Before I would blame screaming eagle I would put most of the blame on the last person that installed the equipment. Because it’s possible they didn’t check shaft run out and not properly lining up the old pump .

The install matters as much as the parts. If the pump isn’t set up right it will wear just like yours did. I would blame the installer rather than the parts on this issue.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. I put that SE kit in my '02 Glide with over 100,000 miles on it and rode it for another 20,000+ miles with zero issues. I suspect either whoever put the parts in you r bike did it wrong in the first place or they used damaged parts. The actual SE kit comes with a much better oil pump (which I don't think you have there) and a few other bobs & bits.

The SE cam plate is fine - that stock oil pump that you showed in the video was the issue. More than likely, it was installed incorrectly by whom ever did the work. Few real issues reported with the SE cam plate and oil pump if installed right.

A very important step is to check crankshaft runout. If you dont and its excessive this is guarenteed to happen. Its not the Sceaming Eagle parts. Earls cycle repair BRR 649

I put that same cam plate in my 2000 RK in 05. I paired it up with Andrews cams. I've NEVER had an issue.

i put a screaming eagle cam plate with screaming eagle oil pump in last spring. ive put 10k on it so far and runs like a champ. oil pressure is right where it should be and runs nice and cool. this went into a 2005 flht electra glide. i did all the work myself to make sure the job was done to my standards

SE isn't as expensive as S&S or Feuling , I rebuilt my cam chest three years ago in '11 Road Glide at 71000 miles , outer tensioner shoe was fixing to go , I put SE cam plate and pump in because I was leaving on a road trip and they didn't have S&S or Feuling in stock .. Cam Plate and oil pump were five bills , oil pressure is great and no issues . You just bought it in January , so you probably really don't know the history of the motor .. Thats not a SE oil pump , that looks like the OE oil pump ..

Hmm, have you guys checked your crank run-out on the cam chest side 🤔. If not you're gonna face this problem again with whatever you installed. Screaming Eagle is good stuff ,especially that oil pump, while there are some components could be improved on. Otherwise good while maintaining EPA & CARB compliance with warrenty to boot.

There is no epa or carb compliance for cam chest buddy. The cams yes.. not for the chest or oil pump. They do not change the motors tune in or emissions..More than likely This guy just isn't grown enough to acknowledge how much he doesn't know.. plain n simple. Crank run out.. suspect.. sure.. as well as oil pump gear alignment. But maybe he just got a lemon Fueling does a bit of Harleys actual r&d. I would go with them. They fix what harley can't figure out.

You have an upgraded cam plate but that's a stock oil pump and not a screaming eagle high flow pump, which is junk. My OEM pump failed, so I know the difference. Either way, sorry to hear about your troubles. Good luck!

Actually he was holding a "fueling" box which is easily best in the business. Same time I have the full screaming eagle kit in my bike no issues. I'm 99% sure that oil pump he showed was stock. That is where his problem was not the screaming eagle parts themselves. Someone cheaped out and tried using the OEM oil pump that was already screwed from the OEM cam chain tensioners. Thus why the parts were installed, to remedy the piss poor harley spring cam chain tensioner issue. Bottom line these guys dont actually know what they are talking about or he could have actually articulated why the parts failed instead all he could say is "junk" every other sentence with him and his heavy ass grandpa bike.😂

As some other comments install of oil pumps is important I've a 2000 dyna wideglide installed the screaming eagle cam plate and oil pump to get rid of the spring cam chain tensioners and up rate the oil pump. 20,000 miles no problem, and later 06 to 11 models suffer from excessive crank runout so adds to the problems. Screaming Eagle is no different from the Feulings kit you just installed.

Hmm well just had screaming eagle cam plate and upgraded oil pump and zippers cams installed in my 05 EGC now have about 300 miles so far. Work done by a local Indy shop that has many success stories using these, and I looked at reviews of these parts prior to having work done. Only thing that may have happened to you is possibly the oil pump was not centered up as installation calls for due to known excessive crankshaft run out with these 88" twin cams and caused pump to fail, hopefully all is well for your ride and I don't experience issues you have. If you've been around Harley's all your life you should know not to touch anyting before the 96 in. Its tried-and-true.. but for a little bit more you can get the 103. I would never buy anything else especially carbureted,, or a milwaukee-eight... You can't afford to own anyting but the 103.

I did a Andrews gear conversion and the installation manual clearly stated to check the crank TIR to be within spec prior to installing the gear housing , and its critical to get the oil pump aligned. You need special tapered guide pins to properly align the oil pump housing.

Could be a stock oil pump Jason, don't know for sure. The oil plate, which is Screamong eagle, was the issue. As I said in the video, there's a 2010 twin cam with the same issue about to have the same thing done to it. Thank you for your comment.

I got a complete SE Stage III on my 2018 M8 Low Rider. Not even 17K miles on the bike from new and the SE valve spring crapped itself. Told the dealer to shove up his you know what replacing the valve springs with new SE parts. Instructed the dealer to order in S&S valve springs because clearly the SE valve springs are just not up to the task. Cost me the equivalent of a month's rent in the repair bill.

Someone may have installed the stuff incorrectly and also looks like a factory pump. I use both aftermarket and Screaming Eagle on different builds and they all work fine if installed correctly. Then again, maybe you got a Friday afternoon special. The assholes at the factory leave metal shavings sometimes inside engines when they bore out holes and stuff so this wouldn't surprise me.

