For the keto bread, I had a broken microwave so it didn’t cook the middle top of the bread, so I heated a cast iron skillet and seared the top of the cake until golden brown. I never cried over food before but this bread with that sear made me cry, it was so good.

Best part? That batter is INCREDIBLY versatile. It's the basis of ALL my low-carb baking. I use it for bread, tortillas, cake, pita chips, even waffles. Add an extra egg and it's wet enough to make tortillas. Add cocoa powder and Swerve and now it's a delicious chocolate cake. It's amazing and I ADORE it. One thing I like to do is get some plain (non-breaded) chicken burger patties and fry them, then cut them into quarters and set them aside. Then I prep the dry ingredients and the egg in separate bowls as a breading station, bread the burger quarters accordingly and fry them up again until the skin is crunchy. Then, because the chicken was already cooked, I combine the remaining egg and dry stuff and fry _that._ Keto chicken nugget wrap!

@Robert Medak says who? You? I will trust the science thanks. My blood pressure is down, my weight is down, my cholesterol is down, my hormones are regulated. How can that lead to a shorter life? Either you're vegan, or have some agenda.

@Robert Medak it's not starvation if I'm still eating adequate calories. And a random .org doesn't mean anything if its using outdated nutrition guidelines that seemingly did nothing to combat the obesity epidemic. Look the science behind low carb and keto ways of eating is out there and if you choose to ignore it because you have an agenda, fine... I'm not going to spoon feed my 3 years of self research and reading studies for you. Just make sure you dont rely on epidemological studies though, protip! Low carb ways of eating existed a long damn time.. in ancient China monks would abstain from grains as they recognized ancient humans wouldn't have eaten that way and scholars of the time even noted that the monks had longer lives. It's not new, it's not a fad... and for many people, it works. You do you, boo.

I eat a LOT more variety than that! I just made some chocolate ice cream and put in the freezer and it's keto and if you use all organic ingredients like I do, it's also organic. I don't get sick of cauliflower because it takes on the flavor of whatever spices, sauces, etc that you put in it. And I scramble my eggs in a combo of butter and bacon grease. Here's the Chocolate chocolate chip ice cream recipe (I'm a chocolaholic/Ice Creamoholic) In a wide mouth pint jar put: 1 C heavy cream, 2 Tbs erythritol, 1 T unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 tsp pure vanilla extract, 2 Tbs sugar free chocolate chips. Shake vigorously for 5 minutes. It will double in size and fill the jar. Freeze for 3 to 24 hours. ENJOY!

(And as a bonus you get some education about nutrition and he and his wife are simply adorable to watch!) A few other channels I’d like to mention that get way less attention than they deserve are: Papa Gs low carb recipes, Kuttin Up Keto, Highfalutin Low Carb, Hungry Elephant, and CjsKetoKitchen. The hungry elephant especially has some recipes that I’ve never seen tried anywhere else. She seems to put a lot of time and effort into developing and testing many different recipes of her own so support these great channels!

Jeremy Alexander Lol, nope. And the only exercise I do is walking 30mins a day.
@twdjt6245
@twdjt6245 5 жыл бұрын
Jeremy Alexander bullshit. I’ve lost 85lbs so far with Keto in about 6 months and the only exercise I’ve been doing so far is walking at 2.5mph for like 30 minutes every other day.....and I’m not even consistent with that. The real kicker is that according to the loseit app, I should be losing weight much slower with the amount of calories I’m eating and my activity level. (I should have only lost roughly 45-50lbs if it were really just CICO). Weight loss isn’t only calories in calorie out like we’ve been believing for so long. (Though I do think calories do matter to an extent). The science proves this. It’s also about hormones. This is why some people find it very difficult to gain while others don’t even have to try. If you are eating foods that encourage your body to pump out hormones that make you store more fat, experience more frequent hunger, and crave more carbs, then of course you’re going to lose weight slower, if at all. Lifetime obese person here at 26. I’ve never been the one to try “fad diets” before, only way I’ve only ever tried (countless times) was the doctor recommended old fashioned “count calories and eat healthy foods following the food pyramid”. Never lasted more than three days before i couldn’t take the hunger and cravings any more. Kudos to those who can do it that way, as I’m not saying that the old fashioned way doesn’t work for anyone, as obviously it does for many. But for me personally, it’s unsustainable, and thanks to Keto my New Years resolution is simply to start getting more serious with meal prepping and to start building up to more exercise with some weight training to keep the pounds coming off and help get to my goal weight by the end of the year. You can bash it as a fad diet all you want, but my depression and chronic fatigue that have all but disappeared, my improved blood pressure, and just the simple fact that someone as undisciplined as myself has been able to easily keep on it and plans to eat this way for life begs to differ. You say it’s a scam, but yet ignore the fact that nobody needs a special cookbook or any special powders or abnormal foods to keep on Keto, so it’s scam for what? Sounds like no more of a scam than your traditional “healthy”diet. Only people it’s a scam to is who allows themselves to be scammed by not keeping things simple. What does sound like a lot more of a scam to me is what huge profit margins junk food companies make and how much our gov subsidizes wheat, corn, and soy. What also sounds like a scam is how many people in this country have completely preventable/curable type2 diabetes, hypertension, pcos, amongst other “diseases”/disorders that seem to have started to pop up from “nowhere” coincidentally at about the same time that a food pyramid developed by a proven QUACK started to “inform” people that you should get over half your calories from carbs and butter is bad for you. The amount of money spent on the foods that cause these issues that are killing us by the boatload and the medical bills obtained by “treating” them sounds like the real scam if you ask me.

