Great job keeping it purely woodsy. Bushcraft is all about using what is available in the surrounding area. This is bushcraft in its purest form. The only cheat was using the tarp for your roof. I suppose one could make cedar shakes/shingles, cut purlins, and create a 100% bushcraft building but I'm impressed with the skills and precision of the build.

Also his cutting board, wood stove, and pipe/chimney. But yes, the rest is woodsy, bushcraft with what was available in the surrounding area.

An outstanding Cabin you have made their partner. Oh, the bigger the wood stove the less times you have to wake up in the middle of a freezing night to feed the Dag-gone thing. The smaller wood stoves are ravenous and require feeding very often. Other than that, I'd be quite comfortable living in your very well-built cabin. I am getting ready to erect a split rail fence along my driveway. The lumber comes pre-measured and precut to order and it came with a price tag that makes you want to cry, but that's the modern world for you. Besides that, I'm 70 years young now so I have to cheat some to get done what I want. I enjoy your video very much!!!!!
@starababa19852 жыл бұрын
There was a Scandinavian company called Jotul, that made wonderful little woodstoves that heated for very long periods with a minimum of fuel. The prices were quite high, but so was the quality. Don't know if they're still in business though.

Fantastic video! One suggestion, one thing i often see, is that people dont really build their beds big enough to accommodate themselves plus their dog. Like, measure its length streched out, and its width curled up, and add those measurements to your bed. Cause you know he's going be jumping up there anyways, might as well plan for it.

Thinking of doing something like this myself. I am gonna be staying with some friends that just purchased 11 acres of woodland property and I'm planning on building a cabin for us to sleep in for the winter. How would you go about putting a floor into something like that? Would it just be as easy as cutting the logs to size and laying them inside? Or would it be better to build a bottom frame that you could put a floor on top of? If you or anyone scrolling through the comments could give me some insight I'd greatly appreciate it
