Second owner of a 2011 BMW 760LI with M sport package, watched this and many more videos before purchase. Only replacement was tires front and back with reg tires not run flats, immediate results of better handling, smoother quieter ride. Only maintenance is oil change,with a trans fluid and filter change in the future. Very enjoyable car, the v12 is extremely smooth with torque from 1500 rpm onward. I steered away from the 750i and li because of his recommendations, and tested a 2016 5 series but found its back seat too small and overall ride comfort was not like the 7. For such a big car it doesn't feel like your hampered by its length and seems to me to handle more like a sport sedan then land yacht.Oh and be prepared for total strangers to tell you how much they like your car. Hope you love your purchase..

We’ve had 3 7 series. (2 E65s, 1 F01) 1st - 2004 745i... long story short if your looking for a 7 series DO NOT buy one of those. When it was new it broke down leaving us stranded in 2006 twice hence why those cars are worth dog shit.. and even at those dirt cheap prices nobody wants those clunkers.. these model 7 series need one thing.. the junk yard. Was horribly un reliable at its time, and is even worse now. Any repair will total it. 2) 2008 750i... was ok, had its little problems here and there electrical wise.. had it for 9 months 3) 2011 BMW 750i (swb), blk on blk, DVD package, M sport package. We bought this car at 55k kms in 2013 ish, and kept it for 4 years. Sold it at 101k kms. The F01 was my favourite.. it got looks everywhere.. very sassy looking car. BUT it did have its issues luckily it was a CPO bmw car so it had warranty. 1st issue, the car wouldn’t go into sport mode. I’d always wanted to test out the sport plus on this car but it wouldn’t let me go into it and would instead say something along the line of drivetrain risk or something along the lines of that. I took it into the BMW dealership and they told me the timing chain needed to go and it was a recall by what I remember the BMW service guy told me 2nd issue, oil consumption.. this is apart of the first problem and was due to the valve stems. All the engine issues ended when the car went in to the bmw dealership for 2 weeks and received the ccp voluntary recall offered by bmw for all n63 engines due to how horrible they were with reliability and oil consumption. After the ccp service I never had another problem with the engine which is why I should’ve kept it. 3rd issue, the rear left spring got damaged and almost came off, covered under warranty. 4th issue, rear glass blind motor failed Oil changes were 299 CAD if I remember correctly. My advice with the F01. Buy the 2013+ with the n63tu. The n63tu is a WAY better engine and 7-series models equipped with the n63tu are holding value extremely significant to the 2012s and below. But with 2009-2012s becoming dirt cheap I can see why they are attractive. In my experience.. cross out the 2009-2010 cars FOR SURE. Even with the 2011-2012’s make sure the valve stem seals are done.. it’s worth the wait. The pre facelift 2012 and below are a huge risk overall. There’s a reason most of the ones for sale are pre facelift cars. That job was $15000 if I didn’t have warranty from bmw. I’m currently looking to buy another one.. Hope this helps anyone looking for these.

Also be aware of transfer case issues if buying an all wheel drive version. I am driving it now 2 years (20.000 km's) and only the battery had to be recplaced voor 300 Euros. If you can't go for the 760i, go for the 740i facelift. My sister has a 140,00 mile Hyundai Genesis sedan that has never broken down or had an issue, other than regular maintenance. My $96,000 luxury BMW keeps going down for one reason or another.

I have mostly high end euro cars but I can never understand why a modern Lexus is designed to go 300k miles while the Germans call for replacement parts once it hit 60k miles which coincides with the end of warranty

I actually have the 2014 F02 750Li Xdrive in Imperial blue and saddle interior. Car runs great and of course is a real looker. Lots of bells and whistles. It only has 32K miles now. I love riding like a bawse and commanding the highway cause man that car can go. I got the extended warranty because there’s so much to this car than something’s bound to go wrong...But I guess you could say that about any model of vehicle.

i have 2011 imperial blue 740li. dynamic steering all the bells and whistles and i absolutely love it. ive put over 150k miles on it in 3 years i drive it from san fransisco to los angeles weekly. on its second engine now. i also built the n54's and have 335's so the n54 powered 7 series was a no brainer. super easy to maintain . ive literally had almost 0 trouble with this car but my electronic steering rack is finally going out. i updated the i drive to the aftermarket android and put the new steering wheel and it drastically updated the feel of the interior. ill probably drive this car until it falls apart with 0 regrets.

