Your biggest mistake was interviewing Guruji 5 years ago where you stepped down to a lower pedestal and gave all the limelight to such a malicious guy who eventually ruined the tech community. Youth today is influenced by such selfish, dishonest and materialistic influencers because their intentions were not challenged in time by the people who had the power to do so rather almost everyone wanted to be friends with the kid with the fancy toys. I have always admired your honesty and sincerity, it feels sad that people today dont understand the value of the gold which you can provide them all because they are blinded by the bling.

As a 20 year old kid, this video deeply resonated with me and was an epiphany for me. You could say it opened my eyes. It's true, my friends are getting latest and greatest smartphones and laptops, bike and even some of them have cars. For the note, I'm lucky to be born in a well to do family so I also have this stuff but there is a desire to get the latest shiniest stuff on the market. And I think this will help me manage funds much better in the future and save me and others who listened to you carefully from debt traps from this experience you shared❤️. I have a request, can you make a video on money management and savings?

In short, jitna chaadar hai utna hi pair failao. If not today, tomorrow you will have the money to fulfill your dreams.... work hard fulfill your necessities and then fulfill your dreams. I can totally relate to this story... I was roaming around in my mid twenties looking for a job with only a diploma in my hand, because that was the maximum my family could afford at that time. Now, I'm 49, and I have much more experience in the automotive sector than anyone else. Ab mere paas gaadi hai, ghar hai, Maa bhi hai... all because of MY hardwork and spending wisely. From assembling engines to becoming the GM of the same company in which I slogged day and night, I have come a long way and I'm in tears when I recollect this... from a small house without curtains in Kolkata, I'm in a 4BHK house in Chennai. From borrowing a bike from my cousin for a day to driving my own Compass, I have come a long way. And yes, I have fortunately followed all the things you have mentioned in your video... Even if this video doesn't get the reach it deserves(hopefully it does get the reach) it'll always be close to my heart and motivate me to work harder and spend smarter. I still drive my old CT100 which I bought when I came to Chennai back in 2004... it motivates me to continue the grind.

That's a very good advice, I personally prefer to buy on EMI only if I have the full amount for outright purchase. I go with EMI only if I am getting any additional offers/ discounts/ freebies, etc.
@nagarjunayt
@nagarjunayt 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. When you can afford a product outright and still see offers or no cost EMI option, why not go for it. But you should also ensure that you invest your amount elsewhere to gain returns. Else, with inflation, the value of that money goes down.

Right on point. What I plan on doing is, instead of buying a phone on EMI, I ll buy a phone I can afford, and then immediately start investing in an SIP of about 1k per month only for phone. The phone should easily last around 2 years, which means I ll have atleast 24k(even more if you include compounding) after two years due to this SIP. Then I ll have sufficient money to buy a new phone with this money. Repeat. I read this strategy on a nice personal finance article. You'll also have the motivation to keep using your phone as you can buy a better phone if you use the current phone for longer time. Is your dream phone 5k more than your funds? Easy, just use your current phone for 5 more months and you can afford it.

I totally agree and follow the delayed gratification method every time my brain falls in love with a costly gadget or vehicle. It has helped me in a lot instances. After delaying it, i always end up realizing that i don't really need it after all. One doubt or suggestion i have is, if i can afford the full amount with me, why can't I still go for loan, you do end up paying the interest , but then over the duration the amount's value reduces and would be negligible. Also, if you put that bulk amount in a good low risk fund or share, you get that added benefit as well.

(old viewer) You need to make more videos on topics like these. I am still using realme 1 (purchased after watching your review) because it's still working well. Last year my friends for saying to me to buy a new phone and I could have purchased it in cash because luckily I am doing internships and since I was 18 (22 now) but I learned digital marketing instead of buying a phone and god I am happy with my decision. After the course ended I got a job even before graduating and that added 1 year of experience in my academic profile and I have a (touchwood) good portfolio of stocks now because I did sips. planning to make my profile even stronger for good-paying jobs and high-ranked universities for MBA. (phone is still working fine) 🙂.

I generally don’t comment on KZbin videos, but I couldn’t stop commenting on this one. I’ve been following you even before we had these big phones to watch KZbin videos. All these years, I’ve never seen anyone so successful yet so humble. And maybe this is the sole reason why you have become so successful over the years. I’ve seen people running after sponsors and changing their content type just because of money, but you stayed the same. Never sugarcoated any brand, just went straight with whatever you feel. I remember, you posted a QnA on phone buying, and you said the same thing back then as well. May you grow and achieve more success in life!

@geekyranjit you are simply different youtuber. I have been following you since 10+ years, over the years my father got an idea about you and now he respects you and your thoughts about gadgets and money. He is 59 and me 27 and we both respect you!

Absolutely right, education system never teaches about how to manage money and save it and most of the people who start earning end up spending it on things they cannot afford only because their friends have it.

I am studying finance and I totally agree with you on most of the points you make , spending on gadgets by taking loans unless you absolutely need it for work is stupid. But I believe you can take loans for buying expensive stuff if you can by it without the loan in cash and you have opportunities to invest that cash in places that will generate more return than the interest you pay on the loan and remember loan interest is tax deductible. Just remember guys loans is a high risk high return strategy . Analogy time : Operating without loans is like driving at 25km/h you will not reach you destination quick but will probably be safe and if something untoward does happen it will be minor . Operating with loans is like driving at a 100km/h ( increase or decrease the speed according to your liking depending on the amount of loan) you will reach fast , its riskier , higher chance of accident and if there is an accident it will be severe
