From the video, I learned about the localization strategy. This strategy is used when there are big differences in what people want in different countries. Companies customize their products to fit local tastes. For example, Nestle adapts its products for different markets. While this can make the products more appealing to customers. It can also be expensive because it requires making different versions and smaller batches. This strategy works best if the extra cost is covered by higher prices or if it leads to more local demand, helping the company save money by selling more.

This is very important because if you keep customers satisfied, your business will be successful. I did robotics all throughout high school and even met with some of the top executives from Texas Instruments. It was interesting to learn that Texas Instruments uses a global standardization strategy. This makes sense because their products serve universal needs.

The main pressure that was explained in this video that I found interesting was the pressure for cost reduction. In the global markets we see many examples of international businesses being affected by these different pressures in the market. An example I liked from this explanation was a manufactuer mass-producing a standardized product at the best location somewhere in the world. This goes into how a firm could choose to outsource the product for its low cost benefits in order to reduce costs.

I loved this video! It reminded me of the time I was in England and we went to McDonalds. After eating English food for two weeks I wanted just a bacon cheeseburger from McDonalds. When I ordered my food I noticed that the menu was different from the one back in the United States. I got my cheeseburger and I noticed that the bacon was not what I would call Bacon at all. It was actually what the English call Rashers. Which is essentially a slice of bacon that looks more like ham. It was interesting to see how McDonald's had catered to the environment that it was in to become more profitable.

What I found to be most interesting was the pressures of cost reduction. I did not know this is one of the reasons that companies would outsource their labor. I was always puzzled about why a company would take away jobs from people already working in the company. There are a lot of moving parts with specific needs, costs, etc. which can make that process more difficult. Mass Production in an optimal location to reduce costs are not an easy feature, it is very easy to think that producing products in another country will benefit greatly but in reality, there are many factors to it besides the wage of workers. Exporting and Importing goods for me were huge factors in this discussion I had with some friends. So many factors and pressures are dealt with when it comes to this and its nice to hear the different strategies companies can take to respond to such questions.

I really enjoyed this video! There must be a good strategy when performing international business, since many factors play into being successful. It is not easy to sell products in other countries, since the company has to adapt to different cultures and preferences of a specific country in order to sell the product. It can be very costly to enter a market, so you need to make sure by performing analysis based on the model in this video, to know that the market you will enter, has a high chance of gaining sales.

I didn't know there were different strategies for international business and it was interesting to see how different companies take different approaches but can still be very successful. I also like to see that some of the biggest corporations are those that have international business and are not just represented in one company. Globalization and International Businesses can bring so much more profit and value to a company which can be great for shareholders. Great video. Most of the information here are things that I knew on one level, but I admit I did not know the terminology. As for local responsiveness, I have to admit that I relate to Britain in there position on "high-pressure" sales. I receive all of the advertising calls for my company and would much rather prefer a "softer" approach than what seems to be the standard practice here.

They also have to watch out for threats that may come if they don't amount to their full potential.
