I love when Tony has real hockey people on the show. I’ll never miss a show with Craig, max, Pierre, knucks, or anyone else who cut their teeth in the nhl.

Love the show Tony, I check in several times a week. Love it. But Tony, your response to putting a player in a position where they can't measure up or keep up, at the 35 minute mark, was in a way for the player to make a spectacle of themselves, that others would notice that players short comings, and I love Craig's immediate response, "to help them grow".... Dach had missed a ton of growing time, building his skills and being apart of a growing team strategy, and being apart of learning new play structure that could've been second nature by now had he had all that injury time back. Dach is going to be a special player and things are going to start clicking right away. I've seen bits and pieces here and there and they're going to start happening more and more frequently. I hope if you were his coach you wouldn't put him in a position to Embarrass him but to teach him, and for a guy who's trying to get it all back and fight through his own personal battles(maybe fear, Timidness, a little ptsd after the injury he suffered last season) I don't know, but he will defeat these things and he will play great hockey, but "McDonald's mentality" doesn't belong in a rebuild or in a recovery, and Dach happens to be a part of them both. Grace, Mercy, Encouragement, and the Belief in that someone and their Ability/Talent will do more for someone than shining a spot light on their mistakes. Dach is going prove to everyone that he is that special type player that our coaching staff knows he is.

If this is good as it gets I’m fine with that. I’ve watched all the video I could have of him and once in better game shape the 5 v 5 will be there too. The one that gets me is that anyone that has done well on this team has played with Suzuki. He makes everyone around him better.

By the way Rotenberg is a little more than just SKA's head coach, he is e.g. Co-owner of SKA and Deputy CEO of KHL's Board of Directors.

I feel that Laine has pushed Caufield off his favorite spot on the PP and is getting more chances than Cole to pull the trigger. I see a problem brewing, in that Caufield cant be too happy.

He’s got his bag. He’s happy for 8yrs. If it was his contract year I could see him being unhappy. He’ll be ok.

When other teams visit Montreal, they'll think of Laine and how to contain him.

I thought in Winnipeg they seemed to push Laine farther out, with more difficult angle to score

It's important for Caulfield to develop his 200 foot game because as much as I like him, he is not the sniper that Patrick Laine is. I've thought for a long time that Cole whiffs on too many one timers. He misses the net way too much to be considered a sharpshooter. I don't know if the team can pay him what they are paying him and pay Laine as well. Maybe Laine is a splash in the pan but if he is for real, well, ......

If Buffalo want to trade any of Thompson, Cozens, Tuch, Byram, Peterka 😊😊😊😊😊 or Dahlin, one can dream but hey they did trade Eichel and Reinhart so anything is possible

I don't know what it is happening with Buffalo; on paper, they have a good team. To bring back the old coach Lindy Ruff might not have been the greatest idea...They needed a coach to energize them/to wake them up !!!

@ maybe opening up positions up top and having former NHL executives with experience as head of hockey ops would help rather than an owner who knows nothing about hockey would help. I understand wanting to be in the loop and vetto'ing decisions and all. You could still do that with NHL guys at the head of your franchise. Just an idea...Molson finally let go and let Gorton take the reigns. There's an example. Those guys instill the culture you need to win.

Personnally, I have no qualm with the way Ska is using Demidov. Hard coaching, but we don't get the possible shortfalls like a bruised ego.

So they traded for a 5'11" 174 pound 28 year old defenseman who is -14 and this is going to help how? Unless its part of a trade package, it doesn't make sense when people talk about "playing a BIG physical defense in the playoffs." By the way, Hutson (who I think is fantastic) isn't 5'10" unless Suzuki is 6'1" or 6'2" because I saw them next to each other while celebrating a goal.

You read my mind...while most teams try to get bigger defensemen for the playoffs, Montreal just acquired another small 175 lb defenseman. They possibly just got another french rightie because they will not resign Savard or just wanted Matheson to play back on the left side ??? Too bad Barron did not work out in Montreal, but it also shows why Colorado was right to trade him away...same for Newhook !!!
@rgood1204Күн бұрын
@@powers1500 - Exactly. He definitely filled 2 of the Montreal "want to have" french and right handed. So far the deals Kent Hughes made for Barron and Newhook haven't been great and Dach will be 24 next month. I know not everyone can come back from a bad knee injury in a year, but he's missed enough time that I believe was crucial to his development, that he may never reach his potential (whatever that would be). I'm starting to think Chicago saw something that made them say "he can go" and Montreal saw a 6'4 220 lb center and took the bait.

Disagree...this is as good as it gets for Laine...he is a shooter not a player...and once his production drops off...he will look less than ordinary...
