@@Pancakegr8 You cannot live in the Neighborhood if you don't believe the Neighborhood exists. Inside the Neighborhood are all the essentials to live. Outside the Neighborhood, none of them exist, so the obvious will happen if you stay outside. God doesn't kill unbelievers. They perish. Up to you to seek the door which others have already found and are trying to point you to. YOU have created the 'monster' scenario to try to negate your own responsibility in the whole matter. John 3 16 invites you to come into the Neighborhood and have life everlasting.
@TBomb392 жыл бұрын
@@wwlib5390 Ah, John 3:16 you say? That's one of the most cherry-picked verses in the buybull. It is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Let's examine the verse: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" Since this verse comes from the buybull, it would be remiss to not point out this contradiction.:(1 John plainly states: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” So, on the one hand we are told God loves the world only to be again told for Christians not to love the world. Since, in both cases the Greek word here is κόσμον, one is fed a flat out contradiction especially in light of the statement of Jesus “Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Perfection is not contradiction! Secondly, if God really loves the world, he would not have destroyed it in the flood of Noah. Love and destruction are antonyms.) Second contradiction: "that He gave His one and only Son", (In Genesis 6:2 we are clearly told: “that the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves, whomever they chose.” Just as the Hebrew states: בְנֵי־הָאֱלֹהִים וַיִּרְאוּ God already had “sons” plural! So one must wonder, even if the Hellenistic Greek writer of John did not understand the Hebrew text, he surely had the LXX which clearly states “ןἱ ץἱןὶ פןῦ טוןῦ”. While Christians get all choked up about God giving his only son, Jebus, they need to read and believe their Bibles more!) Let's consider the implications of this verse. God had to sacrifice his son to prove his love for the world. Really? Kill your child to show love? That's immoral and despicable. And it wasn't even a sacrifice, Jebus came back to life! He gave up his weekend. "that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life" This is a conditional promise. You have to believe in Jebus in order not to perish. The love is conditional. God's love is conditional, like an abusive partner. Conditional love doesn’t feel very nice. In fact, it doesn’t always feel like love at all. When someone loves us conditionally, it means that they put terms, restrictions, or rules on the giving of their love. While a person can have feelings of deep care or affection for you, their love is conditional if it feels like you have to earn it. Additionally, conditional love often vanishes during difficult times. We can perhaps term this “fairweather love,”

We're a country of 340 million people, so it would be difficult for anything that involves every single one of us at some point in our lives to be equally anything across the board. But compared to some other countries I've had the honor of visiting, our system is almost unique in the developed world for how poorly it's handled. I'm from Fairfield Country, Connecticut. We literally have the best rated schools in the country, second only to some schools in Massachusettes. Yet our system is still at the mercy of special interests in a way you just wouldn't see in places like, say, Iceland. Our students are #1 in nothing except confidence and our teachers are threatened should they entertain any thoughts of trying to go rogue and actually teach in a way that's beneficial to their students. Our teachers are forced to participate in a system that isn't set up to benefit the students so much as it's set up to make us good little obedient, patriotic worker drone consumers that can be exploited for profit and labor later in life. To those special interests, our value only exists in our ability to fatten their pockets and they really couldn't give a damn about anything else. And it works so well for those purposes that, due to our conditioning, the powers that be don't even try to hide it. Most of us aren't going to challenge them on it. They're not simply "ideas that can be tested." For example, it's not properly a hypothesis for me to say, "If I spill water on my shirt, it will become darker where it's wet." (It's a pretty good prediction, but it's not a hypothesis.) For it to be a hypothesis, it would have to explain by what mechanism the shirt becomes darker. It reflects less light, sure. But HOW does being wet make something reflect less efficiently? A good hypotheses will predict not only when the effect of darkening will happen but also when it won't. If and when a discussion is made where a person starts using words ..make them use the words as they are defined and described ..not as how they want to use them. If they want to continue a discussion..make them use words correctly where they belong or don't have the conversation. This guy seemed a bit younger..so I would make him repeat what a theory is.. and what a hypothethis is..that he understands the difference is between the two. And then he has to use them correctly when speaking. Evolution the same.. abiogenesis the same.. if he can not or will not use them correctly..then he has no intention to be honest. The discussion is over. I have been using this tactic lately.. a person either uses and acknowledges what a word is and it's meaning and description ..or they are done.. there can not be communication. I apply this to evolution.. and other topics like Atheism or Anti-theism and other things. If we allow the usage of these words to be generalized and diluted to have any other meaning than what they are.. then we are allowing that room for these ignorances and nonsense debates and discussions to continue. I break it down to core issue..and only that issue. They do not get to hop around and use words loosely. Say what you mean and mean what you say. When they use a word out of place I correct it and stop them and make them either talk about what the word they are using or I make them talk about the one they are trying to imply but use a wrong word for. I make them address it. If they keep going in circles I show them by going back to the beginning..start all over. You don't allow them to misrepresent. We need to educate these people and get them to stop making the same mistakes of dishonesty as other apologists have done in the past. If they do not know what a word actually means.. a term used..then you teach them. You show them how the other usages are wrong..and challenge them to go research why some people keep using it wrongfully even when corrected.. Evolution is not abiogenesis and neither are those the big bang theory model. Stick to one subject.. get them to repeat what a theory is..and what a hypothethis is. How they are completely different. And that theories are never a hunch or guess or just some idea.. theories are already tested..modeled, demonstrated they have evidences. In all cases..that is what a theory is.. it is not a theory if these are not met. When they say theory..they are admitting that something has been modeled, it is repeatable, tested and has some degree of evidence to it. Like gravity or germs, or plate tectonics, magma intrusion and uplifting speciation.. it all has evidence..has been tested..it is repeatable. When they use theory they are admitting these things.. so you make them aware of that .. When they say evolution theory you inform them they just admitted it is backed by evidences.. that is why it is a theory.

the general word imo pretty close meaning, since we're might never actually know the real Truth after all, like we might actually be in simulation etc. but it doesn't make the impact of the meaning weaker.

This is one of my favorite clips so far. He gave the evidence in a clear and precise way and the dude basically had nothing to retort with. Ha!

He was reduced to threats of Hell, which is what every Christian resorts to when their arguments are totally refuted. If you can convince them with logic, then try to scare them into believing.

Funny, I was just watching Neil de Grasse Tyson speak to this. He said that this phenomenon is the result of two factors. On one hand, it's a point of pride to live in a country that supports free speech, but on the other, it's a national embarrassment that the country doesn't set higher standards for education.

I take comfort in the idea that even if this bozo could find his way to a voting booth, unless the voter registration form consists of "What is your name?" And he's allowed multiple tries to get it right, there's no way he will ever fill out a ballot.

@Theism is a lying, racist mental illness. Tyson was correct about philosophy.
