Wow it’s amazing to see a archery spot where you can walk in and not immediately get treated like garbage because you don’t have the most expensive and newest released bow.

Hi Chris, I live in Belgium, and recently bought a bow for 3d shooting in a pro shop! Very friendly people, but luckily I found your channel! I first went out with a 41mm visor that I couldn't see completely in the peepsight! I returned this with a significant loss of value and paid extra for the Axcel Landslyde Plus Carbon Pro AVX-31 Hunting 3D Sight. this was mounted completely incorrectly on my left bow! There was almost no lateral adjustment possible due to this error. Only after I had carefully followed your video about this visor, did I remove it myself and mount it correctly on the left bow! These two extra threaded holes for adjusting the second axis solved the problem! Thanks again for your help and the knowledge you spread!

I didn’t mean to upset anyone. I was just sharing my own experience with them. If people have good service there, by all means! I’m more than happy for people supporting small bow shops. I won’t be supporting this one in particular for what has happened in the past. Hope you have a good day!

Good perspective Noah, its obvious their focus is on growth and revenue which there is nothing wrong with. I think the point Chris makes without saying is that you're just one customer out of many and you shouldn't expect an individualized experience from large shops like this. Best case scenario is you can acquire the tools and the know how to build a bow yourself like Chris, if not then look for a smaller shop that can focus more time on each customer. SLC is a small area with a lot of people, they are just trying to move them through quick to turn a dollar. Kudos to Chris for posting videos of his bow builds, thats the level to aim for.

Pretty cool. Do the big shops like that charge full retail? Setup fees? Hopefully the shop I own will be that big one of these days
@jackbuendgen389
@jackbuendgen389 2 жыл бұрын
When I worked at a shop (the biggest one in MN), we did charge MAP pricing. We only charged tuning or set up fees if the person did not buy the bow or accessory from us. If you bought anything from us there was no set up fee. From what I hear geography plays a part too. In the east they charge for EVERYTHING, but they'll typically throw in a thing here or there. In the west, typically, if you buy a bow from them they'll tune it with no charge as long as you own the bow.

@Ricatonniisasavage8854
@Ricatonniisasavage8854 2 жыл бұрын
What do you call a “Budget” Release? Most Thumb Releases of Good Quality are in the $150-$250 range. You can find some cheaper than that, but if you want a Good Quality release for a reasonable price, I recommend The Carter Brand, specifically the Wise Choice which is what I shoot. I have a Wise Choice 3 finger and A Nock2It 2 Finger, I have both set with a Heavy Trigger, almost as if I’m shooting with Back Tension. Nock2It is also what I hunt with. Best Thumb Release I’ve ever shot and it’s built like a Tank.

From my experience expect a bow that needs major adjustments and tuning. Also expect a bow that has been molested by every Joe that walks into the shop. In my honest opinion, bows should never be put together in advance.

I got my Halon 32 ordered back in 2017, bc my local Bow Shop only had The Camo Halon 32 and I wanted the Black 32. The only two people to ever still have shot my Bow, are myself and my local Bow Technician lol. I recommend, if you have the patience to wait, to order your Bow, that way you know who’s hands have been on it and who in particular has shot it. I would also recommend buying a Brand New Bare Bow and Building it up yourself.
