Doing rack pulls with this bar is funny. I pulled 575 on it once and it was sagging so much it didn’t flex any more when pulling the slack out. Getting a real Deadlift bar was so nice after using this bar.
@thecookiechannel70833 жыл бұрын
I had this bar. It is ok for a beginner. I used it for several years but had to tighten and repair sleeves regularly. Once I deadlifted above 350 lbs it did bend. But for a teenager who may not stick with it, is a decent bar for the low price.

Inspire fitness actually has a decent budget bar they package in a 300lb bumper plate and bar package. Package is usually $500, though, I bought one on sale for $400 as my first set. By itself, the bar is $125. It's not the strongest as it's rated for 700lbs at 72000psi, but everything fits well and spins smooth and quiet. I see initial very slight bend in the bar when you get above about 185lbs total weight. Still very little bend when you cross 250. They also have a rack that I found to be a hell of a deal when I got it on sale for $650. It's 11gauge 3"x3" uprights with key accessories included (landmine, nice J cups, helper arms, dip attachments, etc).

I got a 6 feet bar of that quality. I took the sleeves to a lathe, opened the holes to 28mm and installed a roller bearing (12mm inside, 28mm externally) and it rolls just fine, if i wanted to go stupid i would add conic bearings for the inner part of them but i won't do that. So you can take a 100$ fixed bar and add rollers for like 25 extra bucks. The sleeves will be tight and roll just fine for most purposes. selling an olympic size bar with a 300 pound capacity seems pretty hazardous, and borderline unethical. Only the person who bought the bar would even know its limitations (if they even read the specs) and its being advertised for "light commercial use". And like you said why have that the 15" sleeve with a 300pound capactiy, even 3 bumpers is going to leave way more space, so people will just assume that can load it more.

Bare steel / naked barbell, I can't understand why anyone would buy bare steel. If getting a BOS bar I'd get the multi purpose olympic barbell, it's black zinc and still $200.
@GlucksGym3 жыл бұрын
Bare steel has the best feeling to it as there's no coating on the knurling so with powerlifting, especially deadlifting that grip would be the appeal. Some people also like how they patina and look with age. The multi purpose bar is the same price but not made with the same intended purpose. They can do the same things but that doesn't mean they both do them equally well.

My old gym bought the Beast bar... It's absolute dogshit Honestly sad that I have a nicer bar than a gym
@GlucksGym3 жыл бұрын
That is not a commercial bar it's a budget bar for a reason. I can't imagine how poorly it would hold up in that setting. Sounds like a junky gym.

@@GlucksGym The already non existent knurling became pretty much slick within a month and the collars don't like to spin at all. Also I'm pretty sure I bent it pulling 500lbs because it felt different after that

Can't really trust those reviews those days. All those Chinese sellers are doing the "5 star review for $20 AMZN gift card" thing....
@GlucksGym3 жыл бұрын
That's a lot of that but there's a lot of people mixed in too. Or companies switch the product to keep the old review base

I like your channel and content, but leave the gutter talk like lubing shaft and condoms for the immature and unsophisticated Basement Brandon. Look up to Coop to see how to promote your brand to professional companies like Sorinex and Rogue. This kind of talk may get few chuckles from infantile viewers, but really everyone grows one day (hopefully) and find these talks somewhat putting off. Another Channel which is very decent (but has nothing to do with review) is Alan Thrall's. Good luck and Happy New Year!

Maybe you need to loosen up a bit Gramps. I like that he jokes around like an actual human rather than being another corporate shill.

@@frostedbutts4340 Username checks out. Also, when you talk decent in front of your family and kids - are you an actual human or a shill? But then, you probably are 14 years old and which makes you a target viewer and subscriber of Basement Brandon.

I think you lose some of persuasiveness of your argument by insulting those you talk to and mention. I think what Frosted means is that some reviewers are more interested selling you things rather creating actual reviews. I appreciate the feedback, we're always trying to improve.

@@GlucksGym Agreed. And I also know that most are here to sell on youtube, and will not deny receiving free products in order to review as "unbiased". Some youtubers have gone to the extend of paying from their pocket, only to receive monetary compensation later from the manufacturer. So when they say, I bought this from my own money, they are not technically lying.

It might just be a fun video that hopefully helps some people avoid this thing. I do recommend a better bar for the same price as it's on sale every month and a few others that are much better for a little more. It's not about price, it's not a good product and I think that's clear from the points made in the video.

Pubescent review. Nice attempt at humoring your way through an accurate and potentially helpful review. But, you lost me.
