Regarding seamonkeys bringing you items. If you have a blueprint pinned, they are more likely to bring you raw materials needed for that blueprint. The reason they kept bringing you lead when you first discovered how helpful they could be, was because you had the seatruck blueprint pinned, which requires lead to build.

It actually annoyed me a whole lot that they did that. It felt like the game thought I was incapable of getting stuff by myself. If a Sea Monkey brought me something, I'd kill it, and not take the thing it brought. However, I did actually accept one thing from Sea Monkeys...the power that they gave my base from stuffing them in the bioreactor. I had a two-level alien containment for the specific purpose of breeding Sea Monkeys to be used as a power source.

you missed multiple diamonds AND also a glowing PDA at 10:45. there are actually 2 more PDAs that are visible when going down to that biome, from the biome above it. should be on some coral bridge that separates the biomes. probably 100-200 meters higher.

Tip for Butch: When youre in the lifepod go towards the wall behind you and go along it to the right side and go on until you can go up on the land and youll find a base with alot of good resources that you need. oh and for the love of god build the air bladder cause in this game its the most useful item in deep waters if youre running out of oxygen. also the big black fishies die from one good run into them with the seatruck

When you find outdoor growbed it’s handy to grow creepvines. I don’t know if you’ve looked at the creepvine clusters item text but they give you water now. They take up a lot more inventory space than water bottles but with a proper growbed they’re easy to get. And yes the sea monkeys love Al-An, it makes it worth letting him crash in your head until he moves out and gets a body of his own. As a hint, sea monkeys seem to have a list of items they can give you that varies by location and they’re more likely to give you an item if you have a pinned recipe that requires it.

Fun fact that you may or may not have figured out Butch: The Sea Monkeys **LOVE** Al-An for some reason. So long as your nerdy Venom stand-in is with you, if you pin a recipe to your HUD they will occasionally bring you base raw materials for them. Got my first 3 diamonds that way. 2nd tip I just thought about: **USE THE MAP ON THE SEAGLIDE!** It sucked in the first game due to way too much bloom/blue-white light saturation, but in below zero it's essential to not get lost and drown in the end game areas. Once you add mods to your Sea truck you can use it WITHOUT being outside in the water just by stepping away from the steering wheel and scrolling to it on your hotbar. Trust me; there are some secret tunnel systems with worthwile loot you will have a hell of a time finding without it.

Table coral is much more of a pain to gether than the first game. I remember getting into Beliw Zero and it definitely took an hour or two to find it. Good luck as it becomes more scarce lol. Also, heavily encourage multiple bases if you can/want! Hope you're having fun and doing well Butch

Watching this episode with the casual deep cave diving and huge glass modules in the base leads me to think Subnautica would have an actual therapeutical use in treating thalassophobia. But Subnautica 3 is going to be Unreal Engine 5 - much more realistic and, I assume, more triggering

AL-AN is neither a parasite nor a symbiote. The relationship is that of commensalism. AL-AN benefits by having a temporary storage medium, but Robin neither benefits nor suffers from AL-AN’s residence. While potentially emotionally disturbing, if Robin was not made aware of AL-AN in her head, she wouldn’t feel anything different.

I dunno if its just me, but I think the pacing of progression seems just a little bit inconsistant. Or at least, compared to the first game, the Kyanite there was a near endgame material, while in this game it appears while apparently still before midway through.

ALAN isn't a parasite. That would mean it takes something from you that you need. And it doesn't, It occupies a empty place inside the characters head. This is common for ALAN'S species as they live several "beings" inside a mechanical bodie at the same time, and are a hivemind like species, whit not a strong understanding of a self like us. Human see themselves as individuals, the Architects see them self as a collective. So when it transferred itself in to Sams head, it thought in its own species ways, that it would had been acceptable to us. And shows a slight hint of regret after it finds out it wasn't. So a parasite is wrong. However a unwanted hitch hiker is.
