240 hz version of that MSI monitor is still available on Newegg for 500$. As far as I can tell its exactly the same except refresh rates. You won't be getting fps above 240 outside Counter Strike so why not just get that. Got myself one for 480 on Amazon but its out of stock now.

There is absolutely no reason to go above 240 fps on 1440p. You have to put everything on low settings just for minimal less input lag which you won't even notice.

I have no idea what to pick up, QDOLED or a WOLED monitor. My room has ambient light from my blinds which are behind my monitor and sometimes my ceiling lights are on. I heard the blacks on a QDOLED screen can get washed when hit with such light and that makes me think WOLED would be my best choice, although I've never used a glossy screen I would like to especially if I'm paying big buck for a monitor with OLED. Refresh rate isn't something I'm worried about as I'm currently on 144hz 1440p, 240hz would be ideal and 4K.

The grain on the Asus XG27AQDMGZ is the MLA panel. This thing gets bright, bought it as soon as it went on sale at Best Buy on Monday and its incredible! Stalker 2, COD, LoL, Red Dead Redemption 2, Total War: Pharoah, Chivalry 2 all look INCREDIBLE. Huge upgrade from my Dell IPS 165Hz. The screen is very similar to my Sony A80L Oled i have in the living room. The quality on this monitor is fantastic too, just feels solid and premium. Highly recommend!

@@thedisplayguy Uses a different generation of MLA panel though. Also, looks very close to the finish on the Sony TV's. I suppose those are "semi-glossy" as well? Regardless, this coating has plenty of clarity and if someone complains about graininess on this monitor, you might be searching for flaws too hard. Perception can do that. Overall, I'm recommending this over QD options. The magenta shift is ugly and looks cheapish. And QD colors are great, but just seem so wildly artificial and exhausting.

That's not true, the mag can do updates now, it couldn't at launch. So now the difference now is the usb hub, kvm, and rgb. Personally not worth it for me but that's up to you since you're still in your return window you could exchange it.

Not really where i live, only a couple of the 27" 240/360hz oled 1440p, that i'm looking into, that are on a decent discount, the rest is just meh price cuts or non at all. The only 360hz that are on a good discount is the Odyssey g6. Black friday is mostly nothing to get excited about imo over here.

No, you really don't want matte screens. They just destroy your screen colors and contrast. Yeah you solve a glare problem good for you, but destroying the screen quality.

@@greymr4038 Ordered the other one. 3225qf. Gonna be here in 2-3 days. Msi one is 200 more even with all the deals. It fell a lot, from 1400-1500 to 1100 but alienware came out cheaper from around 1100 to 900. I dont know why but msi stuff pricing is whack locally. Only reason i can think its priced that much higher is that it's a full panel whereas alienware one is a bit cut down and slightly worse in very technical details that are probably imperceptible. Aside from vrr that is. Do hit me up when you get it if you remember :D

I almost bought that AOC kept bouncing between that and the mini LED because and saw it the instant they dropped it down to $399. Only thing is along with gaming i use Lightroom and photoshop and was afraid of burn in...kind of wish i would have rolled the dice to be honest. Also as im posting this it says you can still buy it on amazon in the US but the price is $575.92 now, maybe they messed up the price drop.

The refresh rate was amazing, but that monitor has issues with running custom resolutions at 480hz. I couldn’t get it to work. Also, my monitor ended up dying on my 1 month in after light to medium use. I returned the asus 480hz. I ended up getting the Samsung 360hz for $609 on Amazon. I can run custom resolutions at full refresh rate without issues. I can’t even tell the difference from 480hz to 360hz tbh

Overall QD-OLED is superior to W-OLED in text, colour and brightness. Burn-in wise, W-OLED might has an edge due to addition of White pixel, but this is still debatable.

@ yes, but that is more of an environment affect rather than a technical limitation. Something you can control by getting a matt coating and room setting. Anything Asus is the best, but at a cost. It is not that much more superior to justify the extra cost. I only have been into Oled research for 2 weeks. At first I was leaning toward Woled more, but now I am getting Qdoled monitor with glossy coating. The upsides outweighted the downsides by a whole lot. @MrMeoow91 Thanks, maybe you're right... Idk. Tbh, I doubt I'd be able to tell the difference once it was calibrated given that I'm not an expert... I've seen a lot of the comparison but the trade offs seemed marginal at best. The MSI one shown in the video is more expensive than the woled but the 240 Hz MSI is sold out in many places. Maybe it's best to just get on of these discounted OLED and be content? Too much theoretical comparisons for this limited time window, I only started at the beginning of the week.

@@Duranous. Get the best deal you can in your region that suit your usage and budget. In the end, you can't go wrong with any of them. The uplift in fidelity compared to LCD is immense. Just make sure that you get one with at least 3 years burn-in warranty.

The 1st is matte woled, while the 2nd is glossy QD-OLED. This is all subject to use case but it's pretty much agreed unanimously all factors being equal glossy qd oled > matte woled.

I have microsoft/LG/Nvidia stumped at the moment. Other than 'Buy a display cable' they cant figure out why my monitor just decides to lock out 144hz refresh rate at QHD. Microsoft reinstalled remotely Windows 11, and it enabled 144hz (because some how it was removed from the advanced display options) but when you enable it, the DESKTOP resolution becomes 1920x1440 instead of QHD, while the DISPLAY says it's at QHD. It's able to uprez to 4k60, but if I enable QHD (at 60hz because the it simply will not enable at 144hz despite having over 3000 hours of use in QHD at 144hz), the DESKTOP is at QHD but DISPLAY reads 4k. The only answer they can give is use a display cable, but that literally doesn't solve the issue. It circumvents it, surely, but even using a different HDMI cable doesn't solve the issue, and using a different HDMI slot on my 3080 desktop doesn't solve it. LG wanted me to pay for a repair visit at $350 plus tax, but my monitor is $220 on their own website. This situation is pure comedy to me. But for now I'm locked at QHD 60 until, I guess, I go buy a display cable.

Any chance that the HDMI cable you are using is HDMI 1.4? The limit on HDMI 1.4 cables on (2560x)1440p resolution is 73,78hz (which will probably turn to 60hz).

@ yea I updated the firmware and put up the saturation in the windows calibration . It looked better after that . I ended up going with the MSI 4k and the difference is noticeable . But for 400 it’s still a great monitor imo for that price point

Not to be a debby downer but as an fyi, i picked up the AOC Agon Pro AG276QZD2 from amazon and it came with a dead pixel and MANY scratches on the screen. I wish it didnt have any of those because the monitor itself looked and felt amazing. Now i picked up the Asus ROG Strix XG27AQDMG and comparing it to the AOC Agon Pro, the AOC looked much much better in terms of color imo.

I think it’s a preference thing, but colors on glossy screen looks a lot better to me. I think if you want color accuracy you would want glossy and if you look at spreadsheets for hours I think matt is less distracting.
