I hope people my generation will remember you also like I did and thank you for making us a crafter of our own.... Now, I've been using all the things I've learned from you since I was a kid, up to now at art school.

Those are some lovely designs! And I’m looking forward to trying this method out soon. I’m really grateful for all your tutorials - I’ve made some notebooks following them for friends and family with some little paintings here and there as a personal touch, which they’ve loved and actually used (perfect for when I was a broke student lol). I wish I were able to support you thru patreon, I definitely hope to do so once I get a job and stable income because I love your content and I’m sad you don’t get the views and support you deserve for the effort you put into your videos and how useful they are, practically speaking. I’ve tried to find other tutorials but no other channels are as clear with their instructions or as “zen” and enjoyable as yours. I usually binge your channel while I work on bookbinding projects lol

I just made your double needle Coptic stitch book... and my book looks so much like the one you created here. When I saw the thumbnail I was amazed. Of course, it is a different covering, but the color and pattern are quite similar. Your double-needle Coptic stitch tutorial is by far the best out there of any bookbinding tutorial I could find. By far! I will be making more notebooks in the future. Will try this method next. thanks!

Great video, thank you. My only question was how loose does this kind of binding feel? It doesn’t look like the signatures are that tightly bound together, at least when you laid it flat, and I would want it to feel much tighter and not be able to see the stitching at all from the inside of the book. Does that make sense?

This seems deceptively simple and makes me want to try it. How would it work with a hardcover?

After your first signature, you would loop through the hardcover holes and then into the next signature. Similar to how I showed in the double Coptic stitch tutorial: kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXOzo4J8fpWehsk

Brilliant tutorial. Say, would you mind terribly making a tutorial for this method but using a hard cover? You mention it in passing in this here but I can't understand what you mean. I did a search, but if i search for Japanese 4-needle all the results are about the Japanese four hole method instead. And if I search for Butterfly bookbinding, something else entirely different comes up. Thank you.

I've just done one 💖 How do you keep all the signatures neatly aligned? OR there should be some space for asymmetry? (I mean the edges of the paper, some are more forward than the others ;; )
@SeaLemonDIY3 жыл бұрын
My signatures are that way too. The middle pages move forward when folded in half. I don't really mind it, but you can trim the book edge of you want them all to be the same :)

What do I do if the bookbind spine that I did was loose? How do I tighten it up?
@SeaLemonDIY3 жыл бұрын
It can take some practice to get a feel for the right tension. If you've already bound your book and it's too loose, you can cut the threads and rebind it (I've done this many times). But also know, exposed bindings are naturally a bit loose which makes the pages open flat.
