Comment sections on Turbo 6 Gas builds: " It sounds just like a 12V!" Me: I mean...it technically is a 12V😆 Seriously though, appreciate you keeping us updated. Nice roost from yah in the snow, and even better sound. Looking forward to the 5spd swap.

The 5 speed makes a world of difference, the ratios are better suited to the increased power. I put a 5 speed in my ‘67 f100 with a built 240, never saw a 3.9 liter engine cruise that well in a truck that big. Stock it went 65ish mph (revving out) and with the 5 speed it could cruise comfortably at 75. The 240 had an offy intake, 2bbl Holley, mild cam, best MSD 6AL digital ignition, EFI 4.9 exhaust manifolds and dual exhaust with x-pipe. I miss it overall, but I REALLY don’t miss the manual steering and non-boosted 4 wheel drum brakes! 😂 thing couldn’t stop to save a life, especially at the new top speed! 70-0 was 1/4 mile or so 😂

I just found a ZF, myself. Was looking for a four-speed bellhousing to stick my 300 to the transmission my 460 was on, but I ended up stumbling upon a small block pattern 4X4 ZF5. Now if only I could stumble upon some turbo headers and an Aussiespeed intake, we'd be in good shape! The turbo sounds beautiful, and I *love* those tires. Were you even in 4X?
@WastedPaycheckGarage2 жыл бұрын
These small block 4x4 zf5’s are hard to come by. But yea I was in 4x4 most of the video, didn’t need it in the deep snow but the driveway was solid ice underneath the snow and the truck didn’t want to get going

Wycked Sins I drove a truck for a company many years ago and one of the dispatcher's grew up on a farm that had a small hog operation amongst other things and the dispatcher said his dad bought a new pickup that came with wider tires and after his dad got stuck a few times and had the tractor pull it out he put the skinny tires off the old truck onto the new truck and solved the problem of getting stuck practically on top of the mud because it apparently needed to get down to some firmer substance. I learned something that day. Tall & skinny apparently has it's place regardless of what some of us, like me, thought were probably better. Oh well.

Nice off-road warmup! At least you have room to keep Ol'Blue excercised while the salt is on the roads. Suggestion for experiment on the cutout: get a 5" or 6" diameter exhaust pipe about 3 to 4 feet long (or longer, if possible) & dump the exhaust from the cutout into the big pipe for a much deeper exhaust tone. Just hang it on temporarily with baling wire. It's amazing how much Deeper it sounds, (thing big white Tuba in highschool band) This turbo Big 6 is fun! Thanks for sharing the vids!

Are those just factory height super duty springs? Did you change the rears out as well?
@WastedPaycheckGarage2 жыл бұрын
Yep they’re stock height, part number 43-812, they’re the lightest capacity ones I could get being that the 300 doesn’t weigh much. You have to have custom shackles in the rear for them to work. Didn’t change the rear ones, I plan on adding air bags for towing so it doesn’t squat
