Bushcraft Canoe Camp on the Secret Island. Wild Camp with Kent Survival.

In this video, I head to the secret island with Andy from Kent Survival for a bushcrafting wild canoe camp in a lean-to canoe tarp setup. We tuck in to an amazing beef stew and dumplings cooked by Andy in his dutch oven whilst enjoying the warmth and glow from our campfire, washed down with a few ales and a few laughs. In the morning we get stuck into a bit of spoon carving after hearty breakfast wraps. One of the objectives of the trip was to name the island, well, we sort of forgot (whether that was due to the ales, I’m couldn't say!) so its still just ‘secret island’! Thanks Simon, your canoe camping videos always manage to bring a mellow attitude and relaxed smile to my face. And for me that's the point of canoe camping in the first place. Some folks always want to make a race of it...how many miles can we make by sunset...set up camp by head lamp, break before dawn and race again. I like to leave the rats to race at the day job.

Nice buddy weekend! Looks like Andy did a really good job with that stew... dumplings sounds like a really tasty addition, gonna try them in my next pot this winter. Been spending a lot of time outdoors with a friend of the family (my wife's cousin's husband). He is a really good guy and its been real fun getting to know him better. He has access to a cabin in our local foothills and we are planning a rabbit hunt weekend and cooking said rabbits when the weather gets cooler. Keep these videos going, you have a keen eye and a gift for showing outdoor fun! Don't know what I will do once I finish watching all of yours...I guess I'll have to start watching Andy's...lol