Previous installer was a bum , and check runout , let us know what its at . Do not assemble a new oil pump with just swabs of oil , some do it , dont be one of those guys , assembly lube is crucial to initial start .

My brand new M8 114 motor had a long sliver of metal at the top of one lifter hole in the case. Had I not opened it up to install an aftermarket cam it probably would have ended up trashing the lifter and possibly the whole motor. Could be something like that plugged your cam plate. HD may have some quality control issues.

Same as above: the bike did not come with screaming eagle plate and pump. Whomever installed it either introduced foreigh materials or did not respect clearance causing failure. Ihave a CVO 110, I'll be puting a screaming eagle plate & pump with 585 cams.

Had that same camp late kit in my 04. Never had an issue and didn’t cost anywhere near 4 or 5 grand. Was like 1300. At an Indy shop and was quoted around 15 1600 from Harley. But have someone i know that has this kit and the oil pump blew up. Gonna suggest fueling

If you do a stage 2 upgrade which is bigger cam and dont upgrade the lifters and the pump isn't set up right S&S crap will fail too. Basically you Screamin Eagle stuff was installed poorly!

When I bought my first Harley, I had no shop connections and consulted with 5 who didn't give any bad press, with one of them recommending the SE? I suspect yours was either not properly installed, or you had excessive run out on the shaft?

I’m not disagreeing with you about SE parts but, I would lean toward the crank/flywheels causing the wear. I had a .57 thousand runout on my 03’,.. bought a SE stroker flywheel, had it lightened, cases balanced blueprinted bored to accept 117” cylinders from DarkHorse, was using a SE cam plate, had it polished up local shop that is very respectable said it is all good. Like I said I’d look at the runout/walk on the crank/pinion

I did the s&s 509 cam upgrade,oil pump,adjust push rods, lifters myself for 1800. Easy to do and peps those 88's up a bit. But I know several who used the screaming eagle hydraulic cam plate and had no issues at all.

Sounds more like it didn't have enough assembly lube when assembled, oil seal was jammed in wrong on assembly, which is extremely important it doesn't, cause this is why it won't scavenge oil, then runs it dry. It happens, they also get left in the hole also, then another seal gets installed by accident doubling it up, also no good. These are likely the issues, could be combination of both. Where's the cams? Where's the improved bearing they sell you with new cams when you buy this kit. That goes on Primary side of cams, Also old piston connecting rods on new cams, they can be ovaled also, HD cams are the strongest made period, so you into another, $3600, minus the cost of a stator, voltage regulator, that's cnd dollars tho, If seals were perfect, it wasn't for a fact started dry after installed, seals on oil pump, wernt doubled up, cams were in spec with run out gage! With in .03 , they may give you money back, think with right to repair laws your covered, or should be, they have two choices, 1) honor there quotes, 2) honor there warranties on parts. I got quote for install, they renagged, so you have no choice but to install your own, pretty much there motor for anything older then 10yrs for there bikes, tech's are all computer guys now. Few older bike tech's left, down to manuals, parts diagram, torque specs, right tools.

I've got a oil pressure issue when idling.....the same sceaming Eagle stuff..... The oil pump is not broken....SE pump.....the valve is fine.....I cleaned every single part in ultra Sonic.....Put everything together again....adjust the oil pump correctly.....the same issue..... No oil pressure in idle..... Now I 'll Change it to another brand. The oil pump shown in the video is SE.....No O-ring.

You cannot even have this conversation without measuring runout! I guarantee this was not installed properly. Part of "proper installation" includes checking runout!! My guess is that a shade tree mechanic.... not onlike your buddy there installed it and didnt install it properly, and you may actually have excessive runout. You may have the same problem again before you know it. There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with the screamin eagle parts.

Rode panheads when that was all I could afford (1963) first bike was a 1952 FLH and shovels hadn't come out yet. They were horrible, straight bearing lower end, noisy and shed parts faster than you could tighten them up, cracked everything from vibration. The early shovels were better but still not great. I did ride a '79 Lowrider for 90.000 mi but had to freshen up the top end at 50,000 cause I had a base gasket seeping but that was common. The Evolution motor was the most trouble free motor that H-D ever made. Enter the twin cam, except for the cam chain tensioners going tits up at 15k to 20k miles they weren't too bad. After 2003 quality control is nonexistent they went to a straight roller bearing in 2003, crankshaft runout became a common problem instead of an occasional problem. You can buy a Timken bearing conversion for the '03 and later. Anyway, yes that is the stock oil pump. Ride a Victory now, plenty of power and absolutely bulletproof. My Crossroads with cams, better intake, timing wheel, Lloydz airbox, PC5 and a dyno tune and I smoke 117's all the time. Still can't figure why they quit making them and kept Indian. Really really don't know why people thin panheads were hot shit, there was a reason that we put shovel top ends on them and why everybody was using the pan rocker covers for ash trays.

There are no problemes with the SE camplate. Now your oil pump is whats old. Sonebody did not change the oilpump when the SE camplate went in. The new SE camplate/oilpump combo is by far the best on the market right now. Someone got cheap when they swapped the camplate out
