I love this, Butthole surfers for me is a supreme art band: Punk attitude, comedy, exploration, friendship, wildness, real underground spirit, noise and caos spirit, believe in what you do, killer guitars influenced by Hendrix and other acid musicians. In some acid trips i have felt so lonely and melancolic cause i felt that nothing stop time in this reality, and the moments of joy in youth are blessed by luck but gone forever, and when i hear the surfers i became more convinced that laugh is the best way to live, it cures the soul, and take you to the present moment (here in Perú the shamans recomend that in ayahuasca sessions, to laugh, to laugh about everything, even the sorrow) Good day people.

I saw this tour in Boise, Idaho with my best friend. We were both fans of the BHS morbid catalog… I remember the show blasted off with 100 Million People Dead and it blew our freaking minds. The lights, projectors and effects were out of this world. I can’t imagine what a late 80’s BHS show was like.

In those days, 80% of the audience were tripping balls, so the pit was pretty fun

I think what truly separates the butthole surfers from other bands is that they did hard drugs, and crazy stuff yet they never truly broke they're friendship, and they drugs didn't really fuck them up to the point of something terrible, unlike lets say John Lennon, or the actual alvin and the chipmunks. They stayed true to themselves

Pretty sure they’re digitech rds time machines across the top. I think he used those mostly back in the day. The euro rack stuff came later. You don’t know how long I’ve been looking for this video.

I got a video of his box from a 2022 School of Rock concert. He had two Digitech 7.6 delays witb a Korg Chaos Pad on top. Paul Green said he showed up for practice with a different rig every time but always settled on the two for the show due to their reliability.

The thing on the right center is a digital signal generator. There's another modular test video that shows a more clear picture of it.

Top of the Rack is a Digitech Time Machine, Lexicon PCM 42, The Modular rack is Tip Top Audio. Not sure what the first 4 pieces are. The last one is a Z-DSP-VC Digital Signal Processor. Tip Top Audio has changed their look so it's hard to say what the other pieces are.
