Yeah they are moving in and out right now. The just started to move back up and out with the cold weather. Some big ones out there though now. Don't be afraid to go shallow. 1-3fow.

Really enjoyed the break down, keep them coming, Haven't fished in awhile, used to do a lot of shore with artificials, basically at least 1 time a day, now ith's been 2 years since I last went out. Would really be interested in break downs of DuPage and Cook county forrest preserves, allong with nearby like Busse

Nice Video, just wanted to let you know, the forest preserve website has all of the lakes mapped very detailed on their website. It would be interesting to see the video using their map.
@adventuresmidwest30654 жыл бұрын
I got you. It was less of a video on this particular body of water but rather a study in how to find fish anywhere you go. Reading the contours and finding spots. The forest preserve really does have some good detailed maps on all of the forest preserve lakes! They really did a good job with them! Good luck out there!

Great vid! Fished buses several times this year. Looking forward to vids of the other lakes. Have you done much fishing in the winter at busse? Keep up the vids!

Never fished there in the winter but I know guys that have. The warm water discharge is a great place.

@kenz54695 жыл бұрын
You forgot about the hot water discharge area near the main dam. This can be fished year round without ice. Water is super clear with a lot of fish.
@adventuresmidwest30655 жыл бұрын
You are certainly right about that. Also the creek just down from that especially in the early season. I have seem some huge walleyes taken from that area. Good call.

It depends when you go. Twice a year they shock it and return the fish to the main lake. I have caught nice northern there

I'm looking to boat fish at busse for muskies , what would be the best lure"s or live bait 🤔 , great video 👍
@adventuresmidwest30652 жыл бұрын
I would say depending on time of year start out simple. An in-line spinner like a mepps 5 in black or chartreuse. Smaller online plastics with spinners too like a medium rizzo tail. Good luck spring is a great time at busse!

Thank you for sharing. I just moved to the Busse woods area. Since I know no one around here, I want to learn how to fish so bad. Could you please write me some names for rod, reel, line, hooks, baits, etc. I want to have a couple of nice setups. I don't have a kayak. I will start with shore fishing. I would appreciate your support. Thank you in advance.
@adventuresmidwest30654 жыл бұрын
Ok, I got you. Can you please give me what species of fish and type of fishing? For example, bass, walleye, muskie and or pike? Bass can get really involved. I have another video somewhere on my channel that gives every setup I have. Check that, I'll do another vid tomorrow for ya on all my bass setups. It will be detailed so you can replicate. I also have higher dollar setups but can recommend more inexpensive stuff if you would like. Another question, casting or spinning, or a bit of both?? I can get you all setup for sure.
@onerhasturk42314 жыл бұрын
thank you so much for the answer. Since I am a beginner, probably I should go with spinning? I would love to have 2 setups. One for classic, you throw your bait and sit and wait. This is for mostly I am with friends. The other one is for active use. Like something texas rig, you try again and again. I have one reel I was using back home. It is more long-distance surfing for saltwater. Okuma long distance 60, gear 4:5:1, 8/650. Do you think I can use it here too? I don't know many soots. I would mostly go to the busse lake. I have no boat. So, shore fishing. Not sure about what kind of fishes I can catch there, but from your videos I see, there are bass, muskie, and pike. Never caught any of them, but bass sounds cool :). My budget would be around $150 - 200 for each setup. Is it too low? I want to learn some before going for a higher dollar setup. Never use artificial baits, soft warms, etc. However, willing to learn. I used to go fishing around the Greek Islands back home. Lake/river fishing is a totally new thing for me. also, English fishing terminology is new for me. Sorry if I couldn't explain myself well. I read and watch any stuff these days. I heard the texas rig is very popular. Some people use live baits. Some use soft worms or jigs. It all sounds very complicated and challenging. Also, sounds very excited. About Line, I heard people mostly using Fluorocarbon. Hooks, I saw some classic ones, or c shapes, or shaky heads. I would love to learn them step by step. As I said, I want to start with 2 setups. One could be with weight, real worm (or not if possible) to just spin and sit and wait. Another one is for playing. If you go there next time, I would love to come and watch what you are doing. Thank you so much. Thank you so much

@@onerhasturk4231 Ok I have two combos in mind. I would go with a good combo to save a bit of money and get you going. They are from Lews. One is the mach crush for 159.00 and the other is the mach one for 129.00. That will get you a rod and reel. Then you just need some good line. I use 20lb braid and connect it to my fluorocarbon leader. I use 8lb. These two combos are awesome for the price. Let me know what you think about those prices. The crush is really great but if that's too much, go with the mach one. They will do you right, then if you really get into it, you can upgrade into some more expensive stuff. Good luck and let me know if you need any other help.

@@adventuresmidwest3065 I don’t get to fish much because I cover 7 1/2 states, but when I do go out, I hardly catch anything. Me and my buddy fished a few times in the Fox River near Carpentersville, Algonquin, and Elgin. We also recently did the trout opening day at the hollow in Crystal Lake. A week or so. After the opening, I caught an 18 inch trout there. I caught that on a lighter action rod with 10 pound test braid coupled with 4 pound test fluorocarbon.
