That night was the first time I did acid and I loved the fireworks but honestly this stage was a gateway to hell in my mind at that time, the drummers really helped that idea

My first gig was Butthole Surfers, just after Independent Worm Saloon had come out. I was 14. Our moms gave me and a couple of my boys a ride there and back home. That night changed my life for real. Proof I'm still at home listening to and watching videos of these freaks now almost 30 years later.

they filmed this video at the lake castaic show back in 1993. it was july 2nd. the lineup was beats & blunts, firehose, stone temple pilots & butthole surfers. i was lucky enough to score 2 hits of really strong acid in the beer garden before firehose came on. that show was one of the most intense shows i've ever seen. to this day i can't tell if half the shit i saw that night was real or a hallucination.

I was at that tour show in Miami Bayfront Ampitheater and this girl I just met fed me about an 1/8 of mushrooms and it hit really hard. Gibby was shooting a shotgun blasting huge balloons over his head and above the crowd and I hadnt noticed but I was about to get utterly wrecked by a group of skinheads and some SHARPs just picked me up and set me off to the side and and they all started beating the fk out of each other so I walked to find my other friends and some kid ran up and said "Hey I saw those SHARPs just save your ass!" I asked what SHARPs are he said (Skin Heads Against Racial Prejudice) That was the first time I heard of that. And my first time seeing Firehose...amazing... I think I happened to see Firehose play a club in Fort Lauderdale which may have been that same weeknd or someother time. Those fkg 90s huh?!

at 2:57 there's a shot of a shoe being thrown that hit the microphone stand and bonked Gibby in the face supposedly chipping his tooth. this took place at the Lake Castaic show in Castaic California on July 2nd 1993. I was at that show. the played with Stone Temple Pilots, fIREHOSE and Beats and Blunts. i was trippin balls on 2 hits of really good purple blotter acid and i saw some shit that night that i'm still not sure was real. when the shoe hit gibby in the face he was so pissed he stopped the show and tried to pick a fight with the guy who threw it. he eventually continued with the show but man he was mad. one other highlite of that show, during Stone Temple Pilots show Scott Weiland was also hit in the face with a Vans shoe. he stopped the show and said "I'M GONNA DEDICATE EVERY SONG I SING FROM NOW ON TO THE FUCKER WHO JUST HIT ME IN THE FACE WITH A SHOE!!". aside from these two incidents it was a great show. firehose rocked, beats and blunts played for like 15 minutes while most of us were still in line to get into the show. i was lucky enough to score some acid from a hippie i met in the beer garden. i had to drive home back to thousand oaks that night. i was still trippin balls when the show was over. i didn't come down from that acid until about ten the next morning. one of the best nights of my life.
