Ohhhh Soooo True, my personal issue in my 2019 Silverado is the 8 Speed Transmission. Local Dealer where I purchased the Truck tried to convince me that I needed to do a Triple Flush of the ATF and have the "Upgrade" ATF installed "$800.00 cost and I was going to have to pay for this, even though GM has a TSB out for the issue. I went to my local GMC dealer and they did the Flush on the Drive Train Warranty. 500 miles later, the Shutter and Slipping issue returned as bad as the first encounter. Now the GMC Dealer replaced the Torque Converter and Valve Body. 730 miles later, Transmission Slips when cold and I hear a Clunk noise and feel the clunk accelerating or slowing. Now get this, all the issues began with mileage 7400 on the odometer. Currently have 8490 miles. If they don't replace the entire Transmission, I and going to sell this Truck and NEVER buy a GM product again. I know I am not alone here.

No issues with the brakes on my 2019. Same with the 2014. The rotors on both of my trucks are some of the better factory rotors I have seen. Particularly since I live in the rust belt and might wash the salt off the rotors a couple times each winter. The nitirided finish they use is awesome. Pads are just okay but they don't make dust like the Ram 1500 I had for a year. The worst brakes I've dealt with are Ford OEM brakes unfortunately (rotors are okay, but the calipers kinda suck).

Since you barely drive your rides a clean early 2000s machine could last the rest of your life. I flog mine and none of my rides are newer than 2000. Another option is leasing instead of purchase since there's little point in being trapped by ownership.

Theres a history to this issue. Some decades ago we didn't have warping rotors or exhaust manifolds. They were much better quality because they had nickel in the cast iron. They decided to take the nickel out to save money and that makes the metal more susceptible to warping, cracking and erosion. Those rotors must be made of pot metal now. Why buy a good looking brick. Recalls don't stop the addiction to buying cars and trucks that are garbage. They design them to fail knowing you'll keep buying them. If vehicles were designed to last then no one would need to buy a new vehicle. The auto industry knows the buying habits and buying addiction people have for their bricks on wheels. You'll probably buy another GMC brick because your addicted to their pixie dust. American cars, SUVs and trucks look good but they turn into bricks. The biggest mistake made was bailing out the American auto industry when it collapsed. They should've let it tank so something new and great would've come out of the ashes.

It sounds like you have a bigger issue with Brembo than you do GM engineering. 16 Denali, 17 Escalade, and now a 24 ZR2 all stock and no issues with standard brakes. The only “issue” I ever had with a GM and brakes was upgrading my CTSV to Willwoods. By issue, like you’re complaining about, there just expensive to maintain. The pricing you looked up online of the OE Genuine Chevy parts, not the Brembo parts. Also, you said early, it was out of warranty, so why would you expect them to replace them under warranty?

@quyle9483 looking at getting a 24 hybrid. Man if that sucks too. Idk what truck to buy. I'm legit not impressed with any of them. And I need truck seeing as I sold the AT4. I'm not buying tho, this time I am leasing. AT4X has best interior, best exhaust note. I can't do a ram unless trx, (hate the huge volume knob for shifting) Also I don't want to keep a 100k$ truck outside. Never been a fan of Ford. So would only get a baby raptor and they are full msrp. Don't like mid size trucks. Paint on tundra I'm looking at wasn't great. Ram trucks the paint sucks. I just dont honestly think any of them are worth the money. But I need a truck. Sucks

@@quyle9483 Yea 2022+ Tundras are having main/crank bearing failures like crazy. That's on top of all the other problems they've been having. Toyota "quality" is a myth anymore. Turns out a ton of those trucks have had engine failures too and they definitely weren't due to neglect or abuse. the 2GR is just junk compared to the old 4.0L.

5 year old brakes on the audi right next to it. No issues stopping from 120 mph. 11 year old brakes on the amg in the garage, pads worn maybe 1/16. Rotors mint. No issue stopping from 160+ mph. I was going to do the brakes myself. As I do on all my cars. But 1300$ on parts my cost. Stealership wanted like 2500 in parts. Either way brakes brand new cost 3k. Calipers must be 100 each huh lol. I sold the truck to carmax last week. Value has been dropping fast. Not putting 1300 into brakes on a 12k miles vehicle I bought upgraded brakes for.. they should have put new rotors on it at 5k under warranty. But brakes are wearable.

Brembo brakes make me cringe. That being said my 2020 6.2 Sierra Denali 1500 factory brakes are barely worn in at 45k miles and work just fine, and I drive it aggressively. Have a 2016 sierra with 100k on it, still life on factory rotors and pads maybe 5-10k miles left on them. Don't ever buy brembos. I had a 2020 genesis with them and they were known to warp rotors on the g70 and kia stinger (same car practically). Sold the genesis fast. Brembos are a sales gimmick, even when they work they will wear out faster and cost more to replace. Honestly in my experience GM has had the best brakes out of everything i've owned. Especially an old 05 and 06 caddy sts with upgraded FACTORY brakes, not brembos.

Unfortunately, all makers are producing problematic models. Stealerships are goldmines of profit from doing the repairs needed. The only way you can keep up is to be an amateur or professional tech and have the tools and facilities to do the work. There's a wealth of knowledge online, but one must invest time and money to be this person. Heaven help you, if you have to depend on stealerships for your repairs. I feel for the owners that have these issues of factory defects. It also doesn't help that many manufacturers have products and parts made off-shore. It's all by design. The people that take your t ax e s and make up laws are in bed with the builders and the outcome will not be good. It's been my observation that the majority of vehicle owners abuse and ignore the regular needs of vehicles. Failure to do so ends up in expensive repairs. Only with sacrifice of time and energy can one stay on top of our vehicle's needs. But, most definitely, the design and quality of the finished product has steadily declined. They could make them better. But, they won't. They need people to buy new cars and trucks. The End.

Seems more like a BREMBO problem and a rich guy who is butt hurt about a brake setup that he over paid for just because it was Brembo and could brag about it. When I ordered my truck, saw the option and thought. Only a dumbass would pay for that, knowing any repairs would be expensive as hell just because it says brembro.

The new Tundra is a POS. Engine failures like crazy. Just about every youtuber that bought a 2022+ Tundra has had their engine blow up and Toyota drags their feet with engine replacements unless you have a big youtube channel. The new Tacoma had the front diff fail when TFL Truck (youtube) was driving one on a slippery surface, barely even giving it throttle. The 3rd gen Tacoma is a pos. My 2016 was practically a lemon and Consumer Reports rated it least reliable midsize truck for like 3 or 4 years in a row. Unless you can find a 2nd gen Tundra with the 5.7 that doesn't have the infamous cam tower oil leak, there aren't many options. If you can go midsize for your needs, the new Nissan might not be bad.
