25,999 gross combined weight meaning truck and trailer is the non cdl cutoff and why the whole dump craze took off years ago as cdl drivers were hard to find, so a ram 3500 dually 1ton dump has a max of 14k gvw and leaves 12k for a trailer, thats excluding a landscapers 4 man crew.5500 series truck at 19,500 gvw forget about it unless you want to pull a t/s single axle.

How does big tex feel about you saying the tires they supply on the 14lb are inadequate and will shred on the highway?

Yeah you put bad tires on them at least you admit it that’s horrible and unsafe by your own omission not smart. 😮

If you are planning to max out your load capacity and drive on the highway, upgraded tires are a good idea. We are just advisors

Reason most guys buy a 14LP is due to mcsap regulations. Most guys don't want to deal with the cdl and workers having them.

Either one 14LP or 16LP both are terrible options if they’re made by big Tex.

Do you need a CDL to haul either one of these trailers?

If your vehicle weight + gross trailer weight is over 26,000 you will need a CDL. Vehicles like F-250 & F-350 can range between 6,500 - 11,000lbs (you should be able to find this on the inside of your driver door) add either 14,000 or 16,000 to your vehicle weight.

If you are speaking of transfer weight or pin weight, that is for gooseneck weight ratings only and doesn’t factor into bumper pull trailers. Please learn me otherwise

Show me where it states that tongue weight is only for goosenecks. If you have any tongue weight than that's weight that applied to the tow vehicle and NOT the trailer suspension. Also dozers don't carry anything.

We agree that some amount of the load is being shared by the tow vehicle, but some regulating bureau that makes the rules, probably DOT has determined that it can’t be added to the GVWR. We aren’t the ones to say, “ignore this sticker, your truck is carrying some of the weight so feel free to exceed these limits”

Tongue weight has nothing to do with gvwr combination or trailer gvw. Tongue weight is all determined by placement of load which should be around 10% of your load. Tongue weight with vary depending on what you are hauling.
