I got it from a mate whos a joiner / cabinet maker ... got a slab of walnut and a couple of slabs of oak all the same size chunks about the size of a thick phone book ... the oak is almost 4 times the weight of the walnut and I cant snap that spoon I carved either ... well impressed with walnut strength to weight ratio ... gonna do a bowl with built in chopping board kinda resembling a mini sink and draining board so chopped food can be scraped into the bowl and meat served on the flat surface
