Hope the verbal explanation is understandable....
I’ve been around & known of plenty of setups in regards to this topic ☝🏼
Just pointing out the “school yard” misconceptions on people beating their chests on who’s making more boost PSI to one another,
when in fact their setups are so different to one another 🤷🏼‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️
One of many examples i can share is a small block with centrifugal blower (smaller unit), set & tuned on 10psi..... 11.4s et
Simple Blower swap (larger unit) & all re-tuned & again making 10psi on this new supercharger... made +80rwhp more & 10.8s et🏁
So that’s ☝🏼what I’m getting at, psi is just a gauge & measuring/monitoring device for each individual set up.
Volume/Flow/Force(extra cfm) is what makes HP if the engine is acceptable of it.
Of course there is more efficient designs & products, overdrive in blowers & over boosted in turbo capabilities etc....but that’s for next time. 👍🏼🏁

Great Video... With boost pressure you are actually measuring the restriction within the intake system.. like you said you put better heads on a engine you will make more power and see a loss in boost pressure! Keep up the good work sir!

Here's what I don't understand. If all the boost from your forced injection is going into the same intake manifold, then why does cfm matter? The intake manifold did not change size, so the psi that 1 turbo is making should give you the same power another bigger turbo could at the same psi. Also they should be pushing the same cfm if they're at the same psi.

Ok i hear ya....but no they shouldn’t make the same between the two turbos in regards to your Question☝🏼then why would you change to a bigger turbo at the “same psi” if it were just gonna make the same power ?🤷🏼‍♂️ The Lager Trbo/Blower can simply move more air (cfm) at the same given psi read out. So PSI is a measuring gauge right.... It means Pounds/per Square Inch, but it’s actually Pounds”Force”/per Square Inch... Manifold area may not change but everything leading up to it does when you change to a bigger unit, even if it’s a little change up. Everything is still coming & being fed from the primary source.......just so happens the “gauge” is tapped at that same particular point. So that little extra of volume “force” behind it all is what counts at the end in making hp. It’s gets tricky when explained, that’s why i used examples. Also read my Description bit. We had a small block V8 with a smaller centrifugal blower , at 10psi..... We swapped it out for a Vortec larger blower,.....set & tuned it again to 10psi only...... it just simply made more power like 80rwhp & went from 11.4s to 10.8et 🤷🏼‍♂️ , perfect example..... each person’s setup is different to one another was my aim in this, as far as blower/Trbo sizes, manifold sizes etc...when they are comparing psi levels to each other.... Efficiency is another thing & plays a part also if your particular setup is the same but only a larger turbo swap, then intake temps drop alittle with the larger unit not overworking like the smaller unit had too thus meaning can play/alter the tune more & gain extra.....but again always having that extra cfm“force” there readily available due to its extra size...... Hope this helped alittle , it is confusing 🤦🏻‍♂️ 👍🏼🏁

@@69JANKS that helped a bunch and I never considered on how a smaller unit will have to compress the air tighter and faster therefore making the intake temps hotter. Even at the same psi the colder air will have more oxygen. Thank you man that really cleared some stuff up

I think your right. If the engine is exactly the same it can only process so much air before air starts backing up causing the “boost pressure”. The power gain is from the larger supercharger/turbo being more efficient at that range turning less to make the same amount of boost. Superchargers use 100-300hp to turn and turbos can cause very high back pressure.