Can you share your diet?
@scottcarroll9201
@scottcarroll9201 5 жыл бұрын
@@SuperCricketer94 I've lost nearly 50lbs in the past month and a half. I'll share mine with you. Fast for four days out of the week, the other three days eat as much as you want of meat, cheese, butter, and eggs, but no more than 10g of carbs a day and no sugars. Presto. If you've got the will power to follow it, you will lose at least 5lbs a week (maybe more depending on how heavy you are to start) and feel fantastic. My first week I lost 17lbs. The next week I lost 9lbs. It's been at least a 5lb loss every week since. An addendum: when I say fast for four days, that means NO CALORIES at all. You can have zero calorie sodas and water. That's it. There are those who will tell you that the artificial sugar in zero calorie sodas will spike your insulin and drive you out of ketosis but that's BS. Your body doesn't recognize it as sugar and passes it straight through. I've been very strict about measuring my ketones while drinking diet sodas and I've stayed consistently in ketosis. The fasting for four days sounds tough, and it is for the first week you do it. But I promise every week after that it gets easier and easier until you get to the point where you don't even think about it. It's just something you do.

Been on Keto for 15 months too. Down 45 pounds then back up 20 pounds and slowly, ever so slowly have come down another ounce at a time for a grand total of 32 pounds. But Keto is pretty easy to stay on so I grind away. But it just seems to stop working after about 45 pounds. My body cannot handle sugars of any kind but I do allow some slow carbs occasionally like beans. My waist snapped back 6 inches and I have never had a waist to speak of. I truly want to get down to 130 before Valentines but I don't see how that is going to happen.

What an ingenious workaround for the broken microwave! Searing the top of the keto bread in a cast iron skillet until golden brown is pure genius. I can only imagine how that added layer of flavor and texture would elevate the entire experience. The fact that it brought tears of joy is a testament to the power of a truly delicious meal. On the topic of keto, I've personally experienced a couple of positive aspects that make it stand out for me. Firstly, the sustained energy levels throughout the day are a real game-changer - no more energy slumps. Secondly, the mental clarity and focus have been significantly improved, making my days more productive. As for a keto-inspired motto for a good day: "Fuel your body with the right ingredients, and watch how it transforms not just your meals but your entire day - keto, where every bite is a step towards a healthier and happier you!" 🍞🌟💪

keto is good for the most part in terms of getting good effects, just like going vegetarian or vegan, however keto just has some benefits of feeling full and being able to eat really tasty stuff, however, some people are sugar and carbs so maybe a different diet could help them. keto is becoming popular because people are realizing that fat isnt bad for you, and that the biggest killer in any diet is addictive sugar, high fructose corn syrups, and overeating

Javier Vargas exactly. Also (again, in my case) helps with fatigue, depression, can reverse type 2 diabetes, and makes the cravings for the bad stuff a lot more tolerable. I live in a household where almost everyone eats lots of carby junk all the time. No special occasion needed for a cake or pie to be sat down on the kitchen counter for anyone who wants to have at it. I would never be able to resist on traditional calorie counting diets that still included a lot of (albeit, touted as “healthier”) carbs. I still live in that household, but after going keto about 7 months ago, for the first time in my life I’m able to easily say “no” when I come home to see a platter of cookies sitting on the counter or my favorite sugary cereals on top of the fridge. That is because my appetite is almost always satiated and I’m almost never hungry anymore. My body is getting what it needs so isn’t sending signals to my brain to gorge on crap anymore. No more loads of carbs in my system making me pump out insulin making me store even more fat that I don’t need. Keto has taught me and sort of even trained me to treat treats as a rare indulgence rather than an everyday thing...and best part is once in a while when I do want to let myself have something like that, the internet is loaded with keto friendly recipes for me to do just that. Never lasted more than 3 days on your regular doctor recommended calorie counting follow the bullshit usual food pyramid diet, but now about 6.5 months in I am 85 lbs down with roughly 120 more to lose. I plan to eat this way for life, so it isn’t just a “diet” to me, (quoting previous commenter). There are loads of other benefits to keto than just weight loss, so honestly plan to do keto or lazy keto forever. The only times I did stray was once when I was a beginner and didn’t plan well enough one day, and once on purpose for my birthday, both times had me feeling like shit and made me realize why I always felt like shit prior, because too many carbs aren’t good for people like me (and most people in general) and isn’t what the human diet is supposed to consist of. All these grains and unhealthy fats we’re consuming due to the usda’s brilliant advice to get more than half our calories from carbs and avoid animal fat is killing us by the boatload , and I feel that it’s long time for us to start waking up to that reality.

