I have thoroughly enjoyed this video, and I got so much out of it. I sat glued to the screen. Thank you so much for asking so many questions that could have come directly from me and my problems, routines, etc. I especially liked that you two tackled several myths--I feel that hearing the answers from a dermatologist has laid them to rest for me.

The reason why the ordinary peel is being used like that is because of idiots on TikTok doing it for little clout. People watch these short clip videos and just copies them and doesn’t care to read the label. I don’t think the company shouldn’t be blamed for this self induced stupidity.

Not use acids during the day? Here in Australia I use Vit C & AHAs under my sunblock. In fact several sunblocks have AHAs in them now! I use retinol & peptides at night as Vit C & acids should never be used with either (according to the Ordinary)

About perfumed products, I think people should also be aware that when fragrance is listed on makeup or skincare, it is used as an umbrella phrase to hide 1000s of chemicals they have no obligation to disclose. Its scary.

Skin+Me has transformed my life. I haven't had any breakout since I started using it over 6 months ago. No nasty side-effects either! My skin is still suuuuper super oily though 😒

Using a foaming cleanser helped my oily skin. I watched Caroline Hirons for years who practically made me think foaming cleanser should be illegal so I didn’t use one for years. As soon as I used a foaming one, my skin completely transformed. I wish I had never spent so much on serums and treatments when all I had to do was simply change my cleansers.

@@user-ii4rq5ko3x ahhh see, upon Nadine's advice during the initial mask wearing phase of the pandemic, I invested in the Cerave Foaming Cleansing Gel and that's improved my skin tremendously also, but still by about 2pm my skin is like an oil spillage at sea! Perhaps it's my moisturiser I need to look at. Any advice? Haha

I really liked that one last year as it was mattifying but I'm using it again this year and I look shinier. I don't know if that's because of a formulation change or just my skin getting oilier though. I got a new one today and looks like it still has a lot of alcohol.
@janeburgess86243 жыл бұрын
@@bobthegirl90 yes I noticed it wasn’t as mattifying too . I’m trying heliocare mineral but that’s not suiting me, feels greasy , I end up blotting it before I use any makeup . I use ‘ Simple ‘ cleansing oil and a warm wet flannel so don’t put my head over the basin . I do this twice just wringing out the hot flannel each time and I do use a clean flannel each night . I have made sure that I have at least a dozen cheap flannels on the go otherwise you would run out .between washing them . I find the Simple cleansing oil leaves my skin feeling perfect not too dry and certainly not too greasy, just right . I have been using it for years and whenever I stray to another cleanser I realise I have to return to that oil !!
@Future-zx9ts3 жыл бұрын
A cleanser like LaRoche Posay Toleraine cleanser is creamy and won’t drip, and won’t strip your skin. You can rub it onto dry or slightly damp skin, and then use a damp cloth to remove it. As the other person suggested, a cleansing oil or balm is would be the same. Apply to dry skin and remove with a damp rag, rinsing the rag, ringing it out, and removing again. I usually follow oil or balm cleansers with another non oil cleanser, but it isn’t always required, as long as it rinses clean. I hope that helps!

People with SKIN OF COLOUR should not use fragranced skincares incl EO and drying alcohol. Because their skins are more sensitive
@HereDiianas3 жыл бұрын
As the Dr mentioned it s different from person to person. I am 38 and stopped using perfume and alcohol on my skin in my early 20's because although my skin is oily it is so sensitive to many ingredients. But in my family most people use perfume or anything and rhey have 0 problem. Beautiful even smooth perfect skin, no matter what they put in it when my mum my niece and I must look at every single ingredients. Its always about listening to your skin. If you have any skin issue avoid perfume as rhey don't bring anything. If you have 0 issue and love perfume rhen do whatever but just know one day things might change.
@HereDiianas3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nadine, even if brands are using alcohol to disperse the sunscreen along with other emolients, it does not change the fact that some people just can't take it. And alcohol is not mandatory for that as all my sunscreens I love do not contain alcohol. Drying alcohol break me out and caused hyperpigmentation on my skin unless they are very low in the ingredients list. I had to learned that the very hard way...
@JoR00ke3 жыл бұрын
Would you be kind enough to list sunscreens you use that don't contain alcohol as I struggle to find one! 🙂
@HereDiianas3 жыл бұрын
@@JoR00ke Hi I also have a KZbin channel and in preparation of the summer I published several detailed reviews on sunscreens. None of the products I review on my channel have drying alcohol or perfume because I am extremely sensitive to it. For the sunscreens you have both Dr Sams sunscreens, Altruist sunscreens, Cotz sunscreens who only make mineral type sunscreens, Mommy sunscreen (japanese brand which I reviewed in my favorite sunscreen for the winter), Paulas Choice sunscreens which I have not had the time to review yet, Colour Science which I plan on buying next and also Dr V which also has a channel and recently launched a mineral sunscreen. Hope it helps!
