I chuckled until I remembered renting a Santa Fe while vacating in Florida and loved it so much that I bought a new one immediately when I returned home. The heart wants what it wants. I enjoy these vids the most. The productions are fantastic - music, soothing voiceover, slow reveals and focus on high-end pieces. I keep hoping the Rolex bug will bite me but I’m a type collector and with so many other fantastic pieces out there with similar function, luxuriousness and price range I keep getting diverted (subverted). Wish me luck.

You are a true collector down to the last detail (original stickers, box and papers, everything). I like your style. The 16710 is a great watch and complement to your 2018. This review has inspired to retain my 20 year old 16613 Blue Sub, which carries much of the same DNA as your 2006 such as the old style bracelet, non-maxi case. Vintage watches are the logical progression from new Rolexes.

What a beauty! Just shows you the fantastic selection available from yesteryear. Quite a complement to the guy wearing the GMT on the plane when a guy with a Patek shows that level of interest. Some quality timepieces. I think Patek will forever remain the holy grail for me. Great video and great collection.

Love the watch and the review. Like yourself I too have the same watch. My first Rolex purchase. Purchased it in 2006 at an AD at that time they couldnt give these watches away. The AD gave me a 15% discount and I paid $4345. Still have the original sales receipt. Wear it in great health!

I bought after looking for over a year for a perfect birth year watch a 1973 Rolex Steve McQueen 1655 Explorer with Box, Papers & Service Records in perfect condition. Then just two days later, I got a call that one of my contacts had found a 1972 Rolex 1655 in the same condition which happened to my wife birth year, so I purchased that as well. Very happy with both purchases.

This is a nice full set watch, the stick dial makes it a bit more collectible. The best 16710 one can buy is with the 3186 movement in it, a much rarer 5 digit GMT. If you have the 3186 and the stick dial you are reaching the top. Though the rarest 16710 are with rectangular 2 dial and 3186, but for some reason the stick dial is more popular. I almost pulled the trigger on that exact watch last month. I probably should have. I really like the way the aluminum bezel looks with the Pepsi colors. Like you, I really love my Pepsi jubilee but the 16710 is just so cool. The Pepsi jubilee is like the new, rich kid at the high school who throws the good parties but the 16710 is like the cool Senior who rides in on his motorcycle and he is so cool that the party is wherever he goes. BTW, I just bought the Batgirl a few weeks ago and the everose Day-Date with the olive green dial this week. I will post those up soon.

They call 'new' professional cyclists 'Neo Pros'. Very clever move for your channel. Ben Clymer the CEO of Hodinkee only buys his vintage watches from the original owner or a relative. The problem with Vintage is that even knowledgable people like @rolex_enforcer on IG would not buy them because even he was tricked and because of the inferior construction compared to modern versions. I get a bit confused with the model chronology as there doesn't seem to be an authoratative reference. This is a GMT II so it operates just like the modern 126710BLRO/BLNR apart from the bezel, I think which doesn't have 24 distinct detent positions and is just works by friction. 16710 was the model number for the watch. Hoew did they differentiate between the 3 bezels colours available; 4 with the Root Beer. Is this the 3186 outgoing movement, but that has a Parachrom hairspring and shock absorbers on the ceramic bezel post 2005 116718LN 18ct yellow gold and 116710LN black ceramic. Will you have it serviced and how many times has this been. Are parts still available like a new bracelet?