I recommend watching Dr. Berg. He has his own channel on KZbin. He has been doing Keto for I think 30-40 years so he know a lot about it. My family started it about 1 year ago. My mom told me that a lot of people think it’s bad because they see it that you are just eating a lot of fat like butter and bacon. I can sed why that is bad, I’m not blind. But there are so many different ways of doing keto. The way we do it is enter in our macros. So that tells us how much fat, protein, carbs etc. we can have. So it’s not like we eat as much fat as we want. We have a limit of how much carbs and stuff we should be eating for it to be healthy for our body. And we also eat LOTS of vegetables. Because if you don’t eat vegetables while on keto, your liver can fail from all the fats that you could be eating. Keto has is effective though. At the age of 10-13 I used to be overweight. We started doing keto when I was about 14. Now I am happier with my body and not self conscious about my body when changing for gym class. I really do recommend watching Dr. Berg if doing keto. I learned all this stuff from my mom who learned it from him. He knows lots of amazing recipes and other things about keto!

@@mags506 Technically yes.... but there is so much tomato and cabbage in there... that you may as well be eating real lasagne! I calculated the nutritional info because they haven't (for good reason I assume). Here are just the main ingredients in the recipe and the NET carbs to give you an idea. 1 cup carrots (10g) 1 yellow onion (6.3g) 2lb ground beef (0g) 4 cloves garlic (3.6g) 1/2 cup dry red wine (4g) 28oz crushed tomatoes (40g) 1 head cabbage (30g) 2 cups ricotta cheese (14g) works out to 108 net carbs in the entire dish... but that would probably only do 6 servings. That works out to be 18g of carbs in 1 slice of that lasagna dish. YIKES. That's as many carbs as I do in 2-3 days total!! 18g of carbs in such a small slice is a ridiculous amount.

Wow, what a creative solution for the keto bread hiccup! When my microwave was acting up, I tried a similar trick using a cast iron skillet to sear the top, and the results were phenomenal. The golden brown crust added a whole new dimension of flavor and texture. I can totally relate to the emotional response - there's something magical about that perfect sear transforming the bread into a culinary masterpiece. It's amazing how a little improvisation can lead to such a delightful outcome. If anyone's ever facing issues with uneven cooking, I highly recommend giving the skillet method a shot. It might just turn your keto bread experience into a tear-worthy moment of culinary bliss. Cheers to finding those unexpected gems in the kitchen! 🍞🔥

You can also do Paleo Keto. So cut out dairy or just the lactose foods. Butter doesn't have lactose I think, but swap cream for coconut milk and cream. Paleos would swap butter for coconut oil/butter or nut butters. You can also drink nut milks like almond or coconut milk. I believe mild to strong cheddar is pretty low in lactose. Depends how sensitive you are to it. I wouldn't suggest vegan cheese since it can be high in carbs. But really, you don't need the cheese if you can't stomach it. Plenty of other fats.

I've been doing it almost 2 years and every single health metric, weight, blood pressure, cholesterol, has improved. My skin is clearer too as my hormones are more regulated. These are once in a while dishes when I plan to splurge a bit, a typical keto dinner for me is a small amount of meat and a side of cruciferous vegetables, usually with a bit of butter. 300 - 400 calories and maybe 4g carbs depending on the veg. CALORIES MATTER and if anyone says they don't, they're misinformed. Breakfast is a small piece of spinach and feta frittata, lunch is a small Greek salad, very little dressing, a pepperoni, sliced deli meat, celery and about a 1/4 cup of guacamole. 1500 - 1700 calories a day, 20ish grams of carbs, I've lost 10lbs a month steady since I started , keto has changed my life. Keto is NOT butter, bacon, and cheese ALL the time. Educate yourselves folks!
