The Chevy Bolt gets a lot of criticism, but it's definitely a lot of bang for your buck. I bought mine in January for about $32,000 out the door making it about $25,000 after the tax incentive. It's been a really good commuter vehicle and for that price, the issues with slow charging don't bother me at all.

A lot states have extra incentive like CA, MA, Colorado... For example California has federal $7500 + state + CA clean energy rebate = almost $13k rebates

@@n00bprof82 I'm really glad that a lot of states also have incentives. If I had bought to car in Colorado, it might have been $13,500 after incentives. Alas, in Texas, I'm lucky to be able to have one at all.

I purchased a Bolt EUV a year ago August with the new battery factory installed, received almost $13k in rebates & incentives, So it cost me $26k out the door, I now have 27k miles on it already, I It's the perfect commuter car. With Gas going up to over $7.00 here in SoCal I am so glad I bought this car!

@@n00bprof82 that 26k included a xtended warranty up to 100k miles for $2200 and sales tax around $2400. The msrp was just under $35k

I really like my '23 Bolt euv Lt; it does everything I need, and is one of the most affordable evs out there. I bought it as a commuter only, but have ended up not wanting to drive anything else; I sold all of my gas and diesel vehicles since buying the Bolt. Whatever Bolt you look at, I highly recommend making sure it has a N2.2 or N2.2a battery; they're the fixed ones, and have no recalls against them. 20 out of 140,000 Bolts burned. I wish it had a heat pump, or one were an option.

In August, I bought a 2023 Bolt EV L2, although I ordered an L1, because the L2 was the only one available at my local dealer. Chevy pays for the standard installation of a 240-volt outlet for charging at home, a $1250 value. After I declined two bids for a custom installation at double & triple the cost, the third offer was for a standard installation, so I jumped at the deal!

In addition to federal and state incentives, be sure to also check into any local (county/city) and utility incentives. Those can be a help as well. 😊 Great video as always, Max.

Word to the wise, I had a line on a '17 Bolt at a dealership about 70 miles away. It had only 20k miles on it and had just received the new battery, along with a new 8yr/100k battery warranty, all for only $12,400! Slam dunk, huh? But then someone on a forum pointed out that DC fast charging wasn't actually universal on the Bolt, and when I looked more closely at an online picture of the engine bay, indeed the two heavy orange DC power cables that normally run from the front of the inverter to the driver's side charge port were missing. I very nearly bought a slow (er) charging Bolt! Keep an eye out for this as you shop. You can also tell an AC-only Bolt by the lack of the little orange flap over the DC portion of the charge port. Also, beware of ads from dealers listing unreasonably low prices on sub-$25k Bolts. I've found quite a few unscrupulous ones that are advertised prices that already reflect the $4,000 federal used EV rebate, then only mention that fact clear at the bottom of the fine print. Drives me crazy because I don't meet the guidelines for that rebate. I'm still shopping but hope to be a proud Bolt owner soon.

For the very early Bolts, DC fast charging was optional. Check that on early used Bolts.

I bought a new in 2019 bolt ev premier for 40 grand 4 yrs ago. 47 thousand miles in perfect condition. I was offered 12 grand for trade in.I told them to steal someone else's vehicle! I'm not too happy with GM dealerships. The only electric I can afford is now getting price gouged! I was a conquest customer, from Toyota. I love the Bolt, BUT I'm not too happy with GM right now......

I think the bolts a keeper, 12K doesn't cut it. It seems you need to advocate for yourself more nowadays, definitely applies the Chevy dealers.

In February 2024 I am looking for a used 2020 Premier. I am seeing them at dealers from 15.5 to 18.5 before a 4K tax credit. The original sticker on these were 42 to 45K. I am close to buying one but since so many have come off lease and are not selling well the wholesale price has dropped 6K in 6 months. It’s a good time to buy and a bad time to trade and because of the tax rebate an impossible time to sell privately.

My EUV PREMIERE bought new is one and one half years and 7000 mi.old. It never fails to delight when behind the wheel. My advice: buy one. You'll never regret or look back.

@rp9674 as of today, 10-18-23 there are at least 1400 for sale and gm is still.making them.until the end of the 2nd week of December, checknout cargrus and call dealers they are selling at a clip of 20ish per week

I found the income limits for the federal incentives differ between used vehicles and new vehicles. The income limit to qualify for the federal incentive on a used vehicle is much lower.

The 2023 Chevy Bolt beat out more expensive EVs in a snowy mountain road endurance run. The fully loaded cost $35,000. I did get it with a trade-in, and rebates, and the government $7500 incentive, for $1700! That is no error. It was less than $2000! I love it! Why did GM stop production? Not enough of a profit and it cut into the sale of other GM EVs.

Who cares, you have 8 years warranty on it. It's pretty IMPOSSIBLE to burn the battery down unless they have a high amount of milage on it.

Yeah me too.. the exact reason why I bought it. But it's all good, it's still a steal. Bought mine for 31k waiting for my clean air rebate, and federal and then after getting it plug them payments in and it will be about 15k-18k easy. Then refinance and pay the same amount before the refinance and I'll own the car less then 5 years..

New euv with super cruise cannot be ordered. Only dealer stock. Sunroof and cooled seats available on euv. Otherwise get ev. Don’t let the epa numbers fool you. The ev is much more efficient than euv at 70mph highway speeds.

Ventilated seats are only for trim premier and as package supercruse is still on pre-order or dealership as well. additional $2,200. It is "Super Cruise - a hands-free driver assistance technology for use on compatible roads1". EV is lighter, no powerseats and smaller against UEV.

EUV has little or no extra cargo room, more rear-seat knee room, less rear-seat headroom, less range & acceleration, for me it was an easy choice I got a 23 EV, went in for a 1lt, got a deal on a 2LT. Hard for me to understand, but some people just want a bigger vehicle, even if it's big for nothing. Euv has rear heated seats and door locks, still not worth it to me. Also SuperCruise has a SUBSCRIPTION FEE.

It's a federal tax credit, so you'll have to fill it out with your 2023 taxes

Car had to be purchased in 2023 and you have to make under 75k if it's used. If you meet these qualifications you get 3000 tax credit on your returns. If new you get 7500 and you can make 150k.

Autonation keeps supply low to charge premium fees for what they have in stock. Martin Chevrolet had over 40 in stock when I got mine in January. With my costco and uber discounts, I was able to buy my EUV LT redline edition, with leather seats, safety and comfort packages for 34000 out the door, with lighted charge port and all weather floor mats
