www.fishingdvd.... - Once you have caught your trout, you need to know how to prepare it before cooking. Here we look at how to butterfly the fillets, and prepare the fish so that it is boneless. I just started filleting fish and this is by far my favorite method of doing it. Thank you for the video, it helped me a lot!

If it is like an freshwater rainbow trout that you find in North America you can make a couple of incisions hugging the row of pin bones on either side and pull them out. It is easier than picking them out.

After spending my weekends the last few years catching fresh trout, I'll never eat one I catch that came from a hatchery or farm. This is just massive for a trout

@KillerCapuchin - Farmed fish brother, good for eating but not much else. The ones you catch are worth twice this one! All the best with your fishing! The Fishing DVD

This is nicely done, though I would suggest that you use a knife wife a longer blade, and leave the tail on. This allows for better retention of meat, and then if you wish to skin the fish, the tail makes for an easy point of entry to cut down to the flesh and then across separating the meat from the skin. Very nice cut on the ribs. There are also pine boning machines on the market, but I prefer my 20$ tweezers. (The girlfriend hates that my tweezers cost more than hers)

i like this video - very clear instructions - you can use this on smaller fresh water rainbow trout and brown trout - the bigger fish shows you how to do it better, thx heaps ;-)

Yeah! As a tout fisherman I'd be likely to buy that bone a picture frame and hang it on the wall as a trophy!

Not a fan of farm fresh fish make sure you know what there fead you will know if there cutting corners do your research be healthy welthy and wise.

Filleting trout or salmon using this method wastes meat and requires a lot of unnecessary steps.
