumn" and locked my self in greens, browns... but from the pictures I found out that I'm actually look much better and Happier in pink, blue and cream, and every time I'm wearing those colours I'm feeling great and have lots of compliments, so totally right here! It works! Thank you so much for your videos and hard work, your enthusiasm is contagious 😊 ❤️ Thank you 😊

This was EYE OPENING for me!!!! Thank you so much Erin........ I used to dress sexy and I grew out of it because I became a mom and I just felt that it was over for me. At first I still wanted to feel the way sexy clothes made me feel (I always thought it was about seduction) BUT...... with your exercice, I realized that I want to feel EMPOWERED! Straight hair pulled back, subtle smokey eye, black clothes, skirts and dresses with straight lines... Yes I felt sexy and I thought it was just that but noooooooo!!! It's all about power for me! WHAT!!??? Hahahah! Thanks to you, I can now look for that in my clothes. I don't say I cannot look sexy because I'm a mom, let's be clear on that... But on a day to day basis, for me at least, I think it's easier to pull off a powerful vibe than a sexy vibe when you are... at the grocery store! ;) So thank you, I finally understand what I was looking for all those years. Love this video! I live and work in a small town. My personal style is typically bold and bright beautiful colors that represent my indigenous side. Needless to say, I stick out. Other women can be especially unkind. I have some great friends that are super strong women that can handle my personality and my style. I just turned 50 and decided not to dye my hair anymore. SO I found a method that will help conceal the demarcation really well. I realized after finding who I am in therapy how much courage it takes to be who you are. You have to learn to blow off hateful comments and allow yourself to feel good because, dammit, we deserve it! I wish for all women that we continue to have the courage to be ourselves on the inside and outside. 💃💎

Thanks for your positivity and empowerment, Erin. You've parlayed your career, which was seemingly external and public (from what you've shared, ) into something more personal and service oriented. We are the beneficiaries. You and your family are lovely. Your demeanor is calm, supportive and courageous. You have the total package, but retain humility along with a much needed honesty and "come on now, step it up" and" find your own strength" vibe, kind of like a benovlent ,yet demanding mentor. I appreciate how you connect fashion and self- esteem. Though your style is stunning and aspirational, it is different from mine here in NH, but you make that seem okay! I'm not a glam girl; I've got more of an East coast traditional-yet hip -aesthetic. Still, I find myself tuning into your You Tube tutorials. Thanks! Best to you from NH! Jo

This video really spoke to me. Thank you for this eye-opening new approach, I spent money on a professional color matching consultation about 2 years ago, none of the colors make/made me feel good. But I kept buying those colors since they were supposed to be my colors, ugh. Never again. From here forward, only clothes that feel good. I intend to create a Pinterest board filled with clothes that make me feel like a rock star, strong, tailored, powerful, smart, loved, confident & elegant; I also intend to edit the clothes in my wardrobe that make me feel none of those things!

I live in a town where it's normal to occasionally see people wearing pajamas and dressing gowns to the shops. One time there was a 6ft man in a one-zee pajama with pink bunny rabbits. So, your channel gives me hope!

Thank you, Erin! I watched every video in the link you shared. I purchased hangers, motion sensor closet lighting, (already had rolling rack) and followed all your steps to edit / organize. Your advice was extremely helpful and inspiring! You said it would take 2 days to complete. It took 2 WEEKS! HaHa. Not a small task, but so worth it. It's fun now "shopping" from my own personal boutique! I appreciate you and thank you so much for sharing your expertise with us all!

Hi Erin, firstly thank you. The visualization exercise was difficult because I am unable to recall those moments. It dawns on me that I have been existing and not living and loving my life all this while.

Love this Erin and you are always such a good example to other women. We need to understand that women have to look out for one another - but we tend to unfortunately do the opposite. As I get older, I have loads of changes and one of these are "perspectives" I have, are changing. About me, other people, the world etc. So thanks for this, I am going to implement this for sure. Lots of love💌

This more intuitive approach (as opposed to just physical and visual) is really awesome! Thank you for sharing. It’s interesting because I would say I lean to a boho style , favorite color to wear is green, but in my visualization, I was wearing a long, black maxi dress. I felt amazing that day and when I see the photo of it, with me holding my toddler son (who is now 11) I felt so beautiful.

