To me, personally, gain staging is the most important part of mixing. If your levels are right, it's going to be *so much easier*. Also, arrangement is more important than you might think. Adding new sounds is always a last resort for me. Less really is more.

Thats one of the mistakes i made when i first started making beats i had limiter on most of my project when i found out how to turn it off boyyuu the distortion i wanted to cry
@Minecraftminer30007 жыл бұрын
Weird. Everybody's advice is to get rid of the limiter at the start and add it back in when your mixing is finished, but I like making beats with the limiter on. It gives me a better idea of how the final sound is going to sound like. I've also never had any distortion when I turned the limiter off.

when you are boosting frequencies in the eq 2, how do you know which number to pull up to boost frequencies cuz at the 11:00 mark I see you grabbed the #6 and dragged it like right on top of the #5 but wouldn't it have just been easier to boost the 5 instead since it was already in that area?

I really enjoyed your mix. You explain everything in a simple but consise way, which is what draws me to your tutorials in particular. But in my opinion, the bass was a little too loud. Then again, I'm using really good headphones so it's probably sensible, since the bass tends to disappear a bit with cheap headphones. Thanks for a great video :)

I am serious about becoming a better mixer and beat maker. I have knowledge of music theory, instruments and the basics of FL. I was wondering if you would give me 3 videos to start with, in order to grasp the concept of mixing and the tools a little better. I have watched a few of your videos and I understand like %40 of them. I am familiar with things like sending to the mixer. Adding some reverb or eq but I don't know things like what the knobs even do, or something as simiple as those wave length adjustments you do on the automation.. I wish I could post pics so you could see what I am referring to lol
