I agree entirely with the below comment. Your videos are always very well thought out and packed full of information. I think I have gleaned more information from your channel of the model Y and what I can expect in a few weeks time when mine arrives, than any other channel I have watched. So thanks very much for posting them all. cheers John

In New Zealand and have just replaced our Model 3 tyres at 76,000km (NZ$1600) and the Model Y is now due at 70,000km which was running Hankook Ventus.

I eventually settled on to replace our Model Y with Hankook Ion Evo AS IH01A very quiet, good thread wear and decent performance for a touring all season tires. One of the few tires that has AAA ratings, top rating on all thread wear, noise and grip.

Yes Hankook seem to be making some excellent tyres now.

I am getting a low suspension rumble from my model y with these vents tyres which I do not get on my m3 with Mitchelin tyres. It’s very annoying

Great informative video. Hope more tyre shops see this video. Is there a guild to how worn the tread is before considering to change 2 tyre on the same axle if i have a MY long range, all wheel drive, if u get a pucture in one tyre? Use to get told with 4WD car you have to change in pairs. Also if u have to buy one new tyre would it be safe buying one or two Michelin Cross climate if the other are still the Hankook orginals?

Thanks a lot for very detailed video. Could you please suggest best tyres for Model 3 Long Range 18'inch.

It all depends on your climate, local market availability and driving style. Personally I favour all-season tyres in the UK. See www.tyrereviews.com/ and their KZbin channel for a good source of info and comparison tests.

You forgot to mention what tire you replaced with? At the end of the, what you recommend? Specific brand model price?? Link where to get them?

I absolutely hate having to hand my car over to get the tires done. How much would you charge to install four tires and balance?
@nissan_skyline7 ай бұрын
Check if there is a mobile tire service in your area. They can come to wherever your car is and do a full install and balance. I know GoMobile Tires has offices in several states if you're in the U.S. You can order tires through their website, or buy them yourself and just book an installation appointment.

All season tyre always a bit noisy and last shorter
@GoGreenAutos7 ай бұрын
It depends on which ones. I've used Goodyear Vector 4Seasons on previous EVs and they were quieter than the original fit Michelin summer tyres and last just as long.

Ok I'm being serious and I hope I don't get roasted to bad in the comments 🙈 I have seen many bicycle tires in my day and when you take off the tire I see the inner tube but every time I have a car tire replaced I never see an inner tube 🤔🤔 Do car tires have inner tubes ?? If they don't how does a tire go flat when getting punctured by a nail or screw etc ??? Isn't just rubber , you stick a nail in rubber nothing really happens it goes back to it's shape. The only thing I can think is when they put the tire on the rim this makes an air tight seal hense keeping the tire inflated , is this assumption accurate?? Again thank you to anyone who responds as I seriously don't get how a tire goes flat if it doesn't have an inner tube 🙏🏻😎👍🏻
@GoGreenAutos7 ай бұрын
Car's don't use innertubes as they're actually worse for punctures and can blowout and deflate quicker. I think balancing is an issue too so no good for high speed driving. Agricultural and low speed industrial vehicles will often use innertubes still. On cars, the tyre needs to be filled with air to keep its shape and support the weight of the vehicle. When fitting a tyre, it does correct an air tight seal on the inner rim of the wheel.

On the model y it’s not the tyre I think more the suspension

As dB are relative not absolute , quoting dB without the reference level spec and weighting is a bit pointless. Not knocking... it happens a lot!

Informative video, but not entirely correct. The manufacturers' specifications are usually different for summer and winter/all season tyres. For example, the latter may be H or T rated versus W for summer - other parameters may also vary. EV tyres are specifically designed to be more efficient, harder wearing, quieter, and have better traction than normal tyres due to EVs being heavier, more torquey, and quieter than fuel cars.
