Love Subby, this was a great play-through. And I'm going to have to go to Discord soon to find out just how to get these MUGEN games / how to run them as I have NO idea at all where to go, what to do, how to do it, but playing stuff like this would be a dream to help get my MK fix. This was a great vid, and certainly think the new additions and tweaks just help enhance the game and keep it that little fresher for new and old fans. The breathing ice, and shards that come up from his slide and the detail on Subby in general deserves plaudits. Amazing work. WELL DONE (to those who made this version and your play-through!) 👊

In this mugen I think it's cool that you can mix and match subzeros fatalites with the ice ball, you can do it with or without the ice shower

The random stage rotation in the MUGEN 1.1 engine is suboptimal, as it was better handled in the previous version (MUGEN 1.0). If you lose and continue, you will not have a rematch on the same stage.

What I like about Sub Zero here is that his throw animation was redone, he was given the throw of his MK3 incarnation, thats a neat little touch

@BushyStallion absolutely. MK2R, like the MK Komplete Mugen, is extremely polished, and could easily pass for an official release, honestly. And it is the little details, like the changes to the character animations, changes to the stage backgrounds, etc, that really put the icing on the cake. For me, I'd say it's at least as good as the arcade MK2, and there are some things that it actually does noticeably better than the arcade too. As you say in the video, for anyone who's never played an MK Mugen before, and wants to dip their toes in the water, so to speak, there's really no better starting point than this. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that, if it wasn't for MK Komplete, and possibly MKP Ultimate Revitalised Reborn, it's the only MK Mugen you ever need to play

You can go into the setting of any Mugen in your computer and set specifics stages for any character during a playthrough. You can even added community created stages and such.

But is it balanced? 🤨🤔 I won't download it bc I don't play games anymore but as a person who was born in 1985 (millennial generation), played all the MK's up to MK4 (Sega Genesis - N64 - PS2), I enjoy watching your playthroughs of these different MAME versions. Some versions are ridiculous and some are decent.

You must love these mugens. Not surprising as they do look good. I mean let’s look at Ultra Street Fighter 2 on switch, Capcom improved everything and made the game much easier for people to play. Makes you wonder why NRS didn’t do something similar with the classic MK games. You know, they were going to remake the classic MK games with new digitised actors, it’s such a damn shame it was canned.

My guess is issues with using the original actors likeliness? These companies are horrid with compensation but its just a guess. Otherwise remastering the original series to me is a no brainer.

The only thing I dont like about this game is some of the redesigns of some of the classic stages. Some of them work really well, like The Tower and The Portal stage. The Dead Pool and the Kahn Arena look too busy and over designed. Everything else looks great though.

That was my main nitpick with the classic MK games, too many characters with the same voice, grunts, moans, and screams. That's why in my build of MK2 UNLIMITED MUGEN, every character has their own voice, grunts, moans, and screams.

@@BushyStallion hey Darryl, I simply downloaded the 4-mb ROM of MK-2 Unlimited off a questionable virus soaked file sharing capatcha site , after downloading it on to my SD Card I just then put it into "bin format" by renaming the end of it , bin and I moved it into the folder called "GAMES" or "GAME" and put the SD info my AT Games Pocket Genesis, , , can be played on the Television also by plugging in the AV cord , , , PS looks a ton better on a CRT TV though , , ,😸👍👍

Have you ever tried Mortal Kombat 2 Plus? It’s arcade perfect however there is a setting that allows for advanced AI and it’s very hard still, BUT it doesn’t read inputs.
