They added the seatruck dock in an update. I wonder if you still have to scan the moonpool to unlock it. I recall the snowfox has a docking platform you need to build too. But I'm not 100% sure. I personally didn't like the way the snowfox handled so I just stock up on fruit salads or peppers and go on foot.

@@guitarman0365 If you listen closely to the 500m logs, it says that the one she dragged was resembling a kraken, specifically if you listen to some of Paul's, so I doubt that's the case, but it could very well be one that she killed on the journey to the arctic, as there are no reapers in the arctic zones
@clasher138
@clasher138 Жыл бұрын
@vduffy6879 The reaper she battled eventually died from its injuries. Since the current in the void caught them, though, she decided to use the corpse as a raft. And since she was on such a large dead body, the ghost leviathans didn't detect her. They didn't eat the reaper either because, as adults, they mostly feed on krill and kill anything that enters their territory. By the time she reached the Arctic, the reaper started sinking because the corpse inflation process was ending. And since there was now a sea floor she could come back for the head later.
@vduffy6879
@vduffy6879 Жыл бұрын
@@clasher138 I know that that with A reaper, but my confusion comes from the fact that if you listen to paul's log, "The End", he says that it was an "alien kraken, bigger than a cyclops", which doesn't match a reaper, which isn't a kraken. I'm not saying the events you stated didn't happen, because the logs definitely state that it did, but I don't think that the particular leviathan she dragged was the same one she killed and used for a raft

The Mercury III spaceship split into 3 when it crashed, so the second ship is actually part of the first one. That red thing is a chelicerate, and it’s Below Zero’s version of the Reaper. Most people who say Below Zero is less scary do so because the chelicerate is less scary than the reaper. Too bad you didn’t finish scanning the sleeper car, it’s one of my favorites because it lets you skip night.

I'm glad you eventually figured out Marguerit Maida was the same character you'd picked up all the audio logs from in the first game. A pretty fun connection between the titles.
@devoutrelic1228
@devoutrelic1228 Жыл бұрын
100% disagreed. In fact, her involvement in the game is most of the reason I'm not a big fan of BZ. She plays next to no role in the story despite being portrayed as a pivotal character. Despite this, her writing is so fun that I WOULD enjoy it, if it made any sense. But the sheer fact that she's still alive completely invalidates the entirety of the first game's story. At no point in Marguerit's story in Below Zero does it even attempt to explain why she just...isn't infected anymore. She never cured herself, it just went away on it's own. Which is so dumb. We're talking about a hyper-evolutionary bacteria that toppled an advanced alien empire spanning multiple planets, and brought life on 4546B to the brink of complete extinction in just a thousand years (which is no time at all on this scale). I wouldn't even mind that much if they just wrote it off in a joke about Marguerit just being such a badass, but there's literally no mention of it at all. They just forgot the Kharaa was a thing. It's not just Marguerit either, later on (SPOILERS) we find out that Sam somehow managed to MAKE THE CURE for Kharaa IN A LAB. You know, the ONE THING that stopped the Architects/Precursors from curing it themselves? The aliens KNEW what the cure was, even captured the specific creature that created it naturally and built a giant structure around it. The problem is that Enzyme 42 is almost impossible to synthesize in a lab without it taking an insane amount of time (which neither the Precursors or Sam had). Yet...she (a roboticist) was just able to make it using *basic grad school chemistry* in just a few hours? The writers of Below Zero seem insistent at every turn to completely ruin what made the first game's story so good despite it's minimalism. Considering the second game was written by a completely different team than the first game, the disrespect shown in the handling of the plot is glaringly obvious.

@@_Rook12 But it's not a nice addition. It doesn't add anything to the game regarding story or gameplay. This isn't me nitpicking, it's just legitimately bad game design. I actually like Beloe Zero, I've beaten it many times along with the first game, but this is a MAJOR problem with it, one that drove away not just me but a large portion of the playerbase. A "plot hole" is typically something minor that is easy to ignore, but this literally flips the entire story over and makes the whole thing meaningless.

Same shipwreck, different parts, Its all the 'Mercury II', Its broken into 3 parts. There is a plant, like the horseshoe shrub, except its fruits are long and dangly, on Maida's iceberg, it is needed to craft the new food item you got the blueprint for. BTW the map you have in the database can lead you to all the Alterra bases, I usually go to Omega, Koppa and Zero early on, pop a beacon, so i know where I need to go and scan them bare, then pickup the beacon again, so i dont clutter up the UI. Koppa will be of particular interest to you.

@someone-ji2zb
@someone-ji2zb Жыл бұрын
@@Dr_sharko Different for me, I think they are the most chump leviathan across both games, and a big reason is because of how little damage they do to the seatruck, and how long they disengage for after an attack. In fact, after successfully dealing damage, it is rare that they come back to you at all, even if you remain still (unless you were in the middle of its patrol path or something). Reapers have a similar AI with the disengage, but the timer is way different. They will disengage, and keep swimming, but rather than a long timer that prevents them from reaggroing, they have a very narrow line of sight, so if they happen to turn just enough, they will come after you very quickly, which leaves the possibility of getting wrecked wide open

A few things that will help. Build a small base near areas where you have to go deep so you can catch your breath and head back to the surface in steps rather than a long push. Take more than one O2 tank with you for longer explorations. If you are looking for a story line game out of the water, try Forever Skies.
@someone-ji2zb
@someone-ji2zb Жыл бұрын
If this were the first game I'd agree to an extent with extra tank, but below zero makes it so easy with those plants that you really don't have to worry much at all. They streamlined oxygen a lot (too much imo). Also you can carry more if you don't have extra tanks, which saves a lot of time; as a base builder this is far more valuable than being able to mindlessly zone out on oxygen if it means I can gather a lot more per swim Funny enough, even in the first game people swore by carrying 1-2 extra tanks, but then you basically can't carry jack crap on you. Hardly anything required extra tanks, and even the things that required additional help (big and complex caves) were very much optional and usually not even the best way to get resources. Going to sound harsh here, and I am not meaning it to be.... but the bottom line is that if people depended on extra tanks beyond the first 15%~ of the game, then they just sucked at the game. I am not trying to harp on a play style, but if we are talking effective play, then effective play does not require more tanks.

Your point about the zombies biomechanical limitations is why I have always said I will opt for crushing weapons in a zombie apocalypse. Headshots are cool and all, but obviously they are not being controlled by their brain so that's not going to do much but make a mess. I’m on holiday to Tunisia at the moment and I went on the jetskis to try and overcome my horrendous fear of deep water/ ocean . I ended up coming off and had to swim about 15ft back to my jet ski and I cannot tell you how terrified I was 😂

@@DankMadness12 wdym, we are literally just saying the truth, the chelicerate is smaller and more passive than the reaper

@@reptilechurrasquero9048 smaller, yes. More passive, depends from person to person, not a fact. I've seen reapers not attack someone people for a full minute while they swim right beside it and seen chelicerates attack people seemingly out of their aggro range the moment they appear in the biome.

Hey captain butch. Here is one advise for around 90% of the wildlife out there. Just run them over with ypur seatruck. Besides the leviathans you can basically two or three hit all of the aggressive wildlife with your seatruck.

29:48 Depends on the type of zombie you're talking about. You're right when talking about the Hollywood The Walking Dead/World War Z type zombies. However - you're wrong when talking about the necromancer-raises-them-by-magic type of zombies that are common in fantasy RPGs. These are created by magic and function as long as the magic works. In some cases they might change into animated skeletons if all their tissues is gone.
