BT50 is a good truck built on a shared chassis and good value. Unfortunately you broke the golden rule never buy anything of value blind. You wouldn’t buy your house blind would you. The trip to BKK would have given you less hassle and saved all of this grief

I drive a BT50 and its my third Mazda and its the best car I have ever driven. I hardly ever drive here on the islands but on the mainland highways its a dream. We drive a few times a year to Chiang rai and the Mazda BT50 just loves the open road. Good luck with your new ride and always reamber TIT lol.

The 10th Digit of the VIN will give you the year model. Some 2019 model cars are built in 2018

This is Thailand not UK. After buying several cars new and used the dealer was only following standard dating.

I think odometer and condition are more important. Most cars delivered and first registered in the first quarter are usually manufactured in the previous year. I would rather a good 2018 car than a crap 2019 one. Of course in saying that the false year claim is not good business or personal ethics.

The year built is no big deal. You are creating a problem where there is no problem. You should complete the deal and quit complaining.

Vehicles produced from August (I think it's August) on are considered next yr models > check drivers door inside panel plate for manufacturing date > it likely says 8/2018 or later > if so the car technically qualifies as a 2019 & the pooch is likely eating shit due to gut biome needing attention...modify diet, etc > labs known to have gut challenges as such compared to most other breeds > can be a serious issue if not addressed....leaky gut syndrome, etc. I'm no vet so take the following w/a 1/2 a grain of salt > suggest doing a proper detox/elimination for 3-4 days... limited feeding adding specific nutrients to the usual food...but less daily quantity...maybe 15-20% less for a few days as you work on gradually adding pre & probiotic dense food & or supplements > once the gut is effectively cleaned up.... slowly begin changing the food to breed specific nutrients w/a focus on maintaining a healthy breed specific gut biome > if done correctly you will notice healthy "clean" or solid stools > too much moisture in the food can also be a catylst in disrupting the gut > labs who live in hot/humid climates tend to have challenges as such climates aren't most favorable for them...so it requires additional focus in some cases... especially as they get on in yrs > good luck with her🙏

If you go to any dealer in or around Bangkok you will almost certainly get a vehicle that's come from one of the many auction houses. If you go to any one and walk arou d the carpark you'll probably find the guy who alters the odometer for a small fee. Your truck, in my unqualified opinion, didn't just cover 25,000km,no way. I'm goi g to guess the auction paperwork was wrong regarding the date of manufacture, and the real blue book didn't arrive with the dealer until after he advertised it. I see cars and bikes at auction that Arron FB marketplace next day - the dealers don't get paperwork that quick, it follows on. Did it have service history? A one owner low km vehicle would certainly have all books with it - massive red flag. The truth is that it could have had one registered owner and many dealers who have punted it through auctions over a period of time and there is no way of checking. If you are not buying from the name in the book then you must understand it could have had many owners. You can have a car or bike with registration plates from a different province but registered to another address/province. I have a motorbike with mukdahan plates registered to my home address in Bangkok. I have an old mercedes Benz with kanchanburi plates registered to my Bangkok address and I have a Hilux bought new in Bangkok that was driven to mukdahan and it's registered to our mukdahan address with Bangkok plates. No problems what so ever dealing with tax or insurance. Buying second hand is very dodgy on something nearly new, especially the low km stuff. And everything second hand is clocked back from what I've seen. Regardless, sorry you've been messed about, it's not nice and I know from experience. Take it easy, have a beer and be thankful for those good things you've got. 👍

@jimsdad3739 Yes, what you said is 100% correct. Pretty much all the dealers are rolling back the mileage on their used cars. A month ago, I checked out a Toyota Altis at a dealership, and it had 278,000 km on the odometer. Four weeks later, the same car was re-advertised by the same dealer because it didn't sell, but this time, the odometer reading was magically reduced to 170,000 km 😅. Whenever I've requested to see the service history of a car advertised as a 'genuine house car,' 'single owner,' or 'genuine mileage,' the seller always tells me there is no service book. So I ask, 'How can you prove the mileage is 100% genuine and that it's a genuine single-owner car?' That's when they ignore my question lol My advice to anyone buying a used car in Thailand: steer clear of dealerships and car flippers. Either buy directly from the owner or go for a new car!

Mazda are great cars. I have a 2.2AWD CX-5. Removed the DPF and got it re-mapped and its an excellent vehicle. Tbe deisels do have problems with the DPF and it limits the engines performance and ecomomy, if you arent doing long trips. But to be honest dont buy from Thais try buy off fellow Farangs And dont buy from "tents" especially in BKK. If it goes wrong much too far away.

@@PhilipMR223 Very true. But where did I say anything about trust?...it's more about the fact Thais simply do not maintain or service vehicles. Nor anything come to that. ...just look at any housing project older than 10-12 years. Been here far too long to be convinced otherwise.
