why would anyone play this version when you can play it on fightcade for free and it's a huge down grade on super nes compared to arcade

I also disliked the new voice samples, Guile's being the most egregious. He sounds very camp, indeed. The re-done music and sound effects were also inferior to SFII Turbo.

The sounds and voices were terrible in this game.

SNES version was damn close to the arcade however they changed the character select music for the SNES and in my personal opinion it is the superior version of the menu’s music.

A lot of people "collect" these games, but I watch you play them constantly and I love you for that man!!!

To bad the xbox 360 store shut down. I'm currently trying to emulate the Xbox 360 to play umk3 Midway version on my xbox 360. I have the demo. But that's it. I can't purchase the full version now. I have this arcade version. The midway umk3 demo for Xbox 360 i have is insanely good.

I wish the Single/Double Elimination Format Mode became standard for gameplay purposes.

I have street fighter turbo, super street and street fighter alpha 2 for the snes.

When this came out, everyone wanted to play as either cammy or fei long. No one cared about dee jay or thunder hawk

Loved this game... I had the original, turbo and this - when I think back, bit of a waste of money really for what was the "same" game but anyway, I loved this version the most, guess it was as it was in the arcade and the many characters. One thing if you select a character with any button but hold that button for 2 seconds, you get a secret colour choice for the character... Chun-Li's is a jade green, can't remember the others!

I know some of you in the comment section want to believe the Snes Version is better than the Genesis Version. I'll give you 2 main reasons why it's better. If we are going to hold Mortal Kombat because it has no voices then we'll hold the snes game to the same standard. Genesis actually talks in the rounds saying Round 1 fight, while Snes doesn't even do that. Then after fights the character's face is in blood not sweat.