Wow! This was my all time favorite video of yours. Such beautiful and uplifting words and concepts. I am loving your content lately. It was always great but you are stepping into a whole new vibe and I am here for it Erin! My intention, after seeing this, is to go into my newly organized closet and really work on putting new outfits together without buying anything new. I’m going to expand my mind a little more. I really want to meet you one day in person. You are truly an inspiration and you are lighting it up girl! Thank you for being here.

When I was very young, I remember I had a full skirt that would flare out when I would twirl around in it and I loved the feeling of twirling which is why later in my twenties I bought a beautiful tulle skirt that had that same flowy feel but I hardly wore it then because I gained weight and now I want to find another skirt or dress like it. Also, I have been working on editing my closet to keeping only items I feel good in. What I want to evoke is that feeling of light and airy. Cool and breezy. Love the inspiration in this video

Thank you❤ my intention is to revise my wardrobe and remove clutter. Only keeping what brings me joy or that I feel and look good in. Select my favorite pieces and replace my favorites/essentials that are old by having a person remaking it for me in a confortable fabric.🎉

Hi Erin! Loved the video! I live in the rural foothills near Lake Tahoe. Nobody cares about fashion and styles here... I try not to get discouraged by weird looks and sometimes even not so kind comments about my love for fashion, pink, and red color and my short blonde pixie cut. Do I sometimes feel out of place? Sure.. but older I get less I care what people think. Also, with my husband battling 4 stage cancer last few years dressing and pulling myself together makes me stronger..

I’m so incredibly sorry about your husband. Sending strength and love to you both! And, I understand living in a place where no one dresses up. The only think you can count on is that people will make comments or look, but that’s part of taking risks! It’s not for them. It’s for you. 🥰

I feel most powerful and joyful when I am active -- hiking, weightlifting, working out. They aren't great fashion moments! But this does help me frame better, how do I want to feel today? And what can I do to feel that way. Useful exercise especially when broadened to more areas of life. Thanks.

Wonderful video, so inspiring and I am taking many ideas from this… one is to put my favorite pieces front and center in my closet. I just realized that not everything has to be carefully sorted by type and color, which ends up burying some of your favorite pieces. I really like your idea of putting the focus on the things that you love and make you feel good. Why not have that visual reminder every time you look at your clothes and decide what to wear? Thanks so much!

Hi Erin, your last two videos have hit me hard - in a good way - as you have made me do a lot of self-reflection. A plethora of suppressed emotions has bubbled its way to the surface. Your channel was brought into my life at a crucial time and I am so thankful to be a part of your community of followers. Erin, thank you for this video 😘 It reminded me, that I am on the right track and simply need to put my wardrobe to the next level - so here are the things I am going to do for myself & my style in 2023: 1. buy less "oh, this looks fun, let's buy it!" which then gets donated a few weeks later as I am not wearing it because it's not really my style 🤣 2. invest in a nice coat 3. finally buy a decent pair of brown ankle boots 4. finding a great pair of black knee-high boots, that actually fit 5. buying a pair of black skinny or skinnier jeans, that don't have me looking like a sausage 🙈 6. and wear my favorite clothes more often and stop worrying that they might wear out - they eventially will, but it's because I thoroughly enjoyed them until then... 😍

...and then you have to realize, that some things just aren't "your style" 🙄 Tried on a few wool coats today, different styles but always the colors that I love - they looked good on the hanger, but just not on me! 😩 There are other things that look so much better on me, like my oversized denim jacket thar's mid-thigh..., so Iguess it's a sign of maturity and maybe already knowing my style, if I can let the idea of me in a long coat go... 😁

I'm 57 and my memories are closely connected to outfits. I have the fushia ankle socks and black lace gloves I wore on the first date with my husband in 1984! I love that you swore (probably because I swear like a sailor) after loosing both my beloved parents one year apart I have decided that " Chuck" those who don't get me because I wasn't created to be invisible like so many people are. I'm renewing my wedding vows next to a river in August it'll be 35 years and I plan on using your inspiration to manifest a look that I will look back on in the future and glow from within reminiscing about.

I am loving the direction you are heading. I am in the group that can't think of a special moment, garment, time etc. I will follow your recommendation to create a pin board and start there. My struggle is that I would love to be able to wear heels because I love that look. Alas, I can't wear heels without excruciating pain due to a bony change in my foot. So I feel this influences my style outcomes as opposed to my style choices. I guess I just need to find peace with my situation and create a new style. Love your work. Xx
