@DonVonGun Жыл бұрын
Thanks :) I am educated Art Director, but have always loved nature and fishing. I have no experience in building other than what I have on my channel, ...besides how it started. I bought an old cheap boat I desided to renovate. I broke everything from each other inside, and planned how I wanted it to look, made drawings and so on. And took it one step at the time. I worked on it for 4 months, and I became more and more in love with working with wood, and seeing my ideas come to life. I had the boat for one season, before a storm in the fall broke it. But it was worth the journey. Now when I build something or construct something I think about it when I am walking Musen, and breaks it down to bits, and figure out ones step at the time. I try to think of different ways to do it. Some times trouble doing what I thought of appears when I am about to build. But most of the times I find the trouble on forehand. ...some times it can take a while before figuring out how to. But figuring out the trouble, is a big reward, I love that. :) I don't work in advertising any more. I stopped some 15 years or so ago. I loved getting to know the firm or product, and the process of finding the idea for the concept. But I stopped because it became to trivial, doing the same over and over. Good advertising is stand out positively, but when it comes to the point most of the costomers don't want to stand out. I got tired of that. I don't watch any commercials, I don't see ads. ...when adbreaks in the radio starts, I change channel. I don't watch the news any more. I always felt miserable after the watching it, so I stopped 3-4 years ago. I still read the news, I shouldn't, but at least I don't have to read it all.

@@DonVonGun thank you so much for the time to write that answer. Art director, huh? No wonder the videos are planned, shot and edited in a great way that conveys alot of calmness, simplicity and skill! I'm impressed how resilient you are, both your boat and your bushcraft shelter broke down. The first due to nature, the second due to human.. and yet you still go, build and share everything! Keep going and do what you love! And thank you for letting us be part of it. I'm inspired and have already built the bushcraft chair myself and plan much more! Again, thank you for putting out those gorgeous videos!

@@joachimtacha3142 thank you for liking and subscribing. It’s not the destination, but the journey there. 😊 makes me xtra happy when I inspire others. Hope you enjoy the chair. I didn’t mention the measures in the video, and I see a lot of shapes and sizes of it. I think the best result is about weist height and shoulder width. If it is to wide you rest the sides og your lower back. And if to slim it’s your spine. Enjoy spring and thanks again. 😊

Heh Don! Your Fire Cabin build popped up on my KZbin today. Watched while I did bills! I thought your cabin design is similar to the lodges of the Mandan/Hidatsa tribes when the Lewis and Clark expedition wintered over in NW North Dakota 1804-05. Three of these lodges were built new in Bismarck ND for the 200th Anniversary of the expedition in 2004 -2006. You would have enjoyed visiting them in 2004. Great work done on your Fire Cabin!

in truth, if i was going for a perm or even Semi-perm tent, i'd probably go with a sidewall myself. 10x12 with steel frame for heavy snow loading, 4 sections rather then 3. Interior liner... then i could look at "luxuries", big cast iron stove that can be loaded up for 10 hour burn times. Maybe an portable toilet and wash station, that could put in a "closet". Hot water on demand propane heater with kitchen area.

What boots are those, and do they keep you warm even in the near frozen mud? My wellies are good for spring and fall, but not winter even with thick wool socks.
@DonVonGun Жыл бұрын
Seeland. Yes they have a very good and thick sole. And they are a bit to big so they stay warmer. :)
@brookeggleston9314 Жыл бұрын
If you get a pair of good fitting felt boots, all you need to do is find a pair of wellies large enough to accommodate them. Then, with Merino wool socks, you will be comfortable in all but well below zero fahrenheit weather! Just make sure you have enough room to wiggle your toes, otherwise your feet will get cold, regardless of how warm your socks may be. Regards from Western Massachusetts!!

The other: Kurt Ghandi The fat pussy cat. Tony Called him Kurt, and I called him Ghandi, because of the spot on his forehead. He ate fish constantly and became round pretty fast. He follows me like the dogs. :) They are welcome in the tent when I am there, until I go to sleep. They are to active at night.