To minimize issues : -change the engine oil after max. 5 000 mi & don't use cheap oil -don't rev the engine past 2 000 - 2 500 RPM while it's cold, after warming up you can use it regularly (you have the oil temperature gauge on the instrument cluster so you will know when it's warmed up) -use high quality/premium fuel and use the car on longer distances too (using the car mainly on short distances is gonna cause issues sooner or later and its gonna shorten the lifetime of the turbochargers for example) -after dynamic driving don't shut off the engine right away, you should wait at least 30 seconds to let the turbochargers cool down a little -change the spark plugs approx. every 37 000 mi

I run a 2014 F01 with 40,000km and have never had a problem. Treat it well and service it and it will run without problems. I’ve had an AMG that cost me 000’s because I chose to drive it hard, but sometimes it’s the luck of the draw. Knowing who owned the car prior to buying second (or third) hand is an excellent indicator, and whether the car has been serviced correctly. If you can’t afford the service and replacement parts (like fuel filters which may cost USD4,000, or a Water pump which may cost USD300) then don’t buy a Euro luxury. Driving like a Lord or a Boss costs. Accept it. Insurance premiums, depreciation, additional fuel costs and all!

I was too late seeing your video. A month ago I purchased a 2009 750Li with only 86,000 miles. Clean carfax, all services up to date, a b day all factory recall work completed. Still, constant problems since I bought it. I've had it for a month and I'm on my 3rd check engine light. For the month I've owned it, it has spent almost half that time at the dealer service department being repaired. As I type this post it's in the dealer service department for the 3rd time. I already hate the car and can't wait to get rid of it. Every time I turn it on I'm scared another light will come on. No more European cars for me.

@differentcarreview-dcr7 жыл бұрын
Well, first of all I would avoid the early production cars, so let's say cars from the first 2 years of production. I would personally choose the BMW, but only because it has better design(personal opinion), better handling and it's more of a driver's car. On the other side the S-class is more comfortable and it's also little bit more reliable than the 7 series.

Alt ought my mechanic will probably never speak to me again, but I’ve always wanted one and there’s on for sale with 130k miles had a significant passenger from fender bender and was fixed up. Owner says he had it serviced recently and says everything is good working and ready to go. $5000 for it which I think is pretty good. I’m wondering if anyone thinks that particular model year/engine is one to stay away from.

@differentcarreview-dcr Жыл бұрын
1. Only if you are ready to replace the whole engine-if it breaks or the whole fuel system-if it breaks, or you simply sell the car when these issues occur 2. Or if you are ready to avoid engine issues by preventively replacing the: timing chain, rod bearings, main crank bearings, check EGR cooler for leaks/excessive soot, crank pulley and the cp4 hpfp with the injectors the gearbox can also act up and I hope its not an xdrive because that is another hilarious source of issues other than this its fine lol

Wish I saw this before I bought my 750i with 4.4. I've owned 7 BMW's and this one the maintenance is unreal, can even get an extended warranty. I have 58k on the 2014 and constant nickel/dime issues with door locks and everything he mentions with the infamous 4.4 engine. Warranty ended recently and last year BMW maintenance spent almost $20k in dealership costs. Timing chain and front seal was $8200 alone, injectors and two coils $5700 and now door locks. Dealer wants $1400 a door, I bought new locks on ebay for 76 dollars where BMW wants $574 each. If you buy this car and its nice be sure to find a local repair shop and have them on your speed dial I was shocked how a car that was $102k new, I bought for $46k with 10k miles and in show room condition the trade in value for a 5 year old, garage kept vehicle is $18k (58k miles, no accidents, dents, waxed showroom condition). They are not what they were before.

What year is your bmw?
@greggcook30232 жыл бұрын
@@antoinebernard8115 it was a 2014 and I kept it in good condition. Between the massive depreciation and the inability to get a Maintenace contract, when the used car market increased, I sold the car with 70k for 24k and was lucky to get it. The car was in showroom condition but finding good repair people is challenging. For example, the electronic door locks are 1400 a door to repair at BMW and I got to the point I bought them on Ebay for $80 and watched a youtube video and installed them per door. The car simply isnt like the BMW in the 1980 and 1990's, too many electronic issues and the dealership tried to sell me a new one and refused to do anything but a lease. You cannot own the new ones. A real shame because they were wonderful cars to own.
