I relate so much with this comment! The hardest part about doing something is not the process, rather just making up your mind and actually doing the thing! I never had too much confidence in my skills and intellect. I would always be so confused when someone said, "You're smart but you never use it the right way". I felt that there were unrealistic expectations burdening my shoulders. But now I understand that I had underestimated my own skills and potential. If we are capable of being the worst, we are also capable of being the best!

I love the comment "seek to understand, rather than be understood." It is so powerful and, while extremely difficult to implement, a beautiful way to truly love those around you. A common prayer is, "grant that I may never seek so much to be consoled as to console, to be understood as to understand, to be loved as to love with all my soul." I think, even if a person is not religious, or no matter their beliefs, this is such a beautiful motto to live by!

Hi Amy! I recently discovered your channel at a very tough time in my life. I have always been a fairly excellent student all my life, but I ended up at a really bad and unhelpful college due to financial constraints. Since my exams (I am doing LLB) are externally conducted, I fell behind many former classmates I was saying ahead of in my first year. I have horrible teachers and no other options. Your channel has been a Godsend! I can already feel my motivation increasing, and my brain is again strategizing how to make the best of what I have next year. You're the mentor I needed!

I love the book Rest by Alex Soojung-Kim Pang. It teaches how less is more when it comes to work. I always thought, and was taught by both parents and society, that to achieve things you had to push yourself to the limit. But after a depression and chronic illness diagnosis, that wasn't going to work for me. You can't punish yourself into productivity - especially if you aren't abled or neurotypical. I've also been wondering recently why i was so unmotivated, and it turned out I needed to up my antidepressant dose, not just "work harder." In addition, I realized I was EXHAUSTED and work more productively after a rest.

Summary ❤ The key points of the 7 Habits are: Habit 1: Be Proactive. This means taking control of your own life and not blaming others for your problems. Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. This means having a clear goal for what you want to achieve in life. Habit 3: Put First Things First. This means focusing on the important things in your life and not getting sidetracked by unimportant things. Habit 4: Think Win-Win. This means trying to find solutions that benefit everyone involved. Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. This means listening to others before trying to get them to understand you. Habit 6: Synergize. This means working together to achieve more than you could achieve on your own. Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw. This means taking care of yourself physically, mentally, and emotionally. 1. Be proactive with what is within your control 2. Begin each action with the end in mind: If you died now, what will this action sum up to to contribute to what people say about you, or what you will be known by. AT THE END OF THE DAY, WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT YOURSELF? 3. Put first things FIRST: In the Eisenhower matrix, spend more time in the non-urgent and important tasks. 4. Think win-win: Think whatever help you're giving to someone else, is also ultimately helping yourself. Collaborate with others. 5. Seek first to understand, then to be understood: Listen to others and understand them (be it people or tasks), before trying to make yourself be understood. Seek to improve your attention to detail 6. Synergize: When the whole is greater than the sum of its individual parts. 7. Sharpen the saw: Take the time to maintain things that need maintenance as it will save you more time later. E.g organizing your space, scheculing your time blocks, sleep an optimum amount each day, read a book for 15 minutes, etc.

1. being proactive - Take control of the situation, instead of surrendering to the situation. 2. begin with the end in mind - check if your actions are ACTUALLY contributing to your goals. (you might be working hard, but also not progressing) 3. prioritization - check what's actually important. reflect often. 4,5,6. you help others, they help you back? - making good relationships with people can lead you to have a supportive reciprocation with them? 7. sharpen your AXE - this ties in most to number 2, work smart before you work hard.

Hi amy! I hoped this day would come. I've been watching your videos for a few months. I recently moved to America, and your videos have helped me a lot in adapting to the educational system here. I had no foundation in the language or culture. When I saw your video, it opened my eyes. I was in a state of depression, I didn't want to do anything, and I had no motivation. Even though I tried, it wasn't enough. After this, I made a list of things to accomplish during the day to improve my mental, physical, and emotional state. I chose to read this book, and now I'm writing to you after reaching my first milestone. This book was fantastic, containing things we all want but don't know how to achieve. I'm very grateful to have found you. I analyzed all the habits in a separate notebook so that if I forget, I can review them and try to improve over time until I have internalized these 7 habits. I hope to continue working on myself, even though it's difficult. I know the journey is long, but if I change my way of seeing things, I can do it. This message might be very long, but I just wanted to thank you. Please, keep it up. I will continue to work on myself in search of happiness. I will try to maintain this routine and read more books. So, please, if you have any other book recommendations, let me know. Thank you so much! Keep smiling!

Yay thanks for joining the A-Team! To transition to high school, I recommend the following: - Brush up on your fundamentals (especially math because many people don't have the foundation and struggle in high school) - Have the mindset to try more things in freshman year but reflect so you can narrow down your passions and dedicate energy to achieve in those areas - Evaluate your organization and time-management skills, make improvements if that was a weak spot - Be confident in your own values and your priorities - Overall, if you had good habits in middle school, then you should adapt beautifully! That's why it's so important to set good habits as soon as possible, just like the ones in my video :) Now if anyone asks the same thing, you know what to tell them! Thank you for making our community better!🫶
