I played in bands back in the 80's. Nobody famous, or anywhere near famous, but we(or at least I) thought we were really living the life. Living on the adrenaline that being 21 can generate. Some guys just had it in their blood, some of us thought we did because friends and fans that had no clue told us we did. I'm still alive , but I'm by no means a survivor. This song(and video) churns up all the memories of those days and makes me want them back. The good and the bad. Because that's who I was and wanted to be, it just never came to fruition(I can only blame myself). There is just something in this tune that is very reminiscent of those days long ago. Regardless, I love this tune and what I'm hearing as I explore the rest of the album. You can send along my thanks to Little Steven and his Underground Garage for turning me on to you guys. Now I'm off to try and musically emulate the emotions this song has dredged from the depths of my soul. 🤘😎🤘

you don't know that SouthGang became Marvelous 3 right? The lead singer left and Butch took over on vocals and they did their first M3 album "Math And Other Problems"....but marvelous three is three of the four guys from Southgang so this isn't just footage from his past this is the history of M3

he always wrote the songs so whatever he writes that they play together as a trio is the marvelous three. They could make a marvelous three jazz record if they wanted to. I think it sounds like a nice modern update on what they sounded like 22 years ago

Yea, I get that. Butch tends to go the singer/songwriter route when he's writing for himself. Far removed, stylistically, from the power pop crunch of M3. This sounds a but like the transitional period (Letters, particularly) between genres. @@taylorh4480
